well one i cant say they are dumb because ima religious guy(not mormon) so i cant fault them for going on there mission over basketball since its more important than basketball. hawes is good and i think the missin wont hurt him as long as he plays while on his mission. the mission doesnt hurt all players. a guy i used to ball against ,that plays for utah state now (nate bendall),went on a mission and it helped him because he wasnt ready for college basketball out of hs. it only hurts guys if they dont workout and ball while on the mission. one guy who comes to mind who it hurt was britton johnson. i balled against him in hs and i can say he would have been just like vanhorn and probably better if he didnt go on his mission.
went from a possible final four mvp to a MWC player of the year for two years. I think this mormon mission hurtsplayers.except shawn bradley, this fool played a freshman seanson at BYU the went on a mission and returend as was the 2nd pick in the nba dradft!Q
Jim Boylen has changed the program. He won't recruit a mormon kid ( I think) But the players in utah grow up mormon feed. I think The Texas and outcast of California, wont do it. Recruit the players of Utah. Byu has now over taken you of the talent. Coach Boylen thinks he can recruit the 2nd tier texas players as well as the 3rdtier califorina players and make utah the compete! Thanks coach.. you have ruined our progeram of havin top notch utah athletes come to U!
u of u has gone down hill because they cant seem to get more real good out of state kids. they arent gonna win much with getting average out of state kids and utah hs ballers. i used to get on my boy b markson about why he picked utah over cal or ucla and how come they arent getting any more good out of state kids
I so excited about the so calle RUN DMC! Tim Drisdom fullfilled, Bryant Markson left, the best plyer I thought for the teaqm was chaney. left, another rick majerus &$#%#[email protected]! up.
the kids out in utah just arent good enough to make utah good. each time they were good was because of the out of state players. cyou cant blame where a tournament is at as to why the teamdoesnt go far. its the talent not the location of a conference tournament. utah has never been a hot bed for hs talent
hes wasnt a good player period. he was just good on the highschool level. when he got to college and had to play against players his own size he couldnt reboundor score like he did in highschool. he was just as bad out in washington and playing in the semi pro team in utah.
which gies to show you how bad utah highschool basketball was if a player gets ranked number on in the state and then gets to college and stink. i watched and played against him against real comp... very very overrated and just plain sucked. when you're own college teammates say you suck and alumni say you suck then you suck
not to hard to do in utah though. there are some talented players but no where near the talent in newyork, texas, chi, cali, or my home town d.c. we used to punish utah aau teams by 20 plus. they had some good white guys who could shoot but they just wasnt talented enough
oh dont get it twisted utah is a very nice place to live. the coast of living is low, crime is low. i wouldnt suggest it for growing up though because its pretty boring for a youngster but they have some of the finest females ive seen and i have lived in ny,md,dc,nc,texas, atl, germany, turkey, and ct. there basketball players are real good but they have high basketball IQ's and can shoot. there juco team(slcc) is always good and the players that end up playing eurobasketball are real good as well. my boy shaun green is prob the best highschooler they have had inthe past 6 years
I have a question for you. You say you lived in utah the last few years. Their is this player for BYU nameb Tyler Hawes, that I have played with many times. He is averaging over 12 points a game a sharp shooter for byu. This stupid guy is going on a mormom mission next year! Do You Think these fools have a better advandtage come playin time. Or do you think they are weaker and lost skills! I have lived in Utah the last 11 yrs. and the mormon kids coming home from thier missions are weakQ! But they are better ballerz than me I guess!
