Cousins Agent "The number one pick will be from UK but not a PG."

This is on Yahoo! Sports and it seems kind of crazy.

Lets think about what would have to go wrong for Wall to be knocked off the number one pick.

Also, lets look at separate things that need to go right for Cousins to be the number one pick.

For Wall to not be the number one pick, a couple of these things would have to go wrong.

1. An injury - Nobody likes to see an injury but with all the preparation workouts he will be doing, it is not crazy to think he could be injured. Im sure he will opt to not play in any up and down games or workouts before the draft but everyone knows you can fall in the shower and tear your ACL (cough cough Pryzbilla).

2. Bad workouts + Great workouts - Wall would have to prove that he isnt as great an athlete that everyone thinks he is AND someone else would have to explode with a crazy vert and some incredible speed.

3. Wrong bounce of the ball - If a team with a great PG got the first pick, they could pass on Wall if they have a need at the SG or C/PF spot.

For Cousins to be the number one pick, a couple of these things would have to happen.

1. An injury - An injury. Just like the first one. Wall, Turner, or someone ahead of him would need an injury.

2. A fantastic workout - If he has a 35 inch vertical, he could jump to top 2. If he proves that he can move with great speed and quickness and drops 10-15 pounds it would help. Also, his bench press could help lift him some..

3. Correct bounce of the ball - If the team that wins the lottery feels like they have a PG and SG that can carry them, they could pick Cousins.

4. Change of image - If somehow he could change his image, which has been in question this whole year, he could bump up a couple spots. I dont know how he could do this but that is something that could scare GMs away. If this changed he could be top 2.

This is a lot of "ifs." Alot of this if not all of this would have to happen for Cousins to go number one. A big man can change a franchise but so can a PG.

Do you think there is any chance that Cousins goes number 1??

I doubt it happens but do

I doubt Cousins moves to number but he could wind up being like Shaq and being one of the most dominant bigs to be drafted in the past 2 decades of so.

It's not that crazy of a

It's not that crazy of a statement. If you look at the teams right now that have a shot at #1: NJ, Minn, Sac/GS/Wash it would make sense for most of these teams to go big instead of pg. I'm not saying it would happen but it's certainly not out of the realm of logic. Assuming the teams don't trade the pick...
NJ has Harris and the thought of a frontcourt of Lopez and Cousins sounds pretty sweet. Yi off the bench or playing the 3 with Lee and CDR at the 2...sounds better than Harris and Wall in the backcourt with Lopez and Yi in the front. Turner is another option, I'm not a huge Lee fan.
Minn and drafting Pgs is like the lions and WRs so it wouldnt surprise me but I think they would go Evan Turner before either Wall or Cousins
Sac has a guard combo that works well together and you don't trade a rookie that won ROY and went 20/5/5. Wall and Evans backcourt on paper sounds good but seeing him and Martin makes you think twice. Plus they NEED a big...BADLY. If they got the first pick they could go Cousins over Wall and Turner.
GS has curry and ellis and there's no way they take wall unless they trade Curry which could happen...if they could trade ellis, wall and curry would make a ridiculous backcourt.
Washington is probably the only team that NEEDS a pg, and they need everything except a PF so it's between Wall and Turner and you have to think they'd go Wall.
I think there is a real chance there are a lot of trades in the draft this year, especially in the top 5, with all of the free agency and everything it should be one of the most fun offseasons ever.

mwardia, I really doubt he

mwardia, I really doubt he cares if there is tension. I mean they both are entering the draft, its not like they are returning to school where they would be playing together again.

Wall and Turner are so much

Wall and Turner are so much better than Cousins that there's no way Cousins can be drafted first. His agent should shut his mouth and focus on getting the job done for his client.

No reason to be ripping his

No reason to be ripping his agent guys. He is doing his job. He's got people talking about his client and that is what he is suppose to do. It the reason why Drew Rosenhaus is considered one of the best agents in the NFL. As long as they get his name out there thats all they want.

mwardia, your post doesn't

mwardia, your post doesn't make sense...

"dymes u never knw tho. cousins is def good enough to be pikced in top3, but not 1st. NO WAY"

I never said he was going 1st. I have said only John Wall or Evan Turner will go 1st. What are you yelling at me about? All I said was his agent is just doing his job. I don't understand you.

Um...Yeah that statement was

Um...Yeah that statement was crazy, to whoever thinks otherwise. It actually sounds like something Cousins himselft would say. If John Wall doesnt go number 1, Evan Turner will. Theres just no way Demarcus Cousins goes number 1. Unless they think Patrick Patterson or Darnell Dodson are going Number 1??? (point stealers I'm joking)

Actually i think Dodson has

Actually i think Dodson has a better chance than him of being the top pick...... in the D-league draft.

Clearly some agents are

Clearly some agents are being biased. There is a possibility that Wall is not the first pick , but the chances that the #1 pick is from Kentucky and not Wall, are slim to none. Cousins would have to really behave, and really impress. I doubt this happens. Its either Wall or Turner. But honestly its to early to tell who is going #1. We need to wait until the Lottery is over with, and we know who has won it.

he should be....

I think the main thing that wouldhave to happen is that Minnesota or NJ have to not get the number 1 pick.....neither one needs a center at all they both have centers as the current centerpieces of their future plans....Cousins could possibly find a spot for him but I think they would just as soon take Evan Turner for whom they have more of a need for.....its really a silly statement for the agent to make a) because they have no idea who is picking at 1 yet and b) it kind of sounds like a shot at his teammate which is exactly the thing that is the big question about Cousins in the first place and what probably will make him NOT the first pick.....

that being said, in 10 years all the teams who pass on him will be sorry when its all said and done....his agent is just a retard....

Watch out

Watch out midwestbballscout...His agent might hack the site and steal your points...apparently that happens if you say anything negative about anybody. Golly point stealers.
