Andy Ruatins

I think Andy Rautins's profile posted on this website earlier today is spot on. Except I would argue he's a good (not great) defender instead of an above average-defender. But his lack of speed and quickness kills me. For instance, last night he had a break away dunk but barely has the athletics to dunk. I've never seen him dunk.....in five years.

Call me crazy but there's a 11th man spot for him in the NBA. His father played in the NBA, he's also played with the national Canadian team (along with Samuel Dalembert and others) coachable, has a great basketball IQ and character. He can shoot it.

Dhamp2...the greatest basketball mind in the world. Next to Hubie Brown anway

1. Where everyone who said I was wrong about Willie Warren being a lottery pick, lol.
2. Kris Joseph is Syracuse' second-leading scorer. He's also our 7th man.

Well...you spelled his name

Well...you spelled his name wrong on the post title.

I disagree. I think like a couple of past SU prospects, the defense is overrated. They play a 2-3 zone so people believe they have great defenders. Jimmy B is a defensive mastermind there.

I think Rautins is set for Europe.

To refer to the "Spot on"

To refer to the "Spot on" scouting report, you cant rate a 6 in Athleticism, Size, Defense, Quickness and Potential and be an NBA prospect. His deficiencies are in things you cant teach... he'll have a long very successful career in europe, which is a ton better than playing in the NBDL, trying to crack a roster spot. And hes good at playing the consistant passing lanes of a zone defense. (I say consistant because when the zone is in its set positions, there are only so many open passing lanes, lanes that are there every time. For example, there are only 3 viable passing lanes when the ball is up top, thats left, right and big man at the top of the key.) Hes never shown the ability to lock a man down without help (which zone is predicated on). Hes not a good NBA prospect.

aslong as you can shoot then

aslong as you can shoot then you should have a good career in europe. most of the time youre playing zone and thats all the cuse plays so thats perfect for him. i agree he will have a long career over there unless he decides not to and do what gerry mcnamare did and tuen down 300,000 to play in the nbdl

Well my point is G-Mac

Well my point is G-Mac probably never wanted to go overseas to be so far away from his family. I have read stories about a lot of guys not going overseas because the culture is different from the one in America and it makes them feel uncomfortable being there.
