Larry Sanders declaring for draft

I am a VCU alum, and I'm hearing from people on campus that Larry Sanders is declaring for the draft and hiring an agent. As a fan of both the school and him, I am not a huge fan of this move. Sanders is not NBA ready both skill and body wise...but he is a very fast learner and is a great teammate. I really wanted to see him carry VCU on his back and take them back to the NCAA tourney. His numbers have improved but not to where I thought and others thought it would. Skill wise he has improved alot but still has alot of room to grow...With alot of people coming out this year, its hard for me to see him to go into the lottery, I guess he's entering because of the CBA supposedly changing after this draft.

If OKC keeps both their

If OKC keeps both their picks, I would love to see them draft him. Maynor-Sanders combo off the bench? Would be awesome.

Isn't a Maynor-Saners combo

Isn't a Maynor-Saners combo just a clone of the Maynor-Ibaka combo?
But I'd take the Ibaka one as he's proven more already

Maynor/Sanders

was a pretty damn good college twosome.....it doesn't matter I am just in favor of the Thunder taking guys who have huge upside with both of their picks....

REAL value?
I think for all intents and purposes, Larry Sanders will play a Solomon Jones/ Amir Johnson kind of role for his first couple years in the league at least. I just don't see a huge value in that.

Amir Johnson is looking real

Amir Johnson is looking real good right now and he came out of high school so I would think Sanders would be a little bit further in his development. Also if this guy graduated in 3 years, he is pretty smart or savy and that should help. I dont think he would be good for OKC though. He is not the dominating big man they need and they have enough young bigs on the bench.

Having watched Larry Sanders

Having watched Larry Sanders play live the past 2 years the biggest difference between last year and this year is Sanders had a bad attitude. He lost both his head coach and starting point guard and had a tough team with the new coach and being the person to run the team. I think OKC should draft him to reunite him with Maynor, he will play harder and be motivated again. He is a very quick learner, so I can see him doing well early into his rookie year. I hate VCU, but I wish Larry the best of luck. Glad I won't have to see him anymore.
