Celtics v. Wizards on ESPN
Andray Blatche is a big offensive talent. He's scored well, bringing Perkins out of his comfort zone and making him defend from about 17 ft in. He's rebounding well and he's being a presence blocking shots.
Randy Foye is actually playing like a PG. He's setting up guys with open shots.
Javale McGee is a guy I'm excited about. He's been a big presence on D and he dunked on Kendrick Perkins earlier. Look like he through him thru the rim LOL.
Where's Nick Young?!! haha.
Shaun Livingston might get some burn later in the game. And so will Ealr Boykins (I personally want to see him matched up with Nate, so he can finally look tall compared to someone lol)
Al Thornton has looked impressive. he's a very nice athlete and he's shown a decent jumper.
Kendrick Perkins never smiles! He needs a hug.
Kevin Garnett looks less and less athletic every game I watch Boston play. The Wizards length in the froncourt is bothering him
Rondo needs to dictate pace better. Foye has defended him well.
Marquis Daniels has played good D and is hustling alright but nothing special on offense
Paul Pierce has been ineffective, also bothered by the athletic wings of Washington.

im watchin and it may be just me but washington is a team that i kinda want to watch now. its fun seeing thornton blatche and mcgee run the court and just be active athletes. randy foye isnt a point guard but if he is given the time at the position i think he can be a very good lead guard like a bigger jameer nelson. and the big 3 in general look less athletic every game. i think this is just a bad matchup for boston. washingtons bigs are too athletic for bostons and rondo isnt strong enough to handle a bigger guard like randy foye when he has the ball. boston can still win because they have superstars that can get hot and a defense that has the ability to clamp down. but for me this is fun watching the wizards.
They have some of the best young talent in the NBA and they are a matchup problem for Boston.
Looks like Boston is trying to take this game though. Rondo has made some big plays, including a jumper after Washington's big dived a screen.
Boston really looks old tonight. I miss that old team in the green-and-white that would swarm on defense and knock you on your ass if you got open for a lay-up. Yeah, it's the Washington Wizards, but you have to give it everything you got night in and night out.
They're making Al Thornton look like Bernard King circa 1985.
Blatche is dribbling too much. He looks like a 12-year-old who keeps putting the ball through his legs and behind his back to try and impress a girl. Just make one move and go, and stop settling for pull-up jumpers.

lets face it with nick young there is obviously some unknown reason he cant playin time on this team. maybe he doesnt work hard maybe he just doesnt have the talent but there is some reason he isnt getting time and my money is on he just cant get it done on anightly basis. blatche does dribble alot and just jacks up jumpers. i would like to see him post up some more because i think it would make him virtually unguardable. just think if blatche grew up like dirk in germany he could be just as good or even better. but he grew up in america where we glorify fancy dribbling and dunks more than fundamentals. im just ramblin on and while the wizars have good young talent do they have anyone guy they can say u r our superstar? i dont know if they do.
I think Nick Young isn't playing because he doesn't provide anything except scoring. He's a great talent on offense, but he doesn't usually try on D, is a ballhog, and doesn't have a high basketball IQ.
From the few times I've seen him this year, he still dribbles the ball way too high, causing him to turn the ball over or force shots. I don't think he'll ever be a lockdown defender, but he certainly has the athleticism to contribute on that side of the floor.
I think Nick Young would play more on a team that didn't have the scorers Washington does. Also, the fact that Washington has alot of perimeter scorers and no stoppers limits his PT, because they already have enough guys that score very well and don't defend very well. And of all of those guys that don't defend well in their rotation on the perimeter, Nick Young is probably the worst defender of them all.
Is Nick Young Ricky Davis v2.0?
No, Davis was a better passer and rebounder than Young, but he also had attitude and ego problems. The perfect example is when he missed a free-throw on purpose in the 4th quarter of a blowout, just so he could have the opportunity to grab the rebound and get a triple double. I don't think Nick Young would do something THAT dumb, but we won't know until he gets steady playing time.
That was a good comeback by Boston.
This is the kind of game that makes it hard to convince me that Rondo isn't a top 5 PG and the best PG in the East. He took over that game from the end of the 3rd quarter til about the middle of the 4th, and then took over from then on out. He is a great playmaker man.
Ray Allen made some clutch shots too, as usual.
Thornton had a pretty good look on that last shot too...

He was fun to watch. Remember that through-the-legs dunk he did DURING a game? He's the only player to ever do that.
Yessssss, that was craziness. That was when I 1st took notice of him. He wore out his welcome everywhere he went though. It was a shame because he was a big talent man and he had that flashiness you like to see.
Al Thornton looks like a different player on Washington. I guess that's what happens when you finally get away from the Clippers lol.
To add to the Ricky Davis convo... He used to be a great athlete, but it's like it all just disappeared over night lol. He went from taking it through his legs to barely grabbing rim.
I guess it's true when they say dunking is bad for your knees, because he dunked every chance he got during his career. Changing the subject once again (lol, sorry about that), has anyone on here tried Air Alert? If so, how much of an improvement did you see after the 13-week program, and how high were you able to jump before the program?
I did Air Alert during high school and it's the truth LOL...
The only problem with it is it's tough as you get into the later weeks. I didn't make it to week 13 lol. I think I made it to about week 7 or 8. I probably increased my vertical by about 7 inches. I was 6' 0" my soph year and had silly bounce. As I matter of fact... The remaining bounce I still have now is from that Air Alert I did all the way back in high school lol.
It makes your first step so much quicker and helps you get off the court quicker. It just makes you THAT much faster too. I loved that program. It's important to get your rest on the weekends though and just do sprints, etc.
Thanks, Tezo. I started Air Alert last Monday, and it killed my legs; I could barely clap the backboard with two hands after I was done. But it's good to hear that it improves your speed and quickness because those are my two biggest weaknesses. I'm in college, and I'm not looking to play for the team or anything, but I just want to see how good I can become.
LOL... Those leap ups are crucial. Wait until you get to the 400 range. Don't take shortcuts either! Bend down as low as you can and jump as high as you can every time. On the thrust ups, make sure you jump off the ground as quick and high as you can. It burns, but it pays off. Your vertical will actually decrease the first week due to your muscles rebuilding, but after the second or third week it should kick in lol. It'll be crazy because you'll start feeling explosive and be like, "Wtf... I used to not be able to do that."
To increase your quickness and speed even more... Do medicine ball workouts after the Air Alert. Like... Dribble (do your favorite moves), pass with it and shoot with it. Do sprints on the weekends and *very* light weight leg extensions. Got to make sure the muscles around your knee are tight and not just the calfs/thighs.
Medicine ball, huh? I was using one of those for my core exercises, but I'll definitely try shooting and dribbling with it tomorrow.
I did Air Alert and I gained like 5 inches on my vertical and during a pick up I blew like 2 layups I got up in the air and was like wtf am I doing here.
