MJ Comeback ;)

For &$#%#&@! and giggles, lets say MJ returns at 50. He will have the power to do so as he will be an owner, so lets just say he does decide hell I wanna play for the bobcats. (I know its pretty crazy guys). So if Jordan is playing at 50, and giving himself like 15 minutes a game where he gives it his all, what do you think per 48 minutes stats would look like?

Im saying...

8 ppg (he will take share his shots)

2 reb (his will will get him some boards)

.5 stl (maybe pick up a steal here and there)

3 Assists (knows the game well, should be able to find some teammates)

And he is named a starter in the All-star game

I seriously believe if you

I seriously believe if you asked MJ right now if he could still play in the NBA he would say yes, and he thinks about playing again everyday. I know the argument could be made that every former nba player thinks that, but none of comeback the amount of times Jordan has that's the argument I am making for Michael.

MJ vs. GH

You kidding me? He lost 2 games in a row of H-O-R-S-E to Gerald Henderson. For real though if you haven't seen that vid you need to, it was posted on NBA.com recently.

Nevermind I found it for yall: http://www.nba.com/2010/news/03/01/jordan.owner.ap/index.html

lol..are you kidding me as

lol..are you kidding me as well?..he would get killed...killed killed. he wouldnt even be able to compete at the college level. no one can beat father time. 38-40 years old is alot different then 50. i mean i love the guy as much as the rest of you but 50 is still 50 no matter how good a player was when they were young.

I thought he was 48

He turned 47 would still be tough but if he trained from now till training camp he could probably play.
Not like he has to put in 30 mins a night for 10-15 mins he would probably be able to play but back to backs and long road trips would be brutal. He'd probably do what Clemens did in baseball and not travel with the team when he knew he wasn't going to play. Rickey Henderson played till he was almost 50 he wouldn't give it up even played in diff. leagues. Also at SF MJ wouldn't be chasing Pg's around or battling bigs inside he'd be up against backups for the most part. He never really had major injuries outside of that one year at least what we know about. He has a lot less mileage on his body than you would think becaz he missed about 5 years in between w/retirements.

lol..father time is

lol..father time is undefeated. he could train all he wants but his body wouldnt allow him to do what his mind would. even with training the body at that age can only go so far jumps but so high and take so much banging. he would only be able to do things if the player let him

Julio Franco played until he

Julio Franco played until he was 50 in baseball but that guy kept his body in great shape. MJ looks like he is enjoying the good life.

yeahhhhh baseball is a tad different then basketball.. you can be a very good player while being in bad shape there. not so much here. except shaq because he's so big. baseball and basketball are 2 different animals

he would not be able to play

he would not be able to play defense at all...he will score a couple baskets here and there...but he would the worst one on one defensive player in the league...but i would still pay to see him play

yeah i see some people just

yeah i see some people just dont think in reality they just think in fantasy for the love of a guy. not taking into account that the nba isnt just straight up and down, the cuts and getting youre shot off while getting bumped plus checking quick guys who can jump. you canjust look at the celeb game during allstar weekend and watch former nba players who are 42 against people wo wouldnt even get a d1 scholarship. this is really disrespecting how hard it is to play in the nba

I am not trying to convince

I am not trying to convince you about basketball. I was referencing the fact that you said father time is undefeated. You never mentioned basketball in your previous posts...you just said father time can't be beaten. But you can go ahead now and tell me that it was implied.

I am not a hockey fan but it is just as athletic as basketball, plus you get the sh@t kicked out of you.

and those are 2 different

and those are 2 different sportsreguardless how athletic it is. you cant compare what one person did in one sport to what someone did in another sport. those are 2 different things.

and playing hockey at 70 is good but thats a battle. he beat father time in that battle. when he dies father time will have beaten him in the war...father time is undefeated and will never be beaten

ill just go by the mans

ill just go by the mans mouth. a couple years ago he was talking with micheal wilbon and wilbon asked him if he thought he could still play in the nba. jordan said no because his body wouldnt allow him to it even if he was in the best shape. he said physcially he couldnt do it but mentally he still could. it was on pti if im not mistaken. if someone can find that clip that would be great. i remember wilbon saying he believed jordan still could , in a joking way , and said " i know you could do better the" some nba player whos name i cant recall right now. and this was a couple of year ago. i think he knows more then any of us about what he can do. but hey i may be wrong

I was talking about athletes

I was talking about athletes playing into and beyond their 50's. In reference to your statement that no one beats father time.

You starting talking about death.

Well Dikembe played last

Well Dikembe played last season and he was 44-45, so that's pretty impressive, and I remember from my child hood days into my mid teens didn't Kevin Willis play til like he was around 45?? I always remember Kevin Willis being apart of a new team every year up until 2005 or 2006.

yep big men where you dont

yep big men where you dont have to be fast or quick. much easier for a big man to play longer then a guard
