Charlotte Beats the Lakers.
i know this is an excuse, but that was by far the worst game the lakers played all season. They got beat every single quarter and they would have lost to the nets the way they played tonight. This is one of those move along nothing to see here games for the lakers.
Bobcats have some very impressic wins this season
They beat the Cavs twice, and now the Lakers...
But theyre a very inconsistent team...2 of the New Jersey Nets 6 wins, came from beating the Bobcats
If they're ever able to put it all together, they could be a scary team somewhere down the line...but thats looking unlikely
lol..how can you honestly say eat it off of that one game?..i mean really thouse are okstats but not good enough to be telling people to eat it. he hasnt been lighting it up while out there in bobcat land
Yeah its only an average game for him..... honestly you have to give a lot of the credit to Brown. He might be the best ''teacher'' in the league right now, he needed confidence and good coaching, and Del negro isnt gonna give it to him he was ruining his career.
Man, he said "eat it" off of a 14 pt, 9 reb, 2 blk game?? That's a good game, but that's not at all Earth-shattering. We gotta get your standards up LOL.
That was an impressive win for Charlotte. Now if they play like this against teams that suck like say.....THE NETS.....then I'll start to give them more credit. It's all about consistency with these guys.
Lakers losing to 2 .500 teams they definately aren't as intimadating.
I don't see them catching Cleveland for best record and if lose Sunday to Orl, the Magic have a shot to pass them.
yeah im guessing this is youre first season watching the lakers..else you would know losing to sub 500 teams int he regular season isnt news. they turn it up in the playoffs. they tend to coast through the regular season( which i hate)
1st season watching them ha.
Well they've lost to the Mavs recently and Cavs twice too.
I know they beat the Nuggs but didn't Kobe and Gasol say this recent stretch starting with the Miami game was very important.
Down the stretch all the games matter their defense has bad against a Bobcats.
20 turnovers on offense and 36% shooting awful, outside of Kobe and Farmar they stunk.
let me say this again is this youre first season watching them?..they lose to good and bad teams every year int he regular season..key word being regular season. anyone who watchs the lakers know that they step it up in the playoffs and go at 80 percent during the regular season. i said it before the season and the middle of the season and last year when people were saying...wow the lakers lost to this and that bad team cleveland has the best record and will win the title. regular season its one game in which anyone can lose ona given night. when it becomes a series its alot harder to beat them. awhole lot harder
I been watching Nba probably longer than you, I'm going by there most recent games mostly everyone agrees the last 20 plus games of the regular season are important.
We all know the playoffs are different but homecourt is what i'm talking about and also that the Lakers have a lot more competition this year than last. Besides the Nuggets they had were never really threatened to lose in the playoffs.
Realistically when Yao got hurt that series was over thats why Games 5 & 7 were blowouts wins.
i know the lakers need to pick it up and im not gonna make excuses for losing. BUt anyone who watched the game last night should know that was not the lakers. The heat loss sucked, but before that game they had won like 9 of the last 11 i believe. For some reason the lakers took yesterday off, it was seriously their worst game of the season. We'll see what's up on sunday against the magic.
eah the last 20 games is important but the lakers still dont play there best till the playoffs and this isnt the first season they have lost to so so eams in the last 20 games. also not saying its an excuse because they should be playing hard all the time. and if youre in youre 30's then you probably are right and have watchedmore basketball then me. since you made that statement im guessing that you are. as far as teams being better this year isnt awhole lot different from last year and the lakers ae also better dont you think sinc bynum was hurt at the end of last season
I wouldn't say the Lakers are better than last year Fisher, Kobe are older.
Bynum yes but he doesn't play much in crunch time for the most part its Odom and Gasol.
Though I saw a few games against the Celtics and Heat he played a lil more down the stretch he's still not better than the other 2.
To me a lot of teams are better the Jazz, Suns, Hawks, Celtics.
If you want to go by top title contenders than the Lakers have the most talent but the Mavs, Cavs and Magic have a good shot to beat them. Also these 3 teams have plenty of playoff experience now as well.
I'd say the Nuggets too but they always shoot themselves in the foot with foolish mistakes.
Not to take anything away from the Bobcats because they played a great game, but that was by far the worst I've seen the Lakers play this season.
I no longer view the Lakers as the clear cut favorites though. I think they're vulnerable. Pau has been playing soft a lot lately. Kobe played great in front of MJ, but he's looked heavy legged to me ever since that awful game he had vs Portland. He's not healthy yet they keep playing him major minutes. He doesn't look as explosive as he did at the beginning of the season.
