They desperately need a point in this years draft because Mike Conley just don't cut it; who do you possibly see them drafting at that position possibly at 14 or with the later first round picks and why? ......I know the peoples clear cut choice would be Bledsoe unanimously I assume.
desperately? hes a pretty good defender gets a good 5ast a game and doesnt take alot of shots..they dont need another scoring pg so im not sure what other point guard they would need?..bledsoe would clearly be a step down.. he hasnt shown any good set up ability while turning the ball over almost as much as passing. mikes clearly a better pg now and when he was in college. mike also scores when they want him to score more not sure what other pg they need.. when you have a bunch of scores, rebounders, and a sg who can also score rebound and pass then what more do you need youre pg to do?
i dont like conley too much, but he is not a major weakness that has to be addressed. I dont see any pg's outside of wall coming and being better then conley is. Just best player available. Even if there is a starter already at that position, the grizz bench is weak so they need depth.
I was just wondering who the possibilities would be because it's almost a lock they're going to take one.
I agree. Conley is not a top tier PG. He's good not great. Maybe call and see if they can bring back the Monta Ellis deal?
monta wouldnt work..hes a scorer they dont need a scoring pg..and mike isnt great but hes good and servicable which is all they need. i dont agree its a lock that they pick a pg since there arent many real good pg out there and if they wanted one it would be collins easily over bledsoe. my guess is they get the best player avaliable to help make there bench stronger because they are set as far as starters
I can see Willie Warren as a sleeper since he's 50/50 ; has the ideal size for a point in the Billups mold
dont be suprised if willie goes first still.. from what ive heard from my brothers old teammate( joe stephens played in the nba ) who is cool wit the rockets front office is that there are teams that still like him becausethey know what he can do when he has good talent around him. he didnt play that well with worst talent around him this year but no teams plan on building around him
The starters for Memphis are all pretty good TOGETHER, not sure I would change that. Their bench is pretty weak so I could see them taking the BPA who can play more then one position, minus the 5 because they'll probably want to develop Thabeet more, and probably not a swing man considering they just traded a future first for Brewer (who I think is Rudy Gay insurance more then anything) and also the underrated Sam Young. So I guess that just leaves room for a combo guard, or combo forward.
Do you guys think Warren could be a JET/crawford type player? Score off the bench a play a little point? I didn't see him play much this year so...
yeah warren possibly has the potential to play that role off the bench
