Who will go one and done next year?
Harrison Barnes ,a lil overrated to me
Perry Jones the ,next kevin durant
Brandon Knight ,depends on how does his freshman season
reggie bullock, people sleep on him i think he will be a better pro then barnes
Kyrie Irving ,the 2nd best pg in the class but i dont think he will be able to showcase his talent in duke
will barton, he is gonna run memphis
josh selby, good pg
and probably Tristan Thompson
hummm i think harrison will be
perry jones prob wont be he's looked pretty normal in hs and still has alot of trouble in a organized setting( coupel hs games of 7,9,5 points while not being double teamed) great potential down the road though
b.knight..i could see it
the rest i see possible going but only harrison barnes would be ready
I think it's too early for that. I bet most of the posters here said Lance Stephenson was a definite one and done, but now he's returning. Let them play at least half of there 1st year before we can say anything.
yeah but hes not killing like people think he is. thats what happens when peopel watch the youtube clips but not awhole game. not having a bad year though..15pts 9 reb on a middle of the pack in his conference team
yeah hes no kevin durant right now..its not close if you have seen both as seniors in hs. ..i forgot about tobias... hes a kid i like more then all of them as far as being ready from day one. ive only seen him play 4 times but everytime ive seen him he has really really impressed me. the first time i saw him was on accident. was watchign someoneelse and he just showed the most potential in the game( he was a freshman at the time) then really started following him after i saw he was interested in maryland. this kid works very hard has very very nice post skills nice hands and a very nice mid range jumper. and gets better every year
Perry Jones will probably come out but he isn't consistant in high school so not sure how he will be in college. Kyrie Irving would be a one and done if he went to a different school.
I just don't get the Duke holds back point guards thing. Jason williams was national freshman of the year, averaging 14.5ppg and 6.5 apg. Chris Duhon got big minutes from day 1, playing along side Williams. Hell, even Paulus started and led the ACC in assists his freshman year. Irving will start and get big minutes from day 1, as the only true point guard on the roster. If Mike Krzyzewski has a player talented enough, he will give him immediate playing time.
yeah he will get minutes frm day one. i dont think hes talented enough to be one and done though. hes not as good as past one and done point guards that for sure but he is pretty talented
in my opinion?..fans will forget who chism is the minute he steps on the court. and thats not putting down chism because i really like him as a player but tobias is a very very good talent. if he was ranked number 1 in his class tommorrow i would have zero arguements. thats how much i like this guy. and thats saying something because everyone knows im real picky with giving unproven players there due. been keeping up with this guy since his freshman year in which he was pretty good but i didnt thinkl he would end up as good because he wasnt as hard a worker that he is now. he adds something to his game every year and the tiping poitn was when i watched him on espn360 in some tournament. 3pointers. layups in traffic with his left and right hand. power moves in the post mid range and dunking on people. i gladly put my rep out there saying this kid is gonna turn awhole lot of heads next year
This lineup could be pretty solid then next season:
PG- Melvin Goins 5-11
SG- Jordan McRae 6-5 (4 star recruit)
SF- Scotty Hopson 6-7
PF- Tobias Harris 6-9
C- Brian Williams 6-10
If Tennessee could only get Josh Selby &or CJ Leslie. I doubt they get either one of those players though.
they should be pretty good. i know imma watch him. still pissed my terps didnt get tobias. they were high on his list. if he would have waited one more day to commit to tenn we prob would have had him because the pinkston kid was gonna commit to tenn the day after tobias did
I think CJ Leslie will end up goin to Kentucky. I've read before that he really loves Kentucky, plus his old teammate is playing there this year. Not that Wall will be here with him...but it might help him choose if Wall puts in a good word.
i can see him going there. i actually think cj and brandon knight will go there plus one more unsigned guy. coach pitino isnt done recruiting, im pretty sure of that
Also John Selby. If Brandon Knight goes somewhere else (Like Florida or Miami), I can very well see Selby coming in to work with Bledsoe.
