I'm sick and tired of this!
lebron is easily the mvp this year. I dont like him either, but he's better then durant. Durant does not have lebrons impact on the game in any area other then scoring. His defense, setting up teammates and dominating the boards are all well behind lebron. 60+ wins doesnt hurt either.
I don't think LeBron should win the defensive-player award. It should rather be Howard, or Smith.
But when it's about the MVP trophy I would allmost call it a tie between LeBron and Durant.
Both player mean everything to their teams, but I guess the cavs without LeBron would lose against the Thunder without Durant.
So LeBron probably is everything the cavs can truly rely on and that could make him a worthy candidate.
But that's just one opinion.
Dude u must've only been watching OKC games this year..Durant has had a breakout year..He's still going to finish 3rd in MVP voting behind Lebron & Kobe..Lebron has an effect on so many parts of the game..Plus he makes his team mates better..Thats something Jordan & Kobe figured out..Thats when they became MVP's..And something Durant has to come to terms with...Durant has a reputation as a scorer..In this league you have to win a title or carry your team far in the playoffs..Thats 1 of the reason McGrady hasn't gotten his proper due respect..He didnt win anything..Only a few years ago anyone was asking who was better T-Mac or Kobe? Kobe put an end to that debate by winning titles.And thats 1 of the reasons why he was so determined to win a title without Shaq..Saying Lebron doesn't deserve MVP has no merit..The guy has held his team together despite having several starters in & out of the lineup..Dont get me wrong..Durant has put that OKC team on his back and has them in the playoffs..They were 1 of the worst defensive teams last season..This season they're 1 of the best...Durant play this season has placed him in the top 5 players in the league...
LeBron might take MVP this yr but Durant is going to be better than him in the long run. And if he wins DPOY i am quitting the NBA all together. Does everyone forget that move that Melo put on him earlier this yr to win the game?? Cmon man its gotta be Howard hands down.
Man I watch a ton of basketball, I just call them like I see them. Durant is 21, has unmatched length + athleticism, and is a pure scorer which ALWAYS wins out. If you are a 2 or 3 then the best way to help your team win is by being a great pure scorer and that's what Durant does. LeBron is like an Oscar wit his numbers while Durant is like a Jordan or Kobe. Which one wins the championships at the end of the day?
as for coach of the year, not that i have a vote, but i think skiles would get my vote. However i said about 7 years ago that i would vote for jerry sloan every year until he got one regardless of who deserved it that year. Sloan not having one is wrong.

As good as Durant's been he hasn't earnt the MVP over Lebron or even Kobe. Maybe in a few years when he's increased his versatility, but at the moment Lebron's ability to pass, rebound, score and play defence make him the clear cut MVP.
He doesn't deserve the DPOY though
I like him too, much better than Lebron in fact, but he is straight up will NEVER be the all around player Lebron is. Lebron is literally better at every facet of the game. And it's not as though Durant completely outscores Lebron either, since they are almost dead even on that front.

LeBron James is the MVP this season hands down. Durant has great stats too and has led his team to the playoffs, but the difference between he and LeBron is fourth quarter scoring and performance. LeBron is better than Durant at every single offensive/performance fourth quarter statistic.
I like Durant a lot though. He dominates offensively without dominating the ball, which means he allows his teammates to play their roles. He's improved a lot this year too. He still has a ton of room to improve, but he's creating for his teammates better. He's also playing better defense on and off the ball. You really have to love the situation that he's in too. He's on a young team that's built around him and they're growing/winning together. He's going to get a couple of MVP's in the future.
i haven't heard anything saying he is the dpoy but lebron did the exact same thing a few years ago that durant is doing now and he didn't get the mvp. the mvp goes to the best player on the best team (or one of the best teams).
dpoy is dwight's and second place isn't any where close.
Also how can you say the don't say anything about lebron, when he was "unclutch" against boston he got killed on espn. But when kobe misses 2 free throws nobody says a word.
Lebron is gonna be MVP. Durant has stepped up by being a superior scorer and a good leader for his team but Lebron is going to get MVP. I like Kobe over Lebron but you are blind if you think Lebron has not been the best player this regular season. Deep down I hope and think if Kobe and Lebron meet in the playoffs Kobe shows he is still the best player on the planet.
Ok but lebron has done many things in clutch situations and in that game he had 22 in the fourth just to make a situatin where he needed the free throws and people said he wasn't clutch.
My point to that was related to the main post when he said espn was on lebron's dick, they are but it's not like they don't do that for every good player.
Also the reason the thunder have improved so much from 23 wins is because of Durant but also the MIPOY in Russell Westbrook. Also having james harden coming in doesn't hurt.
Im sick and tired of espn and others bein all over lebrons dick. Im not a lebron hater, or a cav hater. im just statin the truth. lebron is not this years mvp, or even near DPOY. nearly every analysis has lebron mvp, when idk how he is. personally i think durant is the mvp, hes done more than lebron this yr. that is all.
