NBA Playoff thread...
Official thread for NBA playoff talk....I will bump it every day until the playoffs....
I saw how much success llperez's Tourney thread and that made me make this....
There's one interesting battle going on in the East between Atlanta and Boston. Boston has passed them momentarily for the 3rd seed. This is very important because the goal is to avoid Cleveland in the 2nd round. As good as Atlanta is, they don't want to see Cleveland in the 2nd round.
ive pretty much just been keeping up with the west race tryna figure out who my lakers will have to play in the second round and tryna figure out who we'd rather play in the second round. id say denver since kenon still wont be at full strength
I just hope Denver can get it together b4 seasons end cuz we have the best chance at dethroning tha lake show more than any team out west
tezo...how does he second round work in terms of who your going to play? 3rd seed avoids #1?
they dont worry me as much as dalls. we showed they cant beat us last year. they added lawson and affalo but we beat them without a fully healthy bynum or a defensive strong man like artest
You should've waited until the playoffs started to make this thread. Then there would be more accurate talks about the matchups and stuff.
Dont tell me what to do!!!!! Wateva Wateva Ey dew wat I want
Ariza was a very, very good defensive player Quincey. Came up with 2 huge steals in the last minute in 2 games against the Nuggets
Can someone tell me how the second round works
mikenike, 1 vs 8 seed winner vs 4 vs5 seed winnner. Whoever had the better record gets homecourt.
As a laker fan, i pray we play portland in the first round. I want to shut those fans up who go ape &$#%#&@! over wins in january. Let us remind you blazer fans what happend in the 2000 western conference finals.
Artest is an upgrade over Ariza in terms of guarding Carmelo.
artest is at the very least a break even for ariza. Artest shoots spot up shots better and one on one defense is arguable.
I would like the Blazers to play the Lakers in the 1st round. If you want to win a title you gotta beat the best not wish to play the other teams. Not saying Blazers will win but I would like the team to have more media attention.
lakers blazers would be fun. That's not talking crap. I respect the blazers as very tough competitiors. But I hate how the announcers talk so much every time the lakers play the blazers like that means they own them if they win. You want to talk, lets play when it counts.
if you're talking about the blazers announcers, I hate them too.
yeah, im talking about the annoucers. They get crazy heated over the lakers. But like I said, I give the blazers mad respect as team. It's unfortunate that they are missing key players. But no team gets up for the lakers like the blazers, so lets get it out of the way in the first round. The portland announcers talk more &$#%#&@! about the lakers then any team i have seen in 20 years of watching games, so lets do it.
The Blazers will make for a nice appatizer.
Don't forget about the Mavericks. I think they are just waiting for the playoffs to come around and then they are going to make a deep run. Talented roster, veterans, and some quality depth.
The Western conference is going to be tough for every team. I expect plenty of 6 and 7 game series in the West.
dallas should be ok. i doubt they are waiting around for the playoffs though because they arent that type of team that does that. they go all out when they play
WHo gets the 8th seed?
Raptors or Bulls?
I think the raptors hang on.. but i think they lose 4-2 to cleveland
hmmm ill say raptors... id have to look at there remaining schedule to see though
The Raptors should get it. The Bulls have been hit hard by injuries at the worst possible time. The Raptors would get beat in either 4 or at best 5 if they played Cleveland.
Both teams are close in the standings, but I think the Bulls have the tougher schedule reamining. They have games vs the Suns, two vs the Bobcats, Milwaukee, Cleveland, Toronto and Boston. That's a tough schedule when you consider Deng is out and Noah is still playing limited minutes.
I think Toronto gets in barely and then gets swept by the Cavs.
prob go down to the last 2 games between the raps and bulls
