Do you guys think he will ever come back to the NBA? He's doing well in China right now scoring just under 20 a game and shooting 57%. He's rebounding well to
Do you guys think he ever comes back?
I hope he comes back and does well just so they can take that Demarr Johnson 'pre-accident' comparison off of this site.
my boy dj. yet another former dc assult aau kid. i think he will get another shot at training camp.not really sure he will make it back though. china is where most american players go and score aloooot of points. you'll see guys averaging 37ppg over there
Oh wow. Kudos on bringing My Favourite Demarr (better than DeRozan) back into relevance in my life. I don't think he has a legit shot in the NBA now as he's what, like 30? Back in the 1999/2000, the game had fewer top notch athletes than in today's NBA. That's why his game had so much attention back in the day. If he's ONLY putting up 20 a game versus the Chinese teams, he has no shot.
Regardless, I'd love to see him become relevant again, but IMO, it's unlikely
his gamedidnt get a bunch of attention because of his athletic ability. dj was never a great athlete. a good one but not great. he got attention because he was 6'9 and could play all 5positions(in hs) and could shoot the hellout of theball
Even Stephon Marbury is averaging 20 and China... He had a triple double the other day lol.
Wesley Johnson clone anyone? lol
yea i saw demarr two summers ago at shoot-n-run(legendary court in the dc area), real cool humble dude. he still had moves and handles but man i couldnt help but notice how all his quickness had all but disappeared. by the way he's beasley's god brother incase yall where wondering.
I dont see him coming back unless he is a guy who maybe takes the minimum and plays for New York after they get their two max contracts but there is a long line of mid 20 vets that will be available for that.
wesley johnson?..ummm no there games are nothing alike. dj handles were much better and he was quicker. didnt have the bounce that wesley had and was a much better shooter off the dribble
Wesley Johnson is not very similar to Johnson other than them being around the same size.
I remember him from the Hawks. He had some nice perimeter skills for someone his size. He was supposed to be similar to what Kevin Durant is right now: a tall, athletic scorer with good handles and quickness for a guy his size. He won't be in the NBA though, he's played for the Nuggets since his injury and was a non-factor then. I think he's being productive in China, but I'd be shocked if he was playing in the NBA again.
exactly. his potential was higher then durants at the same stage in hs. better handles just as good of a shot. but didnt have the same drive to be better like durant nor the go hardness. our coach used to get on him all the time about working harder to become better. was usually the last one in the gym and the first to leave.
Johnson was a ball player but his shot wasn't on the level of Durants. He was a better ball handler but wasn't near as aggressive. Durant's the second coming of George Gervin. Before the accident Johnson was on his way to being the next Tim Thomas Yeah he had game, but there's a lot of dudes who can play.
his shot was just as good as durants in hs at the same level. he used to kill our hs and knock down 5 threes while only shooting about 7 in aau games. the guy could shoot
my bad this is off subject but in that link to asia basket i saw that andre emmett had a 71 point game over there
its probably true. so many guys goover there and put up bignumbers. my by rodney white wentover there and averaged 37ppg
Andre Emmitt....He was a good dunker. Lol. He's a blast from the past.
