NBA Playoff Thread
I'm looking forward to this series. The Magic have jumped out to a lead, but I think the Bobcats match up with them well and have the bigs to at least foul Howard, and put him on the line.
It'll be tough to beat the Magic since they're so good defensively as well as offensively, but I doubt it'll be a sweep. The Bobcats are arguably the best defensive team in the league. It'll take great coaching/strategy, which is possible with Larry Brown. I think the Bobcats can make this series a lot tougher than the Magic want it to be.
did anybody watch the laker halftime interview with lebron and what he had to say about KObe? i missed it.
Jameer Nelson is in another world right now, playing out of his mind,24 in the first half
Nelson's always been a nice talent as a scorer...but yea, Raymond Felton is playing poor on D. So it's not helping that he's not making him work. Nelson is making everything. Hell, the Magic's whole team is making everything.
Lol yea... A lot of people underestimate how deep the Blazers are. With veterans Miller, Camby and Howard leading the young guys Aldridge, Batum, Webster, Bayless and Fernandez... They can win this series. Stealing the first game will be huge for their confidence.
And it'll be nuts at the Rose Garden when the series shifts to Portland. I feel confident they can win both games.
not so fast there. Gadzuric doing work around the basket and delfino going off the dribble on a couple plays. The bucks just need to stop turning it over and letting atl get out and run.
Gadzuric did give the Bucks quality PT defensively. I must admit.
Jeff Teague has looked terrible running the PG so far. Its clear he's raw as a playmaker right now. Maybe in a year or 2 he'll be a good PG capable of taking the reigns from Bibby.
The Hawks 2nd unit is questionable. They have given up big runs to the Bucks whenever they get extended time on the court together. The 1st unit has been lights out.
The Haks could be up by more if Jamal Crawford stopped being a ball-stopper like he's been in the early goings so far.
Josh Smith having a MONSTER game so far. Dunking, rebounding, making plays for others and blocking shots.
Brandon Jennings is having a bad night on both ends. Struggling to finish at the rim, missing jumpers. It's been ugly.
Jamal Crawford is having a bad game, but he's scaled back on the shots......sorta.
Hawks up by 14.
i've been watching the heat game. Neither of these teams are playing all that great. The miami offense has nothing going and boston is is playing good physical ball on both ends.
Yea it's time to see whats going on in the Heat v. Celtics game.
The Hawks have this one under control. Josh Smith has played unbelievably good today. 1 assist away from a triple double.
heat look terrible. Wade is not doing anything special, he looks like just another guy on the court. Big Baby is punishing miami inside.
Jennings needs to improve on his game-to-game consistency, 34 points one game, 9 points the next..
Im sure that'll come with time, but if he wants to win this playoff series, hes going to have to do alot better than 3/15, 1/6 from three, and only getting to the line twice...
He didn't pick his spots well, and seemed rattled alot of the night. He dropped passses, lost control of his dribble more than once, and he drove the ball into the teach of the defense without protecting the ball with the rim/backboard, which led to his shots getting blocked ALOT. He didn't even defend that well either. Definitely a night to forget.
jennings has great one on one moves and can get hot. But he always settles for bad shots and goes weak into the lane. It's just a question if he is hot or not, and more often then not he isn't.
I love Mike Beasley's offensive talent of course, but he is a terrible defender. And this is coming from a K-State fan. He has never been a good defender since the 1st time I've seen him play.
Rondo is an incredible passer and leader. He's one of the elite playmakers in the NBA without any doubts.
The Heat have a super stagnant offense. Where has D Wade been tonight?
we'll see what miami is about in game 3 because they should be humiliated. They blow a big lead in game 1 then get blown out in game 2 with no KG, they are showing no passion.
Pheonix is killing Portland right now. Portland looking bad in transition D, which is bad because the thing Pheonix does best is.....attack in transition, even after made baskets
all right lakers, lets not allow any upset talk to come creepng in. I saw hollinger put this series in 7 and says it has upset potential all over it, lets quiet that talk real quick.
Eric Maynor is a good, young backup PG...But he doesn't put pressure on the D like Westbrook does offensively. And he's not a great defender either. That's why the Lakers have jumped them so far. Westbrook has to stay out of foul trouble.
Shannon Brown is continuing to show why he should be the future starter for LA. He is a decent scorer and a very nice overall shooter.
Kobe and Durant both taking bad shots and struggling a little.
people talking the last month about the lakers struggling forget how important bynum is. People act like the lakers are so talented that they should just be rolling teams even without him. He means a LOT
The Thunder aren't surprising me. They are a young team who never had pressure on them.
People forget- The Thunder were once 4th in the West but once the Western Conference teams started playing hard- They dropped to 8th.
I think OKC gets swept but it a great learning experience for them
damn, westbrook just tried to pull a slamball dunk.
Batum hurt his shoulder. I don't care if the Blazers lose this game. But if Batum is done then we have no chance in the series unless Roy comes back which is now a possibility.
dwade, nobody said anything about blocking shots. You said they were a tough physical team because the blocks proved it and people said blocks dont always equal toughness.
@llperez. As a big Kobe fan, do you think he should take this summer off and rest instead playing with the USA team? I know he has injuries to his finger and ankle, but I believe his knee is hurting him too. It's his right knee, which is the knee he's had minor arthroscopic surgery on twice. He doesn't look the same to me right now.
they are playing very tough tonight, agreed. I still think the lakers need to go to the bigs more. Right now kobe is driving the lane and he is getting into trouble by the thunder length. The lakers need to use their size right back at them.
butlerB, yes. I think he has played non stop for the last two summers. He needs to rest. But he can be very stubborn and some of that not having bounce in his step could just be age. Oh yeah, and he is looking like closer kobe right now.
nope,Ron shot good early in the year, but his jumper has been awol for awhile. that is a real concern for the lakers. This is the time where i just say give it to kobe and get out of his way. The last time he hit fisher for the wide open 3 and you know he can get decent looks for himself as well.
yeah, only good game today
that made my heart stop. NOt sure thats the best look they could get
Green with that shot? I didn't think he'd be the one shooting it.. Maybe Russell but Green? Then again, they had no time outs so you can't blame anybody. very good game.

Orlando should sweep Charlotte. They can pick them apart in the pick and roll. I think Orlando's offense is going to be too much for the Cats throughout this series.
