Larry Brown Back To Philly?
I don't understand...I keep hearing MJ allowed Brown to go back to Philly. What's going on/
just read about it. Apparently he wants out of charlotte and he will either go back to philly or maybe back to the clippers if they throw a bunch of money at him.
I saw a footnote about it and it said he will go back to Philly.
I don't know if he's going back as a coach, GM....I dunno. I also believe this could be a big mistake.
big mistake for who? I think brown feels comfortable in philly and he wouldnt have to worry about dealing with iverson or any crazy expectations right away. Or did you mean a mistake by jordan for letting him go? In that case, yeah it sucks for the cats, but they are close and if brown said he wanted out, i would let him out. Honestly, i've never been a fan of keeping a coach who wants out. If i was an owner and my coach said let me out, he would be let go immediately. there are a ton of good coaches out there and a coach who isnt committed isnt really gonna help things much anyways.
Big Mistake for Larry Brown.
Plus...I wonder who could be in place to get the Charlotte job in the offseason
whyy the bobcats just got good
browns family is in philadelphia area...... hence the reason why MJ would let him leave for there... In addition only way brown does it if stefanski gets fired too, and hes making the calls... Philly.com for more info!
do u guys follow larry brown? took d manning n clips to playoffs n bolted... made philly into a winner and bolted. detroit the same... now bobcats the same..
Brown is like the auto body shop which tells u " u dont need a new tire, i can just plug the one u have"........
LB aka QUICK FIX.
lmao @ the microwave. sooooo true!!
but really, i like LB as a coach. he knows how to turn teams around.
but if he wants back here as GM, team prez, or VP of ANYTHING...i'll pass. people 4get when he was here before he was coach AND VP of bball operations. he turned the team into a winner, but it was destined to be short term because he traded young talent and draft pics for aging and overachieving role players. when those guys' salaries started to go up and their skills/durability went down...he bounced on us and left us with no 1st rounders and mutumbo, snow, harpring and mckie signed for like 100 years. those 4 had, MAYBE, 1 good knee left between them!!
oh, and...HE'S THE ONE THAT BROUGHT DERRICK COLEMAN BACK...AGAIN!!!
gimme kiki vanderwedgie as my GM. look at NJ and Den. when a team is capped out and crappy, he knows how to unload contracts and blow things up REAL quick. if anyone can unload Brand and Iguadala fast, it'll be him
i def love him when hes there, and he aggravates me when he leaves, but ill take him back in a heartbeat lol... (philly fan here)
Over-seeing everything ( wouldnt be my cup of tea, but the 3 edded monster isnt doing anything to win me over)
Awesome for my hometown team. Larry Brown did so much for the sixers and it will be great to have him back. I'm pretty sure he will be a hell lot better than Eddie Jordan, a hiring that I never understood from the get-go. Sixers fans should be excited to have him back.
Now we will play defense!!!
Larry Brown wants to go back to Phili because his family lives there.
Also the fact that both the GM and the coach for 76ers would likely be fired, Larry Brown would be able to get both jobs and he's a control freak that wants to control the entire team from top to bottom (that's why he always got into power struggle with his upper management).
LA Clippers is in a similar situation where both GM and coach position are open. However, knowing that Donald Sterling is a cheap owner, I am not sure if he would pay enough for Larry Brown to jump ship.
I think Michael Jordon is doing him a favor by letting Larry Brown deciding on what to do. If he can't get the 76ers job, I think Larry Brown is likely to stay with the Bobcats.
