Which analyst NBA or NCAA can you not stand?
he isn't really an analyst for any one sport but i hate both jim rome and skip bayless.
and the celtic announcers, most bias people i've ever heard.
Yah, Gottlieb has a stick firmly planted up his ass. For me, it is Jon Berry. Ever since ESPN OTL interviewed him on the lack of white american NBA players. He seriously thought white american players were sterotyped and not given equal oppurtunity to enter the league. All the other people interviewed said things like "Times have changed, access to a much larger pool of players, advanced scouting etc...", "Ability on the court is what matters, not skin color." Berry sounded so incredibly dumb that I lost all respect for him.
Mike Gorman is OK but still a bit biased but boy, Tommy Heinsohn needs to shut up and call the play as it is instead of arguing all calls that does not go the Celtics' way... Comcast should review Heinsohn's ability as an announcer/analyst because he does a poor job at it...
Jay Bilas is an expert but there are times where he got wrong in predicting outcomes... Number one example? Josh Smith who got drafted 17th in 2004... He didn't even gave Josh the chance to celebrate when Bilas named him as the first "draft bust" in that draft... (WOW)... Look at J-Smoove now...
there are a lot of bad announers you guys are mentioning. I bring up tommy heinsohn of the celtics all the time and still have yet to hear anyone ever defend him. Even celtic fans knows hes bad.
imma name one im suprised no one has mentioned. probably because he hasnt been on for a minute. ...bill walton
on a different note the one i like most is jeff van gundy...he knows basketball yet hes funny as hell as well
mike rice of the portland trail blazers gets really annoying and i hate how one sided he is but i have to give him some credit he has grown on me over the past 4 seasons. reggie and cheryl miller are the worst... i hate them both
ha thats funny, i was just going to say i hate marc jackson and jeff van gundy. marc says stupid, obvious sh*t, and his voice is annoying, and gundy is the least funniest guy ever, and he looks dead 1/2 the time! but i do realize alotta people like them!
I don't like:
Skip bayless
Jim Rome
The douche bag espn anchor that comes on at 6pm every day, forget his name
Bill walton
I like:
Doug Gottelib
Tony Kornheiser
Dan Lebatard
Colin Cowherd
Jay Bilas
Dicky V
It doesn't really bug me but have anyone heard the raptors announcers. they emphasize at the wrong times, they get all excited when someone gets a wide open dunk but ignore an actual good play.
yeah, marv is great. Glad to see him come back from that almost career ending scandal.
loved dickie v..me and my teammates had one of our nerdy roomates make a dickie v audio intro for us to use before some of our games. he knows how to get a player hyped
I cant stand Matt devlin from the raptors, as said above he emphasizes the wrong parts of the game and gives every player a stupid, takes the observational skills of a rock nickname. Also doesnt help that he replaced chuck swirsky who was one of my favorite announcers ever.
The Celtics announcers are byfar the worst...there bias is beyond belief
Someone on the Celtics can straight up punch an opponent in the face, and they'll find some way to defend him, its almost unreal
Also dont like Dicky V, hes such a legend in the worst of college basketball, but hes just really annoying to me..
Stephen A. Smith, despite having to dramatically turn down the volume on my TV, he wasnt all that bad..
I hate Billy Packer and anyone who isn't Bill Rafferty...
this fould was like Jay Bilas at the dinner table....a small changer....
I don't like Jonathan Coachman. At all. Like, if Jonathan Coachman was a disease, his symptoms would be:
A terrible cough, one that involves mucus
Sore throat
Fever
Swollen ankles
Migraine headache
Nausea
Inability to bend one's left elbow comfortably
Runny nose
Itchy, red eyes
Maybe it has something to do with his WWE days............
Eric Snow
Steve Smith
Tim Legler
Mark Jackson he is terrible
Kenny Smith
I also dont like Skip Bayless he is always so negative I think he always takes the negative side just to get people's reaction.
yeah eric snow was lifeless last year on nba tv now he is lifeless but has the energy to yell SPART DOG! or other things i cant even hear or understand
Rick Kamla is great
and im suprised by how good Kevin McHale and Chris Webber
youre right GatHator eric snow is terrible he is so boring why does he even have that type of job he doesnt have the personality for it he is treating this job just like his career mediocre. Mchale and Webber do work well together but not better than Payton and Webber.
For espn there are tons. I learn to just deal with them, and quirky sides. But of for TNT, its Charles Barkley, great player, but sometimes his opinions are just flat out weird. And then his jokes are not even that funny.
Steven A. Smith is the greatest as is Skip Bayless, but Jay Bilas kind of gets on my nerves, because he says the most obvious things and his predictions are always wrong.
worst: kenny smith and charles barkley
followed closely by: bill walton, cheryl miller, doris burke, skip bayless, stephen a. smith
top announcer ever: kevin calabro
Dickie V is far and away the worst. He yells too much and gets overly excited over routine plays. More importantly, he spends too much time talking about his personal experiences and almost no time doing his job, which is analyzing the basketball game. Sometimes I wonder if he understands the role of an analyst.
Charles Barkley is right behind him as he often proves how little he knows. But on the plus side, I like the fact that Barkley speaks his mind.
Mike Fratello is similar to Dickie V in that he rarely does his primary job, which is analyzing the game. A good analyst explains why Team A is doing well and Team B is playing poorly. Fratello spends far too much time describing replays which we can see with our own eyes.
I think the two best and most knowledgeable analysts are Doug Collins and Hubie Brown. They do the job they're getting paid to do, which is to analyze the game, explaining why Team A is winning and why Team B is losing.
don't ever say some dumb &$#%#&@! like that about Charles again.....

For me its Doug Gottlieb. I hate the fact that he has a smart ass comment to make about everything. Its like when the other analyst say something positive about a program he goes out of his way to put them down with some kind of joke.
honorable mentions
dickie v
stephen a. smith
reggie/cheryl miller
