Yall need a new coach. Then you need to trade for draft picks and try to win with the team you have once you sign JJ and Lee for next year. Imagine if you had been trading for draft picks and keeping your own. You would have a shot at JWall or would have had a shot at Durant or Griffin.
problem with the Knicks and drafting is we have always been just good enough to draft too high. This year we drafted 8th in basically a 7 person draft (other than a few steals later in the draft. The gallo draft we just barely missed out on westbrook, mayo, beasely, rose. It has been like that most of the decade as they have been bad, but just not bad enough to get a franchise changing player in the draft.
Yall dont do your homework. Yall drafted Hill when you have Lee. Your management set their sights on Curry and didnt have a "Plan B" so they panicked and picked Hill. You missed Jennings and if you needed height after Jennings, could have traded for someone other than Toney, who at the time was a SG behind Hughes, Robinson and Chandler. Just doenst make sense.
First of all the Knicks brought in Hill sveral time to work out. NBA teams dont panic if their first choice is gone. Hill was widely considered the best big man pospect behind Griffin. We whiffed on Jennings but hindsight is 20/20. Doont act like Jennings was a no brainer. Hill looked like good pick at the time.
I hate how the Knicks traded our draft picks but theres nothing we can do about it now.
What I dont understand is why you're so negative 8th? What do you expect us to quit on our team?
Jennings was expected to fall to 17 so much that his agent told him to stay home. Plus I still don't really like him after teams figured him out he has shot 30 percent for the past two months. Hill was the last semi decent prospect according to scouts and Lee was going to be let go so we can spend money on guards and forwards. If you look at the past drafts the Knicks have just been the next team to pick after all the good talent is gone.
Jennings was one of the top players in his HS class and he played professionally. He was the pick to make. Some people thought he should have been top 5.
Yall need to stop trading draft picks. When you do trade, make sure you get picks. Even if they are second rounders. You never know when you get an Areanas type guy. I still dont understand Hill. You had Lee. Then you traded for Harrington. I dont get it.
And Jennings was definitely not a no brainer he was projected SEVENTEENTH the night before the draft and I still don;t see the hype around him he shocked everyone the first month because noone knew what to expect from him, but he got figured out quick and remained a chuck. He has the worst shooting percentage in the NBA the past few months and still continues to score 15 ppg, only way to do that is to keep chucking and putting up 15-20 shots per game.
Thats because we have been bad for so long and have such passionate fans that any glimmer of hope seems exciting these days... sad but true
