The Duke Blue Devil's Recruiting Class

I'm a huge duke fan and I'm wondering what some of you think about these incoming players.

Kyrie Irving: He looked very good when i saw him play. I'm hoping he comes in and is as good of a player as Jay Williams was.

Josh Hairston: A highly touted power forward. I dont really know much about him. How much, and what kind of impact will he have?

Tyler Thornton: Has a pedigree of winning and from what i hear is a cerebral point guard. Many say that he isnt good enough to play at dukes level. is that true?

Carrick Felix: A very athletic and long wing from JUCO. Looks to give the Dukies some more athleticism, which is never a bad thing. Question is, Will he be too raw to see any playing time in his first year?

Just to throw another one in here, a guy from the 2011 class

Michael Gbinije: Supposedly a very smooth player, has a good shot. How will he fit in with Duke?

What do you guys think about how they fit into duke and how much of an impact they'll have over their career.

Irving should step right

Irving should step right into the starting lineup and potentially star. Hairston is way overrated -- he won't see much playing time for at least two seasons. Thornton is a backup point guard at best. Felix won't contribute next year, but maybe as a senior.

Gbinije isn't the traditional Duke recruit, but he could be pretty nice.

Well

Kyrie Irving will be great, but I doubt as good as Jason Williams, who was National Freshman of the Year and then 2 Time POY, averaging 20 and 6 and shooting 40%from 3. He may not be Williams good, but he will start from day 1.

Hairston: Has apparently improved alot at Montrose, but I doubt he will get significant pt his freshmen year. I do look for him to be a force his sophomore year though.

Thornton: Plays solid D, but is not expected to get alot of burn next season.

Felix: I don't see him being a huge offensive force, but he will be key in guarding the Harrison Barnes's of the world, and other big wings.

Gbinje: Is a solid but unspectacular athlete, who has good size and is a good shooter. It is hard to tell what his impact will be, because we don't yet know the personnel on the 11-12 squad.

Just so you know, Felix had

Just so you know, Felix had a hand injury last season so he still has 3 years of eligability left. Thank god.

good point on 11-12. When I think about it, we could have a sick shooting team. Say we get Austin rivers. Then we'd potentially have Rivers, Curry, Dawkins, Gbinje, and Irving if he stays, Talk about a great shooting team.

Also in 2011 class we could

Also in 2011 class we could get the third plumlee, Imagine if we got all three of them, potentially all at the same time, however it would be unlikely that either of them wouldnt leave early.

Also how is Quincey Miller. I hear he's absolutely great.

Quincey miller might be the

Quincey miller might be the best 2011 player, He's a pf/sf who is very nice off the dribble and in transition.

Curry will be great if he is anything like steph, and judging by his first season at liberty he will be.

dont count out Andre Dawkins either. As he works on his ball handling he will become a great player. he already is a great outside shooter and a good midragne shooter but as he works on the handle he will be able to showcase his incredible leaping ability as well
