What do they do now?
The Kings have secured a solid young core of players, will most likely have a top 6 draft pick in the draft and have about 16-20 million in cap space for this upcoming season.
PG: Beno Udrih
SG: Tyreke Evans, Fransisco Garcia
SF: Omri Casspi, Donte Greene, Nocioni
PF: Jason Thompson, Carl Landry, Jon Brockman, Joey Dorsey
C: Spencer Hawes
My questions are:
1. Who should they draft and why?
2. Who should they go after to sign this summer?
Here is a list of some of the possible free agents this summer: M= Might be
Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Amare Stoudemire (M), Paul Pierce (M), Ray Allen, Tyson Chandler (M), Manu Ginobili, Richard Jefferson (M), Joe Johnson, Tracy McGrady, Yao Ming (M), Dirk Nowitzki (M), Big Z, Shaq (might retire), Josh Howard, Kobe Bryant, Rudy Gay, Jermaine O'Neal, David Lee, Nate Robinson, Grant Hill, Channing Fry, Carlos Boozer.
I would try to get Wesley Johnson. He is better off the ball than turner and wall. If he is gone take Cousins or Aldrich because Hawes to to weak.
after looking at that rostoer im not sure. the best bet woul dbe demarcus cousins. i dont say wesley or turner because they casspi and donte green as well as evans have the position locked up. wont they get a top 3 pick?
Just to Point Out, My Boy Landry will be starting for the Kings...not Thompson. As for who they draft...That's Tough, They are stacked at the PF Position. I'd say Cousins as well; He's 6'11 and can take the Starting Spot from Spencer Hawes, if they can't get him I'd go Cole Aldrich, seems like he'd be a good fit since they have a couple of scorers already. I think Casspi is the Answer for them at the 3 and 'Reke is their PG leaving only their Center and 2 Spot Up for Grabs. Evan Turner needs the ball to be effective just like Evans so I wouldn't go there unless they try a Draft Day Trade.
Their List Should Look Like This...
Just My Opinion, I don't watch the Kings all that much.
thompson is starting tonight for spencer and francisco is starting tonight too.Petrie will draft Cousins if he has the chance, he is trying to change the perception of the kings by getting tough players instead of finesse players.
RickyRubio9: Thompson might start the first game, but if Landry keeps up his play he could get the starting spot as well, Westphal usually goes with the player who is playing the best and likes to try different lineups throughout the season so it’s hard to see who will be starting where.
quincey: they will most likely have the chance in the draft lottery to be anywhere from the 1st pick to the 8th pick because their record will probably land them anywhere from the 3rd spot to the 5th spot.
Who do you guys think the Kings should target as a free agent?
On changing the image of the Kings(petrie):
“Again, I think we wanted to change the perception of the way our team played and I think we’ve done that, although it didn’t happen last night, but you saw it against Boston I think, and in a lot of other games. Again, it’s working with Paul to build a roster that we both feel will be different and be more successful. Certainly Landry is a more physical presence, and Dorsey, I don’t know how much he would play or what he will do, but he’s certainly that as well, so, let’s all find out together I guess.”

It all depends on where they pick, but considering they don't have any toughness at center... I think Cousins would be a great pick. I think Wesley Johnson would be a good selection too.
I know they like Casspi, but I'm not sure if he's the long term answer at small forward. I'd go after Rudy Gay this summer.
What do you think the contract should look like for Rudy Gay money wise? 10 mil? 15 mil? 3 mil (jk)?
Gay thinks he's worth as much as Lamarcus Aldridge... That's what he's looking for. Aldridge got a deal worth $65 million over 5 years. That's $13 million per year. That's what Gay will be demanding.
What about Tyrus Thomas? Do you think the kings will take a chance on him?
I like the Rudy Gay signing, maybe that'd work. I'd give him 11 the first year and it increases each year, but never let it go over 14 Million...
If the Kings were to sign him and they did not have anyone else they were looking at, it would be wise to give him a decreasing contract. Sign him for 5 years with the money going at 15 mil, then 14, then 13, then 12, then 11, this would let the Kings have more cap room in the future and it would give Gay more money if he decided to opt out of his last year on contract.
im pretty sure the grizz match that offer since gay is playing so well and they will have the money to do it
i would say amare if he had is head on straight and didnt think he was worth a contract a max contract...
Boozer would be a great fit but i know he wont go to kings
actually i dont think any player would want to go to the kings unless they over pay someone
i think they should just let someone of these players grow and just draft a pf or center
