There's a difference between a young player that averages more than 12ppg, 47% from the field, and 40% from behind the arc. on a bad team.. But there's a big difference to do that on a championship level team while you're only 23. Very good defender.. Can play the 1 or 2. Good passer and decent rebounder for size. His game reminds of a SHORTER Brandon Roy meets Stephen Jackson. B-Roy because he can do it all, Score, rebound, pass. and Stephen Jackson because there's a big difference between being able to pass, and being able to be a really really good passer.. His on ball defense and rotations and high basketball IQ also reminds me of Stephen Jackson.
I wonder what Spurs will do because if he is this good why keep him and Tony Parker when you are weak at shooting guard and Center.
It's almost unfair how well the Spurs draft getting all these guys people pass up on over and over.
Lol i dont think its unfair because any other team could of picked Hill or even this year with Blair. I 100% think blair should of went in the first round and i knew he was going to be good but not this quick so thats everyone elses F UP
weak at shooting guard and center? I thought duncan and manu played those positions??
Manu is old but is good enough that he may leave for more money, Duncan also plays power forward and the Spurs tend to be better when he has a actually Center playing next to him like in the past. The Spurs draft well every now and then for where they draft because they have taken some stinkers but because they always could sign people no one says anything about it.
If it happens to much you start to realize it isnt the players but the coaching that brings out the best of these players
Make a post for the best coaches in basketball he is up theree....
For scoring we all know Don Nelson is the best ever he can bring up from the 8-5 league of desk sitters and I will average 10ppg a game 1 rb
An interesting thing about Hill is that he is going be free agent after this season. He seems like high chararcter guy and playing with some many veterans has to of helped him a lot. If I were teams like Clippers or Memphis he would be good option for depth. In clipperland he could push Baron for now and when Baron is to old to be effective he could take over the job. In Memphis he could battle with Conley JR for the starting job and he can even back up Mayo for small stretches.
Could he be a solid 2nd option on a playoff team and a 1st option on a lottery team?
right now..no he cant be a first or second option.. you need more then a couple of games to be that. could he possible become a second option?..maybe. you will find some peopel on here who think he can but those are the people who always think beyond reality because of a player player very well for a short period of time
Quincey, I hear what you're saying, I think he can easily be a star though, if he stays with the Spurs, he's well coached.. I mean he coached by a legend. And he's such a hard worker. When you're coach believes in you, that's when you're a very good player. And this isn't just any coach, it's Gregg Popovic! It took Tony Parker about 6 years to get his trust and 2nd year George Hill already has it. If Gregg thinks he's special, he may be. Only time will tell.
Y'all think George Hill can be a 2nd option player ? I'm curious. I don't watch San Antonio a bunch at all. He seems to be physically gifted though, and his arms look like they go past his knees lol. He was good last night against LA when I watched though, but I think he's going to have to be more of a PG to be the best player he can be.
I'm high on George. He trains with 100% Hoops here in Indianapolis over the summer. I mentioned earlier this season that he'd be a household name once he got his opportuntiy. He's that good. He's already a very good defender with arms just as long as Rondo's. He can defend one's and two's.
There's not much he can't do offensively. He just needs to continute making the adjustment from the two to the one.
man George Hill gots a 6'9 wingspan and he's only 6'3! I wish...
Yea I knew it seemed like he had a bigtime wingspan. I remember when they drafted him and I was like "Who in the devil is that?" lol...I should've never doubted Popovich.
the draft is hit or miss sometimes..the spurs have had there share of so so picks as well
corey alexander- i used to like his game....a kid that reminds me of the slyvester kid
