How tall are they really???
This is something that always bothers me. Height seems to be a huge deal in the NBA but there are so many discrepancies on how tall people are that its just crazy. I mean think about it. Height is such a big deal that 1 inch can cause you to drop in the draft. If Steph Curry was 6'1 instead of 6'3 he would have gone much later. It is crazy. When Beasley was 6'8 instead of 6'10, everyone doubted if he would even be effective in the NBA.
I am blown away by some of this stuff. IMO, Danielle Orton is taller than his teammate Cousins even though Cousins is listed as 6'11 while Orton is listed at 6'10. Standing side by side, I thought Orton was taller.
Joe Johnson is 6'7-6'8. When he stands next to Kobe, who is listed at 6'6, he looks almost 4 inches taller. So that means that Johnson is close to 6'10 or Kobe is really 6'4.
When Lebron was teammates with Ben Wallace, you could clearly see that Lebron was taller even though Wallace was listed at 6'9 and Lebron at 6'8.
My challenge to you:
Post some video or some pictures that show that the heights listed for NBA or college players are wrong.
If it is such a big deal, height that is, shouldnt there be some kind of regulation on the types of shoes players can wear?? Should everyone be officially measured at the start of every year??
It seems to be a deal maker or a deal breaker before players make the NBA but after they are there, its no longer regulated.
What are your thoughts?

Height is so weird. For instance, Elton Brand was criticized for being undersized, because he was listed at 6'8, but it turned out he was a legit 6/8 without shoes, which is slightly above average for pf. This is a very telling link..http://www.draftexpress.com/nba-pre-draft-measurements/?page=avepos&year=All. The average NBA shooting guard is probably listed around 6'5-6'6 in the NBA, when they measure out to only 6'3.59 without shoes.
lebron and kobe
I remember reading a Sports Ilustrated article which stated that Ben Wallace was 6'9 with his afro, so that means he's probably 6'6 with braids or a short haircut. Making a big deal about an inch is ridiculous, especially when you talk about with or without shoes. I personally don't care how tall a guy is without shoes, simply because you play the game WITH shoes on. It's damn near impossible to tell someone's height from a video or picture, unless they have a height chart behind them or they're next to someone of similar height. I remember seeing a picture of Acie Law with his arm around Stephen Curry, and Law definitely looked taller.
Thats what I mean OJJ.. Standing beside people who are supposed to be taller or shorter is an example of how its all screwed up..
And then you have to take each person's posture into consideration. I think that a lot of people are overestimating just how much an inch actually is.
6'3 Chauncey Billups and 6'4 OJ Mayo
Pause at 4:10
Orton, Cousins, and Pat Patterson.
c/s orangejuice posture is under estimated
People talk about height in shoes because it puts everyone on the same level (no pun intended)....some guys show up at the draft combine with shoes that give them 2 inches and other guys show up with shoes that give them 1/2 an inch, so looking at their height without shoes makes everything more relative and fair.
