"Almost official"
Hold on to your hats, per Marc Stein, there are more changes. If I'm reading correctly, it sounds like the Knicks are giving up far too much.
The Knicks will acquire McGrady and Sergio Rodriguez from Sacramento, sources said.
The Rockets get Kevin Martin, Jordan Hill and Jared Jeffries from New York and will have the right to swap first-round picks with New York in 2011 as well as take on New York's 2012 first-round pick.
Sacramento obtains Houston's Carl Landry and Joey Dorsey and New York's Larry Hughes
Chris Sheridan says Hill is in the deal
Marc Stein says Hill isnt
They both work for ESPN....like wtf?
The Houston Rockets, Sacramento Kings and New York Knicks have agreed to terms that will expand the Houston-Sacramento deal into a three-way trade that lands Tracy McGrady with the Knicks, according to NBA front-office sources.

MagikKnick, per ESPN, the message I posted above was from Marc Stein. In this scenario, Jordan Hill and possibly two number one draft choices going out the door for the Knicks.

Chris Duhon averages 8 points & 6 assist in 33 minutes a game
Sergio Rodriguez averages 6 points & 3 assist in 13 minutes a game
Self-explanatory? No?
Ugh...alot going on right now...
Seems like Hill IS in the deal....which sucks...but whatever
so what makes that self explanitotry exactly?....how many years has serio been in the leauge and still cant raise his numbers?.while not playing behind great pg's by the way
just because you want him to be better doesnt make him better. he couldnt overtake steve blake.. doubt hes gonna overtake duhon either. theres a reason he only plays 13min a game
Walsh probly protects those picks but can't give up 2 picks and Hill thats crazy.
We'll know in less than 90 mins for sure.
If they get Bosh makes lil diff. very similar player to Hill most say.
Don't get your hopes up too high with Sergio... Lower your expectations and let him work himself up, that way you're not disappointed if he disappoints like he's done with Portland and Sacramento.
Oh god..quincey, you'll argue to the death of someone..
Your just arguing for the sake of an arguement, you cant truly thing Duhon is better than Rodriguez
I mean, Chris Duhon is the worst starting PG in the league, it cant get much worst...
And excuse me for being an optimistic fan....shiiiiiit
switch those protections around.
All I have to say is: NY better get 2 good players in 2010 offseason. We gave up Hill, 2 lottery picks, Nate for 22 mil cap space, Sergio ( who should be a 12 point, 10 assist guy in Dantoni's system), Cap Space from Boston and Bill Walker
TOUGH TO BE A KNICKS FAN, IT'S LIKE EATING NAILS WITH POISONOUS TIPS....but yet, somewhere along my thinking- I will continue to support this team. I need help.
lol..whos argueing im just stating a fact. knicks fans always think some guy on there team who doesnt do as well as they want is the worst. fact is sergio is actually worst then duhon
You have to give Walsh some credit though... He did the impossible by clearing up enough cap room to land two max deal free-agents. I honestly didn't think it was possible lol. Think of everything he's done since taking over for Isiah Thomas... It's been a messy job and he's made a few errors, but he's done an amazing job.
This is a highway robbery on the Knicks.
The Rockets get Kevin Martin, Jordan Hill and Jared Jeffries from New York and will have the right to swap first-round picks with New York in 2011 as well as take on New York's 2012 first-round pick.
==> for TMac and Landry?
I can't believe it. I am glad I am a Rockets fans.
lol actually Sergio has 15th highest per for point guards and the sixth best plus minus in the league and he has very good stats compared to Duhon i dont know what your talking about.

