Future NBA coaches

What current/retired NBA players do you think would make the best NBA coaches and which guys you would most like to see as NBA coaches (from an entertainment standpoint)

Some that come to mind...

Best:
J-Kidd
Kirk Hinrich
Steve Nash
Tim Duncan (doubt he'd want to though)
Kobe
KG
Derek Fisher
Eric Snow
Coby Karl

Most Like To See:
KG
Stephon Marbury
Ron Artest
Rasheed Wallace
Shaq
Dwight Howard
Mutumbo

HAHAHAAHAHA how about this a

HAHAHAAHAHA how about this a coaching staff like this:
Head Coach: Stephon Marbury
Associate Head Coach: Ron Artest
Assistant Coach: Rasheed Wallace
Assistant Coach: Bonzi Wells

It would be debatable as to whose worse the players or coaching staff.

Yeah Latrell as the GM.

Yeah Latrell as the GM. Money Hungry player asking for money to feed his family. I wonder what Latrell would say.

If Mutumbo was the coach

I don't think half the players would understand what he would be saying lol.

Exactly, it would be awesome

Exactly, it would be awesome hearing his press conferences. And then waving his finger at Joey Crawford, one other than the middle for a change. Joey will still find a way to T him up despite not being able to understand anything he's saying.

I was looking at the same vid pretty much knicksfan7. I love Battier's, Brooks (with the hand gestures), and then Chuck Hayes (chuck how the little ones)

Yea I'm originally from

Yea I'm originally from Philly though. Pittsburgh's cool but Philly is where my hearts at. Tough to leave that place once you've lived there your whole life.

Word, speaking of Philly why

Word, speaking of Philly why not have Allen Iverson be the star player for the coaching staff I assembled. I don't think there would be any training camp or practices during the season.

LOL yea. But you better

LOL yea. But you better leave it all on the court come gameday. Despite all his bad practice habits and what have you, he gave it all for Philly ever game night. He was the whole reason why people filled the Wach back when he played. I was there the game b4 we found out he was traded and people just started spread the word via word of mouth. At least half the arena was empty within 20 minutes of the news breaking throughout the Wach. One of the saddest days for Philly fans.

Damn. That's surprising that

Damn. That's surprising that that many people who leave. I bet it was sad. I was soo upset as when Ewing got traded, I know he was old, but I was still upset.

I think you have put Shane Battier in the discussion when your talking about future head coaches. The guy so smart, savvy and has great leadership skills IMO.

Some good former players who

Some good former players who would be good coaches. Most of them are point guards and for good reason, those players really know how to lead a team. here a few of mine. (not all are Point Guards although most of them are)
John Stockton(would love to see him back on the bench although I doubt he would take the job)
Mark Jackson
Derek Fisher
Jason Kidd
Tim Hardaway
Afernee(Penny) Hardaway
Alonzo Mourning
Majic Johnson
Avery Johnson
Darrell Armstrong
Shaq (might be good, but really depends if he lets his funny side acts go and really direct the team)
Eric Snow
Steve Nash
Shane Battier
thats about it.
Sure had fun reading some posts on this thread. Dikembe Mutumbe as a coach, would be just hilarious listening to him when ESPN does their WIRED shots of NBA Coaches doing their thing. Marbury, Sheed, Spreewell, Artest would be horrible coaches but hilarious to listen to them get mad and just obliterate their team, maybe even potentially abuse them. Great post.
