Crazy Trade Idea I thought Of

Say Minnesota wins the number one pick in the draft. They like Jonny Flynn but there not 100% sure he's a 10 starter on a playoff team. They want to keep Kevin Love and get rid of Al Jefferson.

Ok here's the deal.

Golden State sends: Monta Ellis, Anthony Morrow, Anthony Randolph, rights to swap picks in 2011 and 2010 2nd rounder

Minnesota sends: #1 overall pick and Al Jefferson

Would this be a good deal? Just popped into my head yesterday.

Sounds pretty good but Don

Sounds pretty good but Don Nelson would NEVER want a good bigman. Anthony Morrow added in there is probably too much. Anthony Randolph may end up being a pretty good player in the NBA.
Do their salaries match up?

I would say it's pretty even.. I would do it on either end.. If I were the Wolves gm or the Warriors gm.

no

i dont think that gs would like to send 25 ppg scorer, one of the best shooters in nba, and a guy who can be all star for a unproven player, and a jefferson who couldnt play in gs cause he is to slow and cant shoot....

Good for GS, bad for Minnesota

Wall is way better than Ellis. He is a true PG. Wall excels in the open court. The Warriors probably like Wall better than any other NBA team.

If you were a gm

If your team had a chance to get either Wall or Ellis, but not both, wouldn't you pick Wall without a doubt.

thumbs down...

that's a complete rip for Minnesota....they would basically be giving up their 2 best players (Wall and Jefferson) for a bunch of "Nelly's system guys"......

Minny would never need to do

Minny would never need to do this and why would they keep flynn when they can have Wall. Also Jefferson is playing like he was before knee injury so to me i would just trade Love but knowing them they will keep him and have a logjam of unathletic players in the frontcourt not counting Darko who next year he and Jefferson can possibly be like Darko and Howard was for that shot time cept Jefferson is not as athletic as Howard but Jefferson is a better low post player. Minny to me needs top talent at the top and the 3 and they have enough picks and money to make that happen. Keeping Darko is a must because he does bring them a better look on defense than they had before. Corey Brewer needs to go to the bench and Gomes needs to play for another team because he has talent but is not the right fit.

Doug the GM....

If I was Minnesota, I would take versatile wing players with all 84 of my draft picks.....one or two of them are bound to hit and then they can start being worthy of discussion......in my mock draft I had them taking Evan Turner, Damion James, DaSean Butler to name a few....

you never trade the first

you never trade the first pick. That is by far the stupidest thing to do. I don't care who is in the draft. You never ever trade the first pick. You have earned it take your prize and pick the best guy out there, which in turn should be the best fit for your team. Horrible trade idea. This is all for the better of GS.

yeah you never trade a

yeah you never trade a number 1 pick...especially to a team who players havent proved a damn thing...i know ellis is talented and can score out of his mind....but seriously come on you think he is worth more then a number 1 pick....if any of you guys were a GM and you tried to make a move like that...it would get you fired for even mentioning it to the owner...

Wait a minute. I know this

Wait a minute. I know this is a wacky trade idea but in Minnesota's case

Your getting a all star caliber player in Monta Ellis, Anthony Morrow who could start at SG or become your 6th man similar to JR Smith. Anthony Randolph is still 21. He can be a really good player. You still keep Rubio so if you want eventually trade him for 1st round picks or bring him over, Flynn is still there and he will have the starting PG experience so if teams want him for pieces they still have him. You also have a extra 2nd round pick to go along with 2 mid-late 1st round picks and 2 high 2nd round picks.

Thier potential lineup would be

Ellis- Brewer-Randolph- Love- Hollins

Flynn- Morrow- Darko off the bench. With those 2 1st round pieces and 2 early mids and Rubio and Petokic (spelling) overseas
