zach extension

Yahoo sports has an article containing partial info. about Zbo wanting an extension in Memphis. He says he wants to stay in Memphis. He's asking for what Pau Gasol got for his extension. Pau and Zach roughly received the same contract offers when Pau was in Memphis and Zach was in portland.

My thoughts? Let's make sure we keep Rudy Gay before any offers go to Zach this summer. I do like the idea of Zach wanting to stay, and I'm sure he has about 3-4 good years left in him.

Your thoughts?

Zach had a great season. I

Zach had a great season. I beleive Pau got an extension for about 17 million a year which is max type money. If I knew Zach was gonna play like that every single season, then yeah i mihgt give it to him. But I still think Pau is slightly better plus the lakers as a franchise can afford to pay a little more then market value, not sure memphis would want to do that with zach.

IMO, they need to have Rudy

IMO, they need to have Rudy Gay as the first priority. Randolph was great this year but I thought, just watching about 7 games, that he was taking shots from Mayo and Gasol. Gay was still getting his looks but I thought that the other 2 really suffered. Also, it seemed that he took shots that didnt need to be taken. That being said, if they can get him for 12 million a year and for only a couple more years, I would do it as long as I had money to keep Gay.

ya

It's a hesitant thing, I agree Perez. I am confident he'll put up #'s like he did this season for atleast the next 2 seasons...unless injuries take place. I think if the Grizzlies made the right draft choices and put together a playoff run, they'll be able to start affording these prices.

8, I agree. I feel matching any offer to Rudy Gay (unless it's a max offer) should be the Grizzlies first decision this summer; then Zbo.

The shots thing is something that should be worked on over the summer...for sure sir.

They can wait on ZBo, Rudy

They can wait on ZBo, Rudy Gay first. No one is going to give ZBo what he is asking for, so he'll be waiting for a while. As a ZBo fan, I hope he stays in Memphis and continues achieving success there. I think he still has another 4-5 good years left, so he is definitely worth 6 years, maybe 7 but that's pushing it. He turns 29 this july, and is a very good power forward offensively, if he has the attitude he has this whole season for the next 4-5 years I expect him to do some amazing things. Grizzlies need a true point guard, I don't believe in Conley being that guy, an Andre Miller type who gets everyone into the game.

i think gay is more

i think gay is more important to them than zbo right now. especially since zbo is already locked up for next year AND if anything happens (zb demands trade) they have a pretty got center in "baby gasol" who can give sum decent production in the paint. also, i'm as skeptical as the rest of u about zbo's desire and durability once he's got longterm money.
