For all you youngens

Don't let basketball run your life. (The games the drama) I have been married for 4 years now and i am now going through a terrible divororse because the (games) seemed more important too me than being with my wife. I am saying this because I know most of y'all are still young. Basketball is my life, but a wife and love is so much better than basketball. I am only saying this because I now know you guys are still young! Spend time with your girlfreinds/wifes because their will always be another game, but thier will never be your only love.

Good advice. I told myself

Good advice. I told myself that I won't get into a relationship until I graduate college (I'm in my first year), so I have plenty of time to watch as much basketball as I want. I'll definitely keep this in mind though.

I know a lot about

I know a lot about basketball and the NBA too and I am single though but still there had to be other reasons why she left. In today society where there are worst issues to deal with then a guy who is really into sports which most women should expect just like we expect certain things from them that we may not be able to relate too. obviously me being single i don't know how much credibility I have on the subject but it is possible she was not the one for you. If you are that into sports than you need a girl who to some degree shares that interests maybe not even on the level of you but she has to understand where you are coming from to some degree. That is a lot different than a girl she pretending to care somewhat to make you happy but secretly could care less. I am sorry for your divorce though and I hope you move forward and find a better balance of marriage and sports.

sorry to hear j1232e.

sorry to hear j1232e. Everyone needs to keep things in perspective in life. There's nothing wrong with being a die hard basketball fan, but we shouldn't wake up and watch the lakers vs rockets while your girlfriend paints the room she has been asking you to help out with for a month.

I just got this vision of you sitting in on the couch in a wife beater with a beer watching the game and yelling "cook my turkey pot pie woman."

Man I feel you. But to me,

Man I feel you. But to me, it's always gonna be B.O.B. (a knock of M.O.B. replacing the "m" with "b" for the word basketball). I just love my basketball too much. I even make sure I attempt to watch every summer league game. I have a good balance though, I give what I take as important their fair due and attention in my life.

yeah, i've only been in one

yeah, i've only been in one long term relationship (2 years) and at first she loved everything i did. Watching the games. She watched UFC with me. Played poker with me and my buddies. At the end, she hated all that stuff. But I don't blame that stuff, it was us.

People do change but i am 29

People do change but i am 29 and from what i have seen women have unrealistic ideas of who they want you to change into. If you can't find a girl that will love you for you, you will be in a marriage and unhappy all the time. Marriage was not created to be a burden for you despite what some married people will say they need to do their research and read the bible and see what marriage was originally about. That being said dude if you neglect your responsibilities in favor of basketball than that is different. You can't be in a relationship and not give your girl some attention but if she wants it all the time than that is the wrong one. maybe she needed some female friends to hang out with so you could have your space. Also that is another reason why a lot of guys go to a friends house and watch sport and drink and stuff because sometimes less visability is better.
