all right, you the man? Prove it
it's playoff time baby. And here are the alpha dogs from each team that need to step up to the plate. These are the guys we should all be watching. They will take the blame. Or they will take the glory.
Lakers-Kobe Bryant. We all know you are the man. But now there are clinks in your armor. People belive Durant has passed you. Are you still the best? Let's find out.
Thunder-Kevin Durant. You are an mvp candidate? You are the future? You are the best player on the court in this series? Lets see it.
Mavericks-Dirk Nowitzki. You are going against Duncan in a battle to see who is the best pf in the game. It's championship or fail.
Spurs-Tim Duncan. See above.
Suns-Amare Stoudemire. Some might put steve nash here. But I think it is Amare who needs to step up and prove he is a max player capable of carrying a team in the playoffs.
Blazers-LaMarcus ALdridge. No Roy, you are the man who is next in line. Lets see what you got.
Nuggets-Chauncey Billups. I truly believe we all know who melo is and what he is capable of regardless of what happens in this series. But Billups is the man who has to face off against DWill and show why he is known as Mr Big Shot. It's your time CB.
Jazz-Deron Williams. You are the best pg in the league huh? I know there are a lot of years left in your tank, but you can do wonders for your legacy right now. Good luck.
Cavs-LeBron James. We all know you dominate for 82 games and for 45 minutes. Now take that next leap. Jordan, Kobe, Magic, Bird all had titles by their 7th season. It's your time King.
Bulls-Derrick Rose. People respect you as the the pg of the future. You were broken in last year, now lets see you carry your team past the first round and dominate a series.
Magic-Dwight Howard. You are known as the best center in the game. Shaq, Olajuwon, Robinson, Kareem, Wilt, Russell all won titles. Are you ready to join them?
Bobcats-Stephen Jackson. You are a veteran on a young team. You've won in the playoffs before pulling off an upset. Your team needs you. If you dont show up, the bobcats will never see a game 5.
Hawks-Josh Smith. We all know what Joe is about. Josh stunk it up last year when his team needed him most. Now he is getting more credit then ever for the Hawks Success. Dont let them down again. Show why you are an all-star.
Bucks-Brandon Jennings. Wow, I hate to put this on a rookie. This is pretty much a no lose situation. If you struggle, you were a rookie. But if you lead, well then the brandon jennings era of milwaukee ball takes off.
Celtics-Paul Pierce. A lot of people have claimed this as Rondo's team and believe he is the alpha dog. Not so fast. Pierce has picked his spots all year resting as much as he could. But this is his team. It was his team when they won in 2008 and it will be his team this year as well. Now what message are you gonna send the league Paul?
Heat-Dwyane Wade. No one expects much from the heat. You are the best player on the court and if you can dominate, your legacy grows. If you struggle, the gap between you and Lebron grows further.
this is a really good post
Actually LeBron dominated for around 77 games? I think he missed the last five which costed me my Fantasy League Championship. But, I hold no grudge against LeBron...or the Cavs organization
It just made me lose a chance at 240 bucks..
Who cares about your fantasy league? You were in our leage and inactive for the whole damn yr.. : )
Great post llperez
Love the post, but I think that Booz has something to prove as well. If he truly wants to stay in Utah, and wants a championship then now is the time to prove his worth to the team. Right? Dwill is a nice thought, and personally I think he is the best PG in the NBA. Nash is old, so is Kidd. CP3PO got hurt this season, and Dwill always crushes him when they play against each other. I can't think of any other dominating PG in the NBA other then those 4.
Great post llperez.
I don't think Tim Duncan has much to prove at this point. No one expects them to win the title, and his legacy is pretty much set in stone. Not too many can claim to have been the "alpha dog" on four title teams (as in, only Duncan, Jordan, Russell, Mikan and maybe Abdul-Jabbar).
Manu Ginobili could really come out and prove something if he continues his torrid pace.
Post of the year right here lol.
thanks for the positive feedback guys. I was just hyped for the playoffs when i sat down and wrote this before i went to bed last night.
