Griffin or Wall?
Next season Blake Griffin and John Wall would both be rookies in the nba. The question is who will you draft number one if Griffin came out this year, Wall or Griffin?
all depends on the teams needs
for example if NJ go the number 1 pick they would select griffin coz they already go tharris at the point,
yet if it was the knicks they would select wall
Blake griffin. no not cuz im a clipper fan (the proof is that they might both be clippers next year), its bcuz right now good young pgs are becoming very prevalent. another reason is that there are very few 20-10 big men in the league right now. lastly, big men win championships in the nba.
I don't know... Griffin was a man amongst boys his sophomore season... Imagine what he would've done had he returned to college for another season. He would've put up insane numbers.
I think my pick would be based on team need because I think both players will be great. You really can't go wrong with either one, unless we know before hand that one of them is going to need knee surgery.
id take blake.. but i knew this was gonna come up. i remeber saying it a long time ago how alot of people on here just like the latest thing. first it was rose or blake then rose or eveans now blake or wall. next year it will be wall or whoever, which is cool but alot of people will just go with who is the player who is the best or one of the best in college at the time but not consider how good the rookie whos in the nba would be. can you imagin blake as a jr?..rose as a soph? even eric gordan(contrary to what you may think tezo he was my favorite player in college that year by far before the injury) would have been as sophs
Griffin is the safer pick. At worst he will be Al Horford 2.0 who was an allstar this year. I don't see him scoring as much at first because he never had to really use anything besides hops in college. 2-3 years from know he will be top 3 PF.
Ha... Yea right. I don't believe that lol. Mayo was your guy.
nope in college i was a big big big gordan fan. i thought he was the most ready over every freshman and player in the ncaa. after the coach sampson and injury thing he wasnt the same player and he dropped in my book. how can you not like a guy who was shooting the way he was shooting while driving and dunking? used to have arguements with my brother because he was saying he was too short but i kept saying "are you serious look at how long his arms are"
Give me John Wall. I'm telling you guys, he's a future Superstar. I know it. Griffin will be a very, very good player, but I think Wall will be an elite NBA player. I'd take Wall if I could. This is very similar to the Derrick Rose v. Mike Beasley debate.
numbers wise i can see wall putting up kevin johnson at his best type numbers ( 20-22 and 10) i can also see the same with blake. both can be special. i think blake can be special because how many guys who are as skilled and athletic but also goes all out. you have one in ben wallace(all out but not vert skilled) then you have another in amare( athletic and skilled but doesnt go all out) this is the reason i said awhile ago that blake can end up being the second coming of shawn kemp before he became a joke
I would draft Wall. Wall is a more elite prospect coming into the draft this year then Blake Griffin was coming into the draft last year. And plus, if they didn't have the 1 year of college rule and John Wall could declare for the 2009 NBA draft, John would have been the number #1 pick over Blake Griffin last year.
actually griffin would have been the #1 pick...
You think John Wall would've been picked number one over Griffin straight out of high school? I highly doubt that...
First off, both are great players and undoubtably should be the first overall picks in their respective draft classes. And Wall straight out of high school would have been in the top 5, but not #1. Griffin was a proven player with a dominate year in college leading him to the draft. Wall wasn't Lebron talent at that time. Would Rose and Beasly gone 1-2 in 2007 ahead of Oden and Durant? No. Although you can argue that Rose and Beasly are having better careers then Oden, Oden's dominance with Ohio State would have kept him up fighting Durant for the top spot. Straight out of high school rarely gets you that top spot. Stand out talent gets you there, look at Lebron. Wall was not that kind of talent at that time.
