BEST PG from last seasons draft in 3 yrs...
here are the main PG's from this past draft. In the order they were drafted...Tyreke Evans, Ricky Rubio, Johnny Flynn, Stephen Curry, Brandon Jennings, Jrue Holiday, Ty Lawson, Jeff Teague, Eric Maynor, Darren Collison, Tony Douglas, AJ Price,Patty Mills... I left out the players playing overseas with the exception of Rubio since hes so hyped.... The youngest player of this core is Jrue Holiday...
Jrue Holiday will be the best PG from this draft w/in 3 yrs.. Here is why I think so. First off, he is currently the YOUNGEST player in the entire NBA.he is 19, and will not be 20 until June 12th.... Since becoming a full time starter for philly he has been more than solid IMO...shot 40 % from 3, in march he averaged 13 ppg, and in april he averaged 11 ppg... Significant increases over the first part of the year. i feel already that he is the BEST on the ball defender on Philly (not saying much i know), but also hands down the best on the ball defender out of all the rookies listed above. Hes got great size 6'4", and once he fills out a lil more i think he will surpass the jennings, lawsons, and even the tyrekes of this world. His passing and court vision is nice, but his D definitely sets him apart.
Am i way of base?? I truly feel the potential is there. Right now id put tyreke, lawson, curry, jennings, flynn, collison ahead of him... but not for long!
Any thoughts>? Feel free to attack me, im sure ill get some mixed FB here, but just an honest opinion
Best PG? Its a toss between Curry and Jennings. I did not put Reke there because he's a SG for me. xD
I haven't seen enough of him to judge his game but he's definately improving.
Jennings needs to stop shooting so many 3's he's been off from behind the arc after a great 1st 2 months.
2 -11, 1-8 recently its not his strength take the ball to the hoop or pass.
I think he will be good but I dont know about the best. Tyreke Evans looks like Lebron minus 2 inches. Curry will always produce if he is in a good system. Jennings with the 55 and stuff. IDK man. That is a bold statement you are making. You could be right because Jrue has the size and ability to be great but its a long shot.
I put a dollar on Darren Collison, he's been able to put impressive stats whenever he was given playing time.
dont know about best pg in this draft, but holiday is certainly capable of being one of the top pg's in the league. As a bruin fan, i have watched him a ton this year. SOme people say he putting ok numbers on a bad team. But i see the potential there. HIs on ball defense is already near the top 10% of the league. His shooting has been better then i expected. He is doing pretty well for a 19 year old and has all the tools to get much better.
Brandon jennings will be da best he is a pure point guard n he can shoot da 3 not as consistent as curry thou..tyreke evans is more of a combo so I won't count him but I like him..My top 3 is brandon jennings, stephen curry, johnny flynn
Please don't sleep on Roddy Beaubois
I honestly dont like flynn that much. I would take evans, curry, jennings, collison, holiday, beaubois, and maybe even lawson over him as pg's for the future.
Brandon Jennings!!! What he have done already is big time rookie season and he is still 20 he has SO MUCH ways to get better.
guys im refering to 3 yrs down the line, aside from a few of you most seem to be basing opinions w/o development..
games against JRUES D......
Jennings shot 4-17 LOL
jennings shot 4-9
collison 7-14 (this was a good game)
anything b4 this Jrue was not getting regular minutes... One thing is for sure, he has no problem LOCKING up brandon Jennings... EASY WORK... Curry 8-22 HMM....Collison did ball out vs us. So the last 5 rookie stars he played only 1 shot over 50 %.... ialso never said hed average more pts than Reke, more assists than jennings, or more 3's than Curry.
i said the BEST OVERALL PG in the draft... combination Of D / O / feel for the game / instincts / etc...... I guess you have to view head to head matchups..Jennigns shot a combined 16-44 against jrue.... LOL, 36 % sounds about right.
I rememba draftexpress had the Knicks taking Jrue Holiday based on potential of course they blew it and took Hill.
Can't believe pass on so many PG's.
He has a chance to be mentioned there but still Curry and Jennings will also improve and they are already better is some aspects. Jennings had led his team to the playoffs despite his shooting percentages which should get better. I think next year, he should not shoot less than 42 percent and should averarge close to 18 points with 9 assists with 2 steals. Jennings is also young. yall forget Holiday went to college but Jennings went overseas. Holiday has yet to lead his team to do anything. He has potential but still so do all these other guys.
no doubt hes done nothing yet as far as leading his tm.. Personally my sixers ahve been horrible this year, no doubt..... We usually rely on our d and other than Jrue it has been non-existent including Iggy....I just see VERY HIGH potential there.
I would have to go w/ Curry. My reasoning is; He has the "pure" jumpshot, ability to dish and more importantly, wants to get everyone involved. Lest we forget, Monta stated that he couldn't play w/ this guy. Curry understands his strengths and utilizes them to the best of his abilities.
I will say... 'Reke will be the most dominant but in terms og PG play, Curry hands down.
Jrue Holiday will NOT be the best PG i this draft in 3 years. As a matter of fact, I'd be shocked if he was any better than Jarrett Jack. If you think Jrue Holiday is really this good, then you think the same way about Toney Douglass, who's pretty much the exact same player Holiday is. Holiday has gotten higher assist and scoring numbers, but that's due to the long leash he's on right now as the coaches give young guys time (notice how another young guy for Philly,Jodie Meeks, has been playing lately offensively?) without them having to worry about mistakes and TO's. I'm not buying into this Jrue Holiday being the best PG in this class in 3 years thing. I think Curry, Jennings, and Beaubois for sure will be better, and I think Jonny Flynn can be as well. I guess you can throw Evans in there too, but I don't look at him as a PG.
LMFAO u must not watch... Meeks had few good scoring games once thad was shelved for the yr / lou was having back issues ... Please enlighten me on Meeks success, or possibly watch a philly gm, then realize it was the last 5 GAMES only...feel free to peep stats in the ENTIRE month of march / April for Jrue..You obviously dont watch my sixers often. Love debating with the people who actually dont have a clue...Name one rookie mentioned above, that is a better on the ball defender than jrue is today.... Just look at who jrue covers every game.. Ill say for one its not the same guys curry is covering... thats a fact...
"Please enlighten me on Meeks success, or possibly watch a philly gm, then realize it was the last 5 GAMES only..."
That's why I said lately.
And only Collison is as good/better defensively. But you have to remember, there is another side of the ball besides defense. When I watch Philly games, I see Holiday getting stats but also turning over the ball and not always showing court awareness. He is a pretty vanilla player who can only create for others effectively if he has a strong pick. He's not at creating for others in isos and things like that. I'm not going to argue about whether I watch 76er games, because I know I do though. And I don't see anything that suggests that he can be as good as the 3 guys I mentioned, or Collison who I forgot about previously. Don't take this last month to seriously, he's going to be on a shorter leash next season. Trust me.
I gotta go with Jennings.....its a tough choice with him Curry, and Tyreke.....