well the game isnt player by per. or what a player might do if given x amount of minutes. that only flyies in fantasy basketball land. in reality it goes by what you have done or are doing on the court.
Rodriguez could be a great fit for NY. If he doesn't do good here, I give up on ever thinking he can be a true NBA PG. Also, mark my words, giving up on Jordan Hill will make NY somewhat regret it. He'll be a good starter in the NBA before long. Expect a 15 and 9 season somewhere down the line. No matter how good Sergio Rodriguez is, he'll never be able to have that level of productivity, even in this system or with stats that better correlate to PG production.
The Knicks were raped here, basically. Again
Sergio Rodriguez could be good for the Knicks. He's a better player in D'Antoni's system than Duhon. He can pass better and he plays no defense (the thing that held him back in all the teams that he played on, but D'Antoni wouldn't care).
He could have a breakout second half for the Knicks.
Feel bad for the Knicks fans, but at least, the rebuilding has finally begun.
The Knicks look like they've gotten raped as of right now because the summer has yet to come. IF they're able to land two max deal free-agents or even one max deal and an all-star caliber free-agent, they will have gotten the better end of this deal.
Word. This deal sucks....once i found out we lost Hill & have horrible protection on our draft picks..
we got a trillion dollars in capspace
Well....if free agency doesnt work, i'll be expecting another decade of losing...
How is this worse than the Marbury or McDyess deal they gave up a huge expiring contract to get Marbury and had to take on Penny Hardaway too. Theh McDyess deal was awful becaz he got hurt and the pick they lost was huge.
They were awful in 05 and 07, 08 and didn't finish in the top 5 with the draft.
If they sign one big name guy and keep Lee they will be much better than this year's team.
Who knows what the draft will be in 2012, you guys probably know a little how the 2011 is.
Reported earlier
The deal involving Houston and Sacremento could have stood alone, but was designed as an avenue to steer McGrady to New York in a three-team deal if all demands could be met. One of those details that has yet to emerge is the level of protection New York ultimately will require on their 2011 and 2012 first-round picks. The Knicks were discussing the right to swap 2011 first-rounders with Houston, which would get the Knicks' 2012 No. 1 pick depending on where it falls in the draft.
Depending on the protection parameters, the Knicks may have paid a steep price to clear Jeffries' $6.9 million contract off the 2010-11 books. But doing so all but accomplished the goal team president Donnie Walsh set out to achieve when he came to New York -- become a major player in the 2010 free-agent class, recognized by all involved as potentially the best in NBA history. By shedding Jeffries, Walsh will have only four players under contract for '10-'11 -- Eddy Curry, Danilo Gallinari, Wilson Chandler, and Toney Douglas. The Knicks are a Curry buyout away from having the space to sign two max players. If those free agents prefer the sign-and-trade route -- which would get them more money and an extra year -- the Knicks are positioned to accommodate that as well.
Very true. I agree. This could end up like the Memphis-LA deal, where New York/Memphis got the short end of a supposedly lopsided deal, only got have player development or free agency in this case make the deal look less and less like a highway robbery.
damn i didnt know they gave up draft picks as well. this deal could turn out to be pretty bad if mcgrady doesnt turn out to be like his old self and the free agents stay with there team( other then amare and boozer). at least with the steph deal you knew he was a good player and he actually played very well for the knicks at first.
What has Walsh done thats been so great, the Clippers moved Randolph so it couldn't have been too tough.
Crawford was moved by the Warriors too and they gave up Harrington to the Knicks becaz Nelson and him didn't work.
He drafts Gallo over Brook Lopez was terrible, though Gallo has had a much better year than his rookie season still he's not a franchise Center.
This year he passed on how many PG's for Jordan Hill than he trades him away.
He also bought a pick and used it on Tony Douglas instead of moving up for Collison, Lawson he also could've drafted Blair to give them some rebounding help.
For this trade he should've made the Rockets take on Eddy Curry not Jeffries, the picks lost could've been used as trading chips to get a PG. The Knicks will be much better in 2011 and 2012 as long as they get 1 elite player and keep Lee.
true. im not sure you can really blame him for passing on collins because no one knew collins would be doing what he's doing you know. and at the time douglas showed more potential and showed more talent. i agree with the blair one though. im sure they tried to give the rockets curry and im sure the rockets said HELL NO
I don't expect another decade of badness. I want to hope NY does well. We will have a boatload of cap space to play with for not only in 2010 but 2011 as well.
Now were able to sign 2 max players this offseason. I don't think we will but say we walk into 2010 with cap space plus Curry's exp deal?
I do believe we could have made more of a splash but hey, what can you say? We just need to look and add more players. I hope we bring back Sergio, Walker for next season. I think they might be some decent pieces.
Right now? I believe Bosh and Gay should be our main targets
NY for 2010!
There is still a good chance that this trade would work out like the LAL/MEM trade as long as the Knicks are able to acquire good players this offseason.
I think LBJ is a long shot for the Knicks as the Cavs has a really good shot at the Championship. Even if the Cavs don't win it all, I don't think LBJ would leave his hometown with such a solid team.
The Knicks would have a good shot at getting DWade and Bosh though. The Heat hasn't done much to keep Wade happy and Bosh may leave Toronto if the Raptors can't make the 2nd round again this year. I can already see a S&T with Bosh to NYK for Danillo already (BC loves Italians). The Knicks can also go after Joe Johnson and Amare.
I don't think Boozer would fit in with D'Antoni's system, so Walsh better not going that path.
Anyone else to be considered top players that the Knicks may target?
Well, I am upset we got rid of Hill, and upset about the protection on the draft picks. Though, if the Knicks can obtain Joe Johnson, CB4/Boozer/Amar'e/or resign Lee then things can be good, also the Knicks can always buy a draft pick if they want someone. Donnie has done wonders so far in New York, I believe in the end we'll look back on this as a good trade.
Those picks won't be as good as this year's lottery pick going to the Jazz for sure.
If they don't get Lebron and end up with Bosh and Joe Johnson thats still a good move.
The Rockets for next year if they make no more moves and resign Scola
Brooks/Lowry
Martin/Budinger
Ariza/Battier
Scola/Jeffries/Hill
Yao/Hayes/Anderson
2010 draft pick
and an extra picks in 2012 they are looking pretty good.
