A few days ago i posted something about John Wall && Evan Turner . I said that Turner is who I would pick .Since then , I've been wondering && researching (comparisons , playing styles , etc) . && I admit that I made the wrong decision . John Wall is just too special to pass up on . Everyone is throwing out comparisons left && right . He's Jason Kidd meets Dwyane Wade . He has gobs && gobs of potential && is really good . So good , that he woulda been the #1 pick over Blake Griffin && Derrick Rose .
What are your comparisons for him ?
Nice job, my man.
That's what I've been saying, a hybrid of Kidd and Wade.
Honestly there is no one player that you can describe Wall but being that Rose who has similiar explosiveness and size just got drafted and is getting where ever he wants on the basketball coach on the NBA his name pops up but Wall is said to be a better shooter. I have not watched him enough to say that but I will say he does seem to shoot the ball more confidently than Rose has done in the past. Also Wall is possibly his full 6'4" height where Rose was only 6'2" and change and Walls arms are like Rondo's. When Wall comes to the NBA game Wow. I can just see him putting up ridiculous numbers and considering how this draft surprisingly to some has set a pretty high bar for their points and Griffin will be a rookie next year, he will will have to do something big to get that rookie of the year and earn his hype and i believe he will.
yeah i remember you said evan turner would average 28 8 and 9.... most ridiculous thing ive ever heard...
wall is also possible the same height or a lil shorter then rose as well. i think he is better then what rose was at the same stage because hes a better shooter and set up man as well as a much better defender. hes not the passer kidd was as a freshman though but he's close. same with the defense. and he gets in the lane like wade which i good but also bad because he will need to get bigger if hes gonna be driving that much because injuries will start to mount up
i didn't say that turner would average 28 8 9 . i said that he has the POTENTiAL .
that word potential is used wayy to much and exgerrated too much. i dont think he even has the potential to do that. he hasnt shown that he has that kind of potential to do that on a nba level
yea you "think" . idk . && you don't know . we only think .
but here's what i think . . . by 2012 john wall will be the best pg in the nba .
&& here's what i knw . neither kobe , nor lebron , nor wade , or anyone will be better than jordan til they show GREATNESS (not dominance) && WIN CHAMPIONSHIPS at 36 !!!!
John Wall reminds me of Dwyane Wade. That's always been my comparison and I'm sticking to it.
as am i.
if thats the case then i think luke harangody will be the leauge scoring champ..he has the potential to. people have potential but its within reason
so you don't think evan turner has a good enough skill set to possibly average 28 8 9 ????
under any circumstances .
those numbers...nope..that would mean he has lebron potential which i dont think he has. that means he has bigger potential then magic ever had which i dont think he has. that means he has close to oscar robinson potential which i dont think he has. thats hall of fame/mentioned as one of the best ever potential.?..you really think he has that type of potential?..if so thats cool but i dont think he does. how many players in the history have ever put up those type of numbers?.off the top of my head i can just think of one which was oscar
comparing him to them is well beyond reason .
&& just because he doesn't show that potential doesn't mean that he doesn't have it . && back in 03 some people never thought that lebron would be this good . && oscar played in a significantly lesser talented league . magic never had that oppurtunity (kareem) . && no i'm not comparing him to them (just explaining) . && no . now that i've reviewed my statement i don't believe he could do that . 22 7 7 is more reasonable .
i like numbers and potential and comparisons so here i go. i think turner is like a a mix between b roy and tmac. he does alot of things like both he can use the midrange game ala b roy but can drive ala tmac. i dont think he is a great scorer in the league but here are the numbers i think he can achieve(like not in the same season but career highs) 23ppg 7rpg and 5apg. wall i have a tough time figuring out. if i had a gut instinct i would say like baron davis except a little taller and skinnier. i think his numbers could be like 21ppg 5rpg and 9apg but i think he can be a good on ball defender and get like 2 or 3 steals a game.
How are there being comparisons made of Wall (who hasn't played a single NBA game) to a hybrid of J-Kidd (HOF) and Dwayne Wade (Probably HOF)? A little premature IMO.
Its is very rare to have a player develop into a HOF, lets alone a hybrid between 2 HOFs.
im not comparing him to them im saying those stats of 28 8 9 are unreasonable and was using them as examples because they had more potential but couldnt put up those numbers so if he can put those numbers up that would mean he has more potential then those who couldnt do it. if lebron cant put up those numbers then theres no way i think turner can do it. i think people get a lil out of hand because of what a person does in college. yeah hes had some 10 ast games but on the whole hes putting up 5.8ast and 4.0 turnovers... that ast to turnover ration isnt good and no team is gonna want a guy running there pg position with 9ast followed by 7 turnovers
We're comparing his playing style to their styles.
And I've got a question. It seems like there's only a couple players every year that we say has possible All-Star potential. How can we ever tell who is the next MJ, Kobe, or Lebron?
&& that does not mean he has more potential . it justs means he accomplished it && they didn't . case closed man . && well you wouldn't know because you're not apart of a team .
well since wall was crowned the number 1 pick comming out of high school he has no choice but to be good right, people use this word potential way to much instead of goin off what we know now thats why a lot of these coaches get fired because these dumb GM'S put good coaches with losing teams fate in the the hands of a 19-22 yr old potential project and i dont think depending on the team wall goes number one he isnt that good of a player to go else where with the pick like lebron d howard, demarcus cousins or evan turner could easily go #1
my predictions for 2012

Top 10 PGs
1) Chris Paul
2) Deron Williams
3) John Wall
4) Russell Westbrook
5) Derrick Rose
6) Tyreke Evans
7) Stephen Curry (Yeah I think he's that good)

Top 3 SGs
1) Dwyane Wade
2) Kobe Bryant
3) Brandon Roy
Top 3 SFs
1) LeBron James (Really tempted to say Durant)
2) Kevin Durant
3) Carmelo Anthony
how can u put john wall and russell westbrook ahead of d rose, russell westbrook is good but with the way the 2 are progressing rose is and will be better, wall on the other hand cant be put in the top 5 yet until we see what he does in the nba and if he can live up to the hype and imo he wont pass rondo in 2012
Alot of you guys are sleeping on Rondo...He still has alot of potential and will likely be better than alot of the guys you guys have him behind.
I'm not a huge Kobe fan but he's better than Wade still.
Also its no contest Lebron is much better than Durant who isn't better than Mello who showed in that game against the Cavs and Lebron how great he is.
Jennings better than Rondo wow based on what?
I meant in '12, like the person above me.
ohk, my bad.
i hate rondo with a passion but he is still better then Tyreke, Curry, Jennings...and he still has just as much potention any pg in the list...all those pg are young and still improving dont forget that....
wall wont be better than chris paul... cp3 literally has one of the best PER's in the league, and of all time... also, as for derrick rose, check how well hes been playing lately.. in his last 15 hes been averaging like 26 and 6..
If you actually think CP3 will be 3rd you are high.
PGs in 2012?
Westbrook/Rose cant decide right now
I think thats around right.
