west coast love

okay, we all know the pac 10 sucks this year. But im thinking that people are being unfairly dismissive of the conference. I just heard some espn ananlysits talking about the pac 10 and who might get in the tournament(greg anthony and some other guy) and they said the conferecne should get zero teams in, but unfortunately they have to send someone, and they both got a chuckle. They mentioned that if California wins every game from now until the conference championship game, then maybe they enter the bubble discussion???? Are you kiddin me??? They have to run the table just to enter the discussion?

FIrst off, i think ASU are out despite their 21-9 record. I just don't think they are that great a team and the numbers certainly don't work in their favor. So i'll leave them out. But i think both cal and washington should get in.

Cal is 20-9. They are the pac 10 regular season champs. They have a top 25 rpi and a top 5 sos. They went 8-4 out of conference, but the 4 losses were to teams that are all currently ranked top 8 in america including Kansas and Syracuse. Add in that cal was without star senior theo robertson for 3 of those 4 games, and i'm not seeing how they are not even on the bubble according to some "experts".

Washington is also 20-9. They went 10-2 out of conference which included a victory over Texas AM and two tough single digit losses to Georgetown and Texas Tech. They had a rough start to conference play, but have won 6 of their last 8 and seem to really being coming on strong. They defenitely have the talent with quincey pondexter leading the way. He just dropped 34 points on 14-17 shooting last night. Add in Isiah Thomas gunning and the defensive abiliteis of venoy overton, justin holiday and mathew bryan armanning and that team is capable of winning a game or two in march.

I think both those teams get in regardless of winning the title, and if by some chance someone else wins the conference tournament, then maybe the pac even get's 3 teams in.

What do you guys think?

The Pac-10 is down big time

The Pac-10 is down big time this year. I think Cal and Washington get in and that's it. Unless some other team wins the conference tourney, then who knows. I think they will only get 2 though.

The Pac-10 needs to step it up because the Mountain West could get 3 teams in.

yeah they are way down, but

yeah they are way down, but i'm not sure what they can do to step it up unless they stop losing guys to the nba. It's just one season. No other conference has had more lottery picks, first round picks or overall draft picks in the last 5 years then the pac 10.

i mean take USC for example,

i mean take USC for example, in the last 2 drafts, they have had 4 guys leave early and that doesn't include taj gibson who was a first rounder. Add in the coaching change that resulted in numerous recruits de-commiting and they are a perfect example of what is wrong this season. It will bounce right back. Just 2 years ago, it was considered the best conference in america by the majority of national media.
