Opinions on Kirk Hinrich

How do you guys feel about his potential to be a star now? Ever since Rose was drafted i think peoples opinions of him have lowered but ive always liked him and before that awful 07-08 season I thought he was a borderline all star.In my opinion i think he could be a great starter on any team in the nba with the skillset he has.

Kirk

he will make a good bench player for the Bulls but I think the minutes he will be able to play with Rose is limited so....

Kirk

I think he could be a nice starter for a team who needs defense and leardership at PG.
I'm not saying he's limited to that, but that are his strengths, I guess.
And he probably won't become an allstar now, but more minutes would be nice for him, since he's a good player who's just stuck behind a young star.

Maybe he'd be a good fit for the Lakers because of his size and the defensive abilities.

Star? No.

The star/perennial all-star is the level for the elites, and Hinrich isn't on that level.

He is however a solid PG who could start for several teams. Lets not overrate him over one good game. But he is a good defender, doesn't make too many mistakes with the ball in his hands and can shoot the ball from deep on a decent level, which are attributes many teams look for in a PG. He's also a decent rebounder for a PG. He would be better if he were more consistent shooting the ball, and if he were a little more of a shot creator, but overall he doesn't have much in the way of major flaws, which is a plus.

Captain Kirk......

I read somewhere that Hinrich is the only white player to make the All-Defensive team the past decade..He has a massive wingspan & quick feet...Plus he plays with an attitude..League coaches rave about his on the ball defense..Dude has game...But he's playing out of position at shooting guard...

He can be a starting PG, and

He can be a starting PG, and a decent one at that. He hasn't played great the past 2 seasons because Rose has dominated the PG spot and has done the majority of the ball-handling. Hinrich needs the ball in his hands to be at his best, and he's played off the ball ALOT the past 2 years with Rose in town.

I've always liked Hinrich...

I've always liked Hinrich... Since his days at Kansas. He's definitely overpaid though.

hinrich

coaches can only dream to have more players like him on the floor. he is a top 15 defender in the league. i think he could be a star if he wasnt in rose's shadow. i seperate stars and superstars in the league. he is def not an all-star material because fans don't like defense. defense is the most underrated thing in the nba. there are very few players i would want guarding a guard on the last shot than him if any

A starting caliber point

A starting caliber point guard in the nba. An all-league defender (whether it be 1st or 2nd team). A tough guy every team would want and will do anything it takes to win. A knock down shooter with his feet set. Not a superstar though, I don't know who ever realistically had those expectations for him however. I know I surely didn't.

Kirk dropped 30 last night

Kirk dropped 30 last night in the win over Boston. I think he can be a servicable starting point guard or a valuable guard off the bench who can even play a little 2 guard due to his outside shooting. He is not on the same level as Rose, but I don't think being beat out by a phenom who is averaging 21 and 6 in his second year is that much of a knock. I think he is a nice compliment to Rose in Chicago, but I think he could start for another team without a true point guard, especially with a top notch post player, something he never had in Chicago( no I don't count Eddy Curry even in his good years ) to feed the ball.

I feel he could start for

Miami
Indiana
Toronto
Memphis
Washington
New York

Its not a terribly long list, but he's a top 30 point guard for sure.

he would start for way more teams than that

he could start at the two in a lot places too. he is a little undersized at the two but can make up for it with hustle and footspeed. plus if you have a big pg he could guard the one depending on the match up

I am a fan of Hinrich and i

I am a fan of Hinrich and i dont see him as a super star but he is definitely at All star talent who just happens to be out of favor because of Rose's great play and potential. He was a poor man's steve Nash with defense the year before his terrible year and since then and Rose coming on the scene he has been lost in the shuffle of NBA minutes and can't be move because of his contract and you will not get anybody back that would be as good.
