How about sir wade
I feel a bit disappointed that no topics were made about Wade leading his team over the lakers, arguably the team with the best chances of winning a tile this year. I searched and searched, yet found nothing. So, today I figured, who cares, it's late, but it needs to be discussed.
* Plenty of fouls were called in the Lakers favor, and yet when I read comments about the game on other sites, a lot of excuses were made. I am disappointed that Phil J. tried to claim that Kobe was fouled. Listen, I do not recall the last time I've seen Kobe shoot an airball...I feel it's been....years...since the last time....but don't f*ckin hate on Wade's defense because Wade defended that shot well....might I add that kobe did push quentin richardson's chest when he nailed that 3.. and no foul was called. If you don't believe me, you're most likely biased or you weren't paying attenion. Sadly, the next time Kobe came down the court, he made a shot to tie it anyway. Phil then said the lakers made mistakes in overtime, as a respectful coach would put it. I'm paraphrasing, of course.
* I saw a lot of Artest guarding D-wade. Personally, I would love to see Kobe do a 48 minute guarding of Dwade, and wade guard Kobe in 48 minutes.
* A lot of laker fans on OTHER sites were claiming Wade played like sh*t. LOL, 27 points, 14 assists, 5 rebounds...sure with the 6 turnover's, but still in no way is it appropriate for anyone to say he played bad.
* What's up lakers? I'm not happy seeing Gasol not being utilized more. Give him more touches, let him show why he is one of the best PF's in the league.
* and last, Wade needs to be recognized as one of the top 3 players in this league. He also needs to be back in discussion for mvp if he can lead the heat safely into the playoffs.
Well said d-griz
Wade is very underrated in mvp talks.... (he should mvp last year)
good game. Both stars had great performances Wade with 27 and 14 kobe got 39 points while shooting over 50%.
The lakers just helped out too much on defense and left the shooters open and they made them. Q was hitting all night and haslem hit some big ones in ot. I disagree about Pau though, he needs to show the lakers why he is one of the top pf's in the game not the other way around. He has been playing poorly down the stretch for a few weeks now, finally phil had enough of it and pulled him hoping to send a message.
it was a good game. I was edgy through the whole thing and my adrenaline was going...anytime I see Wade(kind of a favorite of jordan's) play against kobe......oh god it's like everybody in the world should stop what they're doing to see greatness in the league.....I mean just wow.
When Pau was relied on during the grizzlies era, he did spectacular things. Kobe is getting the ball into his hands...way too often and I think it's time the lakers experiment...they're going to be 1st in the west...so experiment by feeding the ball to pau A LOT...try bynum...I mean a lot of people over the last couple years were claiming he's top 3 center...so let's see some strategy and experiments. Let Kobe and relax without having to force it.....
i actually expected to see one on this game as well. i think people are starting to realize that int he regular season beating the lakers isnt as big of a deal as beating a team like the cavs because of how lazy the lakers play in the regular season. they do try to win but its like they play at 80 percent int he regular season and actually sometimes in the playoffs as well. ive stopped being angry when they lose anymore because of this
they have been getting bynum more involved recently. But eh is not really the guy you want to go to at the end of a close game. These games are still important in the fact that the lakers would like to catch cleavland. Pau had a few chances down the stretch in recent weeks. In the boston game the lakers lost last week, kobe was out with injury and the lakers scored 2 points in the last 5 minutes with them primiarily running through pau. Last night in the heat game he had a late play where he threw it away trying to force the ball to fisher in the paint. Even if the pass got there, when was the last time fisher finished strong in traffic. Pau is gonna have more opportunities and i truly believe the lakers would like to go through him more.
But i like to see kobe and wade play. I think they both really repsect each other. They always say nice things and hug before and after games but once the ball is up they try and kill each other like it should be.
d grizz im sorry to say it was a foul on wade...if you seen the replay you would have seen the foul...otherwize it wouldnt be an airlball unless it was blocked which it wasnt...i can see your clearly a laker hater...but there was plenty of questionable calls that went to the lakers like the ball that went off Gasols knee and went out of bounds...lakers just played horrible defense and miami made them pay by hitting their shots....Wade did an excellent job of setting up his teammates and this guy should be mentioned more with the likes of kobe and lebron.....
I was mad my lakers lost but for most of the game ron artest had good defense on wade. Q rich found his touch again and kobe was phenomnal in a lost he is a flat out beast he got out his slump the jumpers were a reminisce of jordan. D wade is a great player but his team is fighting for a playoff spot so i dont think he deserves MVP he shouldve got heavy consideration last year but if anybody deserves MVP is the one and only Durant scary thing is he only 21.
the last time i saw kobe shoot an air ball was when he shot 3 versus the jazz in his rookie year .
just stop sir, I am no Laker hater. Personally, I think you need to start reviewing the information people give across to you, and as if they're not trying to attack you or your team.
I like the lakers and their chances to win, all I was saying was they should experiment for the hell of it. Kobe has forced many games this year, but with the talented stacked team they have, I feel as if they shouldn't have to rely on kobe as much. Once again, start reading the context and try to clarify with the sender before you make assumptions kurt.
thank you for the info, I can't recall the last time I've seen an airball from kobe...it just doesn't happen.
those 3 airballs from kobe to end the lakers season against the jazz his rookie year are one of my favorite memories of his. He was an 18 year old rookie playing in overtime with the season on the line, and he looked off veteran all-stars like Shaq, Van Exel and Eddie Jones and stepped up and took those shots and didn't let the misses deter him from taking the next one. He looked like a goat at the time, but he was laying the groundwork for what would become one of the most clutch and winningest players in the game.
that's what made him great . if he didn't miss those 3 , maybe he doesn't become a top 5 player of all time .
im not sure if those misses are what made him great. But it is the fact that at 18 years old on the road in the palyoffs in an elmination game with numerous veterans on his team, he stepped up and said get out of my way and took those shots that really showed what he was all about. I'm sure he would have gladly taken a 4th shot as well if he had the opportunity. He's done things his way since day one and never just said im gonna just be another real good player. I respect that and the work he has put in.
I think when his carrer is over and you see some highlight reel of kobe's career, it should start with those 3 airballs.
Gotta agree with Dgrizzly, Lakers got a lot of calls some were blatant.
I can't see beating the Lakers a small task especially for a .500 team like Miami and with Beasley doing very lil offensively.
Wade still had a very good game with 14 asts and 27 pts against Artest who is locked in defensively rite now.
No sure about those airballs in his rookie year he did go on to miss some clutch free throws against the Spurs in the 99 playoffs.
I think it was in the 2000 Finals Game 4 OT when Shaq fouled out and he took over when he really stepped up into a bonafide star.