I think Dallas, Denver and Utah could give the Lakers problems in the playoffs. A lot of people are sleeping on Utah, but they've been arguably the best team in the NBA the second half of the season.
kobe is a year older but that means what?..kobe is still as good actually better then last year because he has a better post game. and bynum is only not in some 4th quarters of games not all. depends ont he match ups. trust me on this i dont miss laker games. theres a reason why people continue to say the lakers are the favorites because they are.they know what it takes to get it doen in the playoffs and are a better team this year with artest because hes a beetter stronger defender then ariza is. and fisher is the same fisher from last year. not the best dfender and sometimey with his shots. farmer looks better and brown is clearley a better player then last year. untill the mavs or nuggest beat them in the playoffs they are just contenders to the throne that the lakers sit on. people will continue to overplay the regular season and i understand that but the playoffs is awhole different animal and thats when the lakers play there best
The Lakers might look sluggish now, but again, once the playoffs start, do you really think those guys won't step up like the players they are? Kobe will be a wrecking ball, Artest will play shut down defense, and Pau and Bynum will be fine.
They will wake up when the title is on the line. Phil has that affect on his players.
the lakers wont run through the playoffs though. they will go through there usual thing they do and lose games they should win but i still have them going to the finals when the dust clears. people will doubt just lieklast year on here and they will be right back on top. then next year they will go through the same things and some team will once again do very well int he regular season and people on here will again say the lakers cant do it
I still think they're the favorites because they're the defending champs, have Kobe, Phil and a talented team. However, they're vulnerable though. Dallas is serious. They've won 10 straight. Denver is serious and seriously believe they can beat the Lakers. Utah is serious and they're healthy, unlike last season vs the Lakers.
Kobe's not healthy. I've lost count of all the injuries he has. He looks heavy legged out there yet they keep playing him minutes. If the regular season doesn't matter as much, then why is he playing minutes like it's the playoffs? Gasol is playing soft and he's been like that a lot lately. Fisher continues to start and is a liability out there on D against bigger and quicker point guards.
Not saying the Lakers won't win it... Just saying they're vulnerable. I didn't feel that way about them last season at all.
now this is what im talking about...this is the doubt i like so there willl be alot to talk about come playoff time when we beat all this teams that peopel think we will lose to:) this is what makes me love sports
Well they'll definately have more competition than last year I think we agree on that.
I think Kobe is hurt more maybe the injuries are taking a toll on him who knows.
Fisher definately is aging.
Ariza did pretty well defensively last year in the playoffs though he doesn't have the strength of Artest he's definately quicker and was very valuable.
Your right about the postseason everyone steps it up but so do other teams who are battle tested.
The winner out of the East could win it all the Celtics if healthy, Cavs and Magic are all very deep, talented and experienced.
6 real title contenders, the Lakers might be favorites but the favorites don't always win it all.
Should be fun to watch, I really wish the regular season was shorter.
the best part of watching your favorite team win a championship is remebering back on all the negative things like the losses and the doubters and the talk from other fans during a long season full of ups and downs. I think people on this site are pretty fair with the lakers and give them respect, so we need some more hate going on. It's funner that way.
It's tough saying the Lakers won't at least make it to the Finals because they'll have home court advantage in the West and it's hard imagining a team beating them four times. I do think Dallas and Denver (depends on what happens with K-Mart) have a very good chance though. Utah has been playing very well, but I see the Lakers beating them in six games.
I think the Cavs could beat them in the Finals, assuming Shaq is healthy and in game shape. Shaq outplayed Bynum and Gasol both games this season, so I don't think the Lakers would have as big as an advantage in the front court as they usually do.
Snaq in game shape - he hasn't been in shape for years...... based on history he is not gonna bust his butt doing massive exercise and losing weight while he injured.
Sadly there was a time I really liked SNAQ - imagine if he controlled his weight should have been GOAT - instead he won one MVP cause he ate and ate and ate
i honestly think orlando beats the cavs. That should be a great series. And you know boston won't go down without a fight. Add in atlanta and toronto who are both talented and dangerous teams and im way more excited about the easten playoffs then the west.
i actually agree with the orlando over the cavs. i see shaq playing well in game one then running out of gas from not being in great shape because of the injury)
snaq...lol. the eating isnt is problem.. he has a nice eating routine its the working out that has been the problem. you can eat alil but not workou much and gain weight

Impressive win for the Bobcats
Tyrus Thomas: 31 minutes, 7-12 FGs, 14 points, 9 rebounds, 2 blocks, 1 turnover
To all the Tyrus Haters & there are plenty of em...... EAT IT
