Normally I do not like it when bigger name players leave their teams for free agency. but I have to make an exception for MrBosh. He has been very productive for his club since being drafted and now has approached the issue of free agency rather gracefully. He has only once had a winning season in Toronto and now is faced with the decision to leave or not to leave. Considering the dark corner that Colangelo has backed the team into with bad to awful contracts of Bargnani, Calderon, and Turkoglu. The future of the team doesnt look great for Bosh. This is way as a canadian basketball who has a pulling interest for Toronto would not hold it against him for wanting to move to a winning destination. This raptor team as constructed has serious issues from management to players. Now I do wish that Bosh stays in Toronto however it does seem like a perfectly good idea to go to a chicago, or a miami. the raps are unfortunately a sinking ship
i wouldn't say they are sinking. Turkoglu is overpaid but they have some good youngsters. If Bosh had played 82 games they would be the 8th seed and everyone would be saying they are doing OK
People would still be very concerned with Bosh leaving and even then theyd probably get swept by CLE and they wouldnt even have a first rounder this year. Bargnani while I am a fan is probably a championship level 3rd option. he and calderon are both overpaid.DeRozan is solid too but apart from him and Barg they dont have any promising young talent
My Houston Rockets are really going to push hard for Bosh. I think we get it doen. Maybe a Sign & Trade & send someone like Ariza/Batter & Scola as well as some Picks (NY's?) & Hopefully we don't have to, but Budinger/Taylor? Two very good looking Rookies.
If that happens...A team with Brooks & Lowry @ the Point, K-Mart at the Two, Ariza/Battier at the 3, Bosh at the 4, & Yao at the 5 is Pretty Good. Then off the bench will be Jordan Hill, David Andersen, Budinger/Taylor, & possible other FA. But I know my Rockets are very high on Scola so it might not be done.
1st of all..The Vince Carter deal set this team back more then anyone has admitted. They basically gave away a guy who at the time of the trade was a top 10 NBA talent..They got nothing in return..But An aging Alonzo Mourning who didnt want to play there,2 career journeymen in Eric & Aaron Williams and a draft pick..That turned out to be Joey Graham..They could've gotten more..Every year the media overhype the Raptors saying they're 1 of the best teams in the East..Becuz they keep bringing in guys that were successful at other places..But do nothing with the Raptors..Toronto hasn't done a good job of adding the right pieces around Bosh ,that compliment his style of play...He's not a physical player ,yet that havent brought in a brute like a Buck Williams to do the dirty work..They seem to be loading the team up with skilled but soft players..Back iin 2006 Bosh lobbied through the media for them to draft Rudy Gay or Brandon Roy to play shooting guard or get LaMarcus Aldridge to play center because at the time he was their starting center..Instead they went for Bargnani..A nice talent, but they've yet to find his true NBA position..They overpaid for both Turkoglu & Calderon..Hedo had an amazing year with Orlando last season..But he hasnt fit in at all..Out of all the big name free agents this summer.. Bosh is the guy almost everyone agrees will leave his current team..Bosh has said he's a number 1 option and he wants to become a household name...But he knows if he goes to Miami .Wade is the main man..So does that means he's thinking bout Chicago or New York? In Chicago, Rose is the main man..But he's a pass 1st point guard..Bosh can still become the 1st option...
Pau Gasol should be traded in a sign and trade for Chris Bosh this offseason. The Raptors would recieve an allstar center which is something they have never had in the past. The Lakers get a young all star stud in Bosh. CB4 would be a much better fit to play along with Bynum than Gasol, due to his faceup game. Gasol is more effective when he is a back to the basket center not a powerfoward. Toronto will be able to play Bargnani at the 4, and he will be the faceup PF that will be able to play well with Gasol. This deal would be great for Bosh and Gasol. Gasol will also get to play with his close friend Calderon, which im shure he wouldn't mind at all. The Lakers just signed Gasol to an extenion this season, so the Raptors know at the end of the day that Gasol will be around for a few years and they will have nothing to worry about.
Future Laker Lineup:
Brown/Fisher/Possible Rookie(Willie Warren)
Kobe/Sasha/Possible Rookie(Lance Stephenson)
Artest/Walton/Possible Rookies(DeSean Butler, Herb Pope)
Bosh/Odom/Powell(Bosh's close friend)
I think Bosh is most likely to leave, as long as hes been there, he hasn't sniffed a championship, unlike some of the other major free agents that will be available this summer, and as long as hes been in Toronto, I dont think the team has made the necessary moves to lock him in.
Can't call were he'll be headed, but wouldn't be surprised if it was somewhere in Texas, he's been linked to Dallas and Houston, and Dallas is his hometown. I'd like to see him on the Knicks or Nets, but wherever he goes, I dont see him back in Toronto
Agreed. I see him leaving Toronto, though Toronto missing the playoffs just shows how much he meant to that team. If Bosh does leave they will struggle because they will have no go to guy, which is a must in the NBA almost every team in the playoffs has one on there roster.
If that deal happens Gasol for Bosh I may take a year off from watching the NBA because the lakers will be too good then.
