Are Deron Williams days in Utah numbered?

From the Salt Lake Tribune

That's why i signed a 3 year deal'' I could've signed a full 5 year deal back in 2008..But i wanted to see how we were going as a team..And if we aren't winning i can opt out..That is what he said a day after the trade of his friend Ronnie Brewer to Memphis for a protected 1st round pick..I look around the league and saw teams getting better..This trade makes us worst..Williams didn't hide his frustrations while talking to reporters after the team shootaround..We learned about it moments before boarding the plane..They pulled him aside..We only had a few seconds to say goodbye..That was 1 of the quietest flights ever..It makes no sense to me or any of the players..We've won 15 of our last 17 games..And to give away a main part of our nucleus is puzzling..But its a business ..All we as players can do is keep playing...

Yeah, he seemed upset, I

Yeah, he seemed upset, I think a Forum was made over this before. I agree with Williams, Why Trade Brewer? It doesn't make any sense just for a Pick?
Williams was Smart about His Decision. The Jazz were really Rolling so it's strange to see the Trade.
Boozer is most likely Gone so....The Jazz don't seem in all that Great Shape. Mehmet, Korver, and Kirlienko aren't getting Younger although they still have Millisap and Matthews.

I am sure a lot of what he

I am sure a lot of what he said was due to his emotions at the time. I would imagine that life as a professional athlete, with all of the traveling, hotels, and just being away from your family for long stretches, can take its toll. Finding a teammate that you bond with must be huge. I guarantee this won't be the last time this will happen to him, like he said, it is a business like any other.

With that being said, I think he will stay with Utah AS LONG as they give him a good cast and Sloan stays. The 4-out1 motion offense is perfect for Deron and showcases his great PG skills.

Although many teams will be calling when his contract is up, so who knows?

D-will won't leave. The Jazz

D-will won't leave. The Jazz are doing exceptionally with or without brewer. Yes, Dwill was upset because of the trade, but who would not be. Luckily he did not let his frustration over the trade affect the jazz play. (They have yet to lose since the allstar break) He'll get over it eventually(he might already be over it), so no his days in Utah are not numbered.
To Rickyrubio9:
Booz, I am not so sure that he will be leaving in the off season. The jazz like him, and his production and the Jazz's success recently is proof of that. So they could resign him next year for less money, or do a sign and trade with the Suns for Amare or the Raptors for Bosh. Or they could let him go, and use their for sure lottery pick to replace him (ala Greg Monroe). We will have to see what happens come offseason. It should be interesting. AK is doing superb. He is playing a lot like he did back in 2006 i believe, before his back problems occurred. (If you can't remember back that long, he was amazing) Okur and Korver yes, those two are declining. Still good outside shooters, but their production is slowly getting worse. I agree with you on that part.

They traded Brewer to get

They traded Brewer to get closer to the luxury tax line. That's why they gave away Eric Maynor. Money is the reason behind everything these days unfortunately.

Williams

He will eventually leave to a larger market. Utah isn't exactly a place for a superstar like Williams. When he gets a long term deal in a few years, I doubt it will be on a team like the Jazz. They need to start getting quality players in the draft again. The last three years they have gotten no one (besides undrafted free agent Wesley Matthews) that has contributed significantly to the team. If they get a high lotto pick they should draft Evan Turner, but if they are mid lotto they should draft Greg Monroe, who would flourish with this team. Monroe's defensive deficiencies would also be masked to a certain extent by Kirilenko.

i dont think the larger

i dont think the larger market thing is as big of a decision as fans try to make it out to be. its funny because i was listening to jim rome the other day and when he talked to players about that they were in agreement about being able to get money in any market and the private jets leaves from minny the same way it would leave from newyork and los angeles. then they mentioned a coupel of big market teams who arent that good and players arent beating down the door to go play for like sac or the clippers or the knicks.

Quincey

couldn't agree more, but I think Deron will wait and see what Utah does with Boozer this summer.

D-WILL

Loves living in utah he lives in utah year round, quincey is right he said the same thing when dee brown was not brought back. I was a huge fan of ronnie brewer, but lets face it he can't shoot. The last 2 post seasons the jazz have lost to the lakers and Kobe Bryant would not gaurd him on the perimeter brewer shot brick after brick. The jazz had a log jam at that position and were not sure they could resign him back. Jazz recieve a pick that will be the same (14 protected in 2011) that brewer was selected. That pick drops all the way to number 9 pertected in a few years so it could turn out to bless the deron williams and the utah jazz.

I can't see D-Will

I can't see D-Will leaving Utah as of yet... He's saying those things because he's partly disappointed but hey, the team can still ball and are winning in their own right... Deron Williams isn't the only one who has been put in the same situation though... You try and ask Chris Paul, Steve Nash, Jason Kidd and others who have experienced having their friends getting traded... They get over it eventually...

utah

boozer has talked in the public about returning. Lets stop and think about this for a second the jazz system runs through the point gaurd and power forward (stockton to malone) boozer would be a fool to leave this system, if he stays with the jazz he makes at least two more allstar games. If he leaves he is just another borderline second-third guy on a losing team!

Yeah

Utah is the third youngest team in the league.

Utah is one of the best teams in the NBA.

Utah has a lottery draft pick this season.

Deron Williams wouldn't screw over his teammates. That's why he was so pissed when guys like Brown and Brewer were let go. He is loyal and he loves his teammates and his fans.

Deron Williams isn't leaving.

D-Will

Is the best PG in the league. Boozer might be the best PF in the league!

I don't know about that. Booze is good but I don't know about the best.

I'm really worried... Utah is too cheap to resign him, and he could be the difference in a few years between a championship team and a solid playoff team. Millsap is good, but is he Boozer good???

If we keep Booze, draft Wesley Johnson and sign Joel Pryzbilla we would have no flaws. But that will never happen...

Money man

Why wont that happen. Personally I think the Jazz will draft big this year, because a big man draft and the the jazz have maybe the Fezenko as there only big. Okur is done, get rid of this guy!

Because

Because the Jazz are cheap. Haha

If we can't get Wall, Turner or Johnson than we do need to go big. We could use a 20 ppg scorer. We could also use a defensive-minded shotblocker.

What's your big board look like?

Mine:

Wall
Turner
Johnson
Aldrich
Favors
Whiteside
Monroe
Motiejunas

I'm not sold on Bradley, Davis and Aminu right now, but they are probably the next three.
