Mock Lottery with..

Hey guys,
Just curious what you think of my mock lottery (scroll to the bottom of the link if you want to see the whole thing)
Love constructive criticism, so send it my way if you have beef on my order, analysis, or my site in general.

Jazz would not draft Monroe.

Jazz would not draft Monroe. At the beginning of the season, I would have been ecstatic with Monroe. He does fit their system, but after seeing him play this year, I was not too impressed. And now I do not want him, and I actually think Booz will stay. They need a SF. Someone like Aminu or Johnson would be perfect for them. If the Jazz miss out on both Johnson and Aminu then expect the Jazz to pick Patterson in case Booze leaves. He has leadership(which by the way the Jazz LOVE leadership), he has improved every year, and he has no motivation problems like Monroe does.

Henry might be a little high at 7 as well as Whiteside. But I would not rule out Whiteside to the Kings, you made a good point in your reasoning.

Other then that not bad.

Not Whiteside

The first few picks seem to be alright. However, I do not think the Sacramento Kings would take Whiteside that early. I am not a big fan of him because he puts up these numbers on such a bad team in such a bad conference. If the Kings were going to take a big man, they would most likely select Monroe. And I believe that thinking that Bledsoe would go number 9 is incredibly ridiculous because I believe he should not come out of the draft. I mean he could not handle West Virginia's defense which is good, but imagine him getting man covered by people a lot bigger and a lot stronger than him. I think Bledsoe is immature and I KNOW that the Pacers would regret taking him and he would have to put on a serious show for scouts for him to be taken in the top 25 picks. To be 100 percent honest, they either need to pray that they get the top pick in the draft, or they need to wait until the second round to take a point guard because it is not worth wasting a lottery pick on Bledsoe because he is just not that good. I do agree that Udoh is a great player and should be a lotto pick, he is long and athletic and raw which is perfect for the NBA.

Good points

DWill- Thanks for your compliment and I think your take on drafting Monroe is very interesting. I like Patterson to the Jazz a ton!

Redford4three- Yeah, I don't especially like Whiteside, but I think GM's will bite on his upside. For Bledsoe, I don't think he's THAT good, but there's no denying he's either the second/third/fourth best point guard in the draft..

Very

Very unconventional. It's hard for me to see Bledsoe, Henry or Whiteside being drafted that high, despite team needs.

Unlike dwilljazz8, I think that Monroe would be a perfect fit for the Jazz, whether we keep Booze or not. He does not have motivational concerns, he just doesn't have a killer scoring instinct.

Most sites have a top 9 in stone (this site has a top 5). You will see, John Wall, Evan Turner, DeMarcus Cousins, Derrick Favors, Wesley Johnson, Eddie Davis, Greg Monroe, Cole Aldrich and Al-Farouq Aminu as the top 9 picks (though the order changes). It's very possible somebody falls, but right now there is little doubt that those 9 players will all be top 10 picks, as there is a big-time drop in talent after. So the fact that you have Eddie Davis and Cole Aldrich falling out of the lottery is a little puzzling.

I like unconventional mocks like yours though. Very interesting.
