Father / Son NBA duos
Watching Step Curry play and his father Dell, I was wondering how uncommon it is to have a father and son both reach the NBA. I'm having a hard time remembering many other duos. Only ones I can think of is the Berry family. (Rick, Jon and Brent) Who am I missing and which duo you think would've won a two on two game in both players prime. ( I think the Wilkins family is another one)
off the top of my head:
kobe bryant and joe bryant
mike dunleavy and mike dunleavy jr
i think Jalen rose's father played in the nba
tito and al horford
all right, i was curiuos to see who i was forgetting so i googled it and according to hoopdoctors .com, here are the top 10 father/son duos of all time:
1-rick barry and brent barry
2-joe bryant and kobe bryant
3-jimmy walker and jalen rose
4-bill walton and luke walton
5-henry bibby and mike bibby
6-rick barry and jon barry
7-gerald wilkens and damien wilkens
8-mike dunleavy sr and mike dunleavy jr
9-ronald brewer and ronnie brewer
10-scott may and sean may
honorable mention:george and kobe karl, stan and kevin love, and patrick ewing sr and jr
I would also like to add Klay thompson as a future nba'r who's dad michael thompson played for the lakers.
Maybe in the future Doc Rivers and his son Austin
you know, it just occured to me that they included rick barry twice, once with each son. That shouldn't count for two spots.
Gerald Henderson jr and senior both made it
and maybe in a few year ike austin and isiah austin.
and it more common than i thought. i mean i knew all those guys had fathers that played but its hard to think of more than a few. but when everyone else throws in the ones they remember its like oh yeah his dad did play in the league.
I think Ike Austin is Isaiah's unlce, but I could be wrong.
U are right. My bad.
how bout marcus n micheal jordan hes havin a good freshman yr gettin better by his senior yr i can see him as a legit nba player just with his work ethic n who his father is