EDIT: For whoever gave me a negative, this is from an interview with CJ
"HSH: Do you have any schools on your list that will definitely make the cut when you narrow it down?
CL: I can tell you Kentucky’s gonna be up there. I’m pretty sure that Carolina will be up there. The Gators will probably be up there too. That’s it for right now. I would say those three will definitely be on the list."
I heard Selby was probably going to Kansas with Arizona having a outside chance to get him.
one thing some of us have forgotten( including me) is that Kyrie Irving might not even start at duke. we all know that nolan smith is gonna start and can run the pg position right??...but the thing we forgot is that tranfer they have......seth curry
I'm fairly confident that Irving will start. Smith and Curry are definitely best served playing off the ball, and Irving is an elite talent at the point guard position. Coach K understands the importance of having an elite true point guard run the team, and Irving certainly fits the mold. I'm not predicting that he will put up huge stats, but I think 13 and 5 on a final four caliber team is within the realm of possibility.
On a completely different note, what are people expecting from Perry Jones as freshman? Do you think he will be an immediate 20 and 8 guy? Or do you think he'll make more of a John Henson type impact, showing huge potential, but not being incredibly productive. I've never really seen the guy play aside from highlights, and I'm interested to see what other people expect.
doubt it. coah k is more apt to put the players that best help them which would be seth and nolan. irving is good but hes not starbury, wall or jason williams. and hes not better then nolan nor seth
as far as perry think of a favors type season. he has problems in organized ball. mich better in a aau setting. doesnt always work hard especially when things dont go his way, and plays off his good given gift more then actually skills which is normal for a guy that young whos athletically gifted. hes not even a 16 10 guy in highschool while not facing double teams so i wouldnt expect 20-8 in his freshman year. very high potential though
But I think you may be underrating Irving a little bit. He is a top 5 player in his class, and has been called "the best player ever to come out of New Jersey". Im not saying that that is true, but he is defiantly an elite talent. I don't think Irving will blow up the ACC, but he is a very talented player, and a good NBA prospect, and I think he will start on a very talented team next year. Coach K has shown he is willing to play younger, better talents over more established players, for example, Paulus played almost none his senior year, after starting his first 3.
Also, It is VERY important to have a true point guard running your team and Nolan Smith is not that. He is my favorite player on this current Duke team, but he is not a point guard. There is a reason Krzyzewski moved him off the ball in the middle of last year. Scheyer is simply better at running the team, and even he isn't a "true" point guard.
nope not underratijng..i watched him play..he is not the best to ever come out of there.. i played and watched tim thomas play and he was better. i watch dwagner and he was better. and youre right coach k plays younger guys when they are better. this kid right now is not better then nolan or seth. i almost forgot jason williams is from jersey and this kid isnt as good as him either. the kid is good. you dont need a true point guard to be good in college basketball. especially if the point guard is a new and the players who are there are better players. gotta take in account this guy hasnt played against college guys yet. hes comming in to challenge for a spot that has a guy whos gonna be a sr and a very good player in nolan, and a guy who is even more talented then nolan in seth curry.
quincy not to say that your wrong or right but your the first person to not hype up kyrie as the next "best pg prospect" or throw the chris paul comparison at him. Its always good to see a different opinion on a player wether its good or bad
thats because alot of peopel watch a player with there mind half made up about how good a player is because of what everyone else says. i go in without that mind set. which is why i was right about favors and henson. and if seth is anything like everyone at duke says he is( saying he;s better thenhis brother at the same stage) can anyone really see him coming off the bench?
also if this guy is the best pg since paul then what would that make the pg whos ranked ahead of him?..the best ever? dont get me wrong the kid is good but i dont think hes even the top 3-5 player in his class
There are about five pg's that you can make a argument for the best pg in the class. From what I've seen I would rank Kyrie as #4 behind Brandon Knight, Joe Jackson, and Josh Selby. He will be a good player but I don't know how good he will be his freshmen year. If Seth Curry is as good as everyone says he is he might start ahead of Irving.

What do you think? Of the incoming freshman for next year, who do you think could or will go one and done?
