What to make of Geno?
Personally IDK how great of a coach he would make in Mens NCAA or NBA. I think he is a decent coach but not great, and his success at UCONN is now primarily built on the fact that he can get pretty much any player he wants at this point. What do you guys think of him? Great coach or just a dominating recruiter on the team with the highest prestige in womens hoops?
2nd part question...
Whats whats worth more to a city/institution...Geno or Geno's. If you know philly u know what i mean.
Geno Auriemma is the truth. He built that program and has had many players come in to play for him before just Maya Moore & Tina Charles. He also has said numerous times that he could take over a men's program and dominate anywhere. There's also a debate going about UCONN's run being bad for basketball. That debate is absurd. Was Tiger Woods' dominance bad for golf? Were the New England Patriots bad for football when they won Super Bowl after Super Bowl & were trying to go undefeated? Have the New York Yankees dominance over time with their 27 championships been bad for baseball? NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! All of these have been good for their sport and good for sports in general.
I doubt he could dominate the men's game like the women's because the talent pool is so much deeper.
He wouldn't do the same in Men's. It's a completely different game. There are many coaches that were really good in college but horrible in the NBA.
I hope they lose to Baylor and Griner has 30 points, 20 rebounds and 10 blocks.
I have a strange feeling they are going to lose to Baylor. I think Griner may have a big-time impact too. I'll wait though, cause I'm probably wrong.
he wouldn't dominate the mens game. nobody can. just look at roy williams wins the title one year and then NIT the next. Talent pool is soooo much deeper than in the womens game. He can build a strong program i believe that but he wont be as dominant as he is right now.
UConn will best Baylor by atleast 20 points.
