jaread bayless

now that this bayless kid has recieved normall playn time, is everyone still high on this kid. I personally thought he was not that great because steve blake was starting over him but the blazers signed andre, that proves the blazers were not that high on him. I ask now that bayless has played minuets is all ya all still wanna suck him off!

I think Jerryd Bayless is

I think Jerryd Bayless is similar to Jeff Teague as a player, just gets more minutes and is a bit more experienced. I feel both will be above average scorers but are too small to play the 2 guard, but will not run the team the way a PG should.

this guy has very little

this guy has very little flaws to his game except his jumpshot... hes a decent defender, good passer but horrible shooter.... his biggest problem is taking very ill advised shots... and best LOUIS williams? are u kidding, neither have hit their potential.... stupid thing to say...

I'm still a big Bayless fan

I still think on a team that needs him he will do great. In Portland he isn't the first second or even third option in scoring. He is to small to play the 2 gaurd which I believe he really is so he's still learning the point. Yeah he does take rushed and illadvised shots but I think he feels with tthe limited role he's been playing, he has to make the best of the time he's given. Put him on a run and gun team where he can be given free reign to play his game then it'll be a different story. Otherwise he needs to learn the point fast.

If Bayless could become a

If Bayless could become a more reliable spot-up shooter he would be the perfect fit for a triangle offense, He is a hell of a slasher with the strength and athleticism to finish at the room, if he could strengthen the spot up J and play with another guard capable of playing with the ball (Kobe, D Wade, LeBron, BRoy) he could really jump start his career.

He has shown talent the only

He has shown talent the only thing he is really missing is 3 point range cuz his midrange is solid. He shows the fire to get better and is a very hard worker. The guy is only 20 years old give him some time

you dont need to be a point

you dont need to be a point when youre playin g with roy all he has to do is slash and score which are his strong points. the good thing about bayless is he's a willing defender and is very fast and athletic so he can match up with rose, wall, and the westbrooks of the league and thats great because he is just as quick as them but much stronger. Nobody ever talks about this guys athletic ability. Its no reason why he cant be like Devin Harris who is a scoring point do you guys not remeber him in dallas

he canty match up with them

he canty match up with them skill wise. hell i can pick a track guy who can match up with them for speed. but basketball is more then just speed. and bayless needs more then just a jumper because if that was all he needed then he would be playing over miller and blake most of the time. and who was dvein playing behind in dallas?..was it a pg who was just as good as steve blake? im pretty sure the pg there was alot better then blake

I feel better about Bayless

I feel better about Bayless than I did before he was getting consistent playing time.

He's shown he can be a very good scorer. He's actually taken over some games this season... In the 4th quarter too. I wouldn't say he's a bad shooter... He's just streaky. He can get to the rim at ease though and has shown the ability to finish in traffic. He's an attacker. He's a great athlete, but he's not on par with a Rose or Westbrook. He's a better defender than Rose is right now though.

I like Bayless. I think he could develop into a scoring point guard in the mold of an Arenas or Billups.

Im saying him and Devin both

Im saying him and Devin both are scoring guards but that doesnt mean he cant run the point i never said he was as good a player as those guys i said he could match up defensively because of his speed and strength also his size. The coach doesnt know what to due with Bayless because he is a scorer so he would take shots from Roy and Aldridge. Roy likes Blake because Blake stays out of the way and is a good spot up shooter we all know blake isnt better than bayless or miller.

i could see bayless playing

i could see bayless playing a lil like arenas on a non contending team. i just dont think he can be a scoring guard on a contending team. at best i think he can be a 3rd option which isnt bad

Look at the highlight this

Look at the highlight this guy is just as good an athlete. His style of play is like Wade because he is such a great attacker and he is a pretty nice size guard at 6'3 200 pounds with a solid build

In the right situation,

In the right situation, Bayless could blossom. He'll never blossom in Portland because their future is basically set. All they need now are role players to surround around Roy, Aldridge and Oden. Bayless wants to be a star and you can see it.

When Gilbert signed with the Wizards, he blew up. I think the same thing could happen with Bayless once he signs with a team that will give him more of an opportunity to shine.

Yes... But he has T-Rex

Yes... But he has T-Rex arms... Not saying he isn't a great athlete... He just doesn't have the length of a Wade, Westbrook or Rose and he's a couple of notches below them in terms of body control, change of direction, agility, explosion, etc.

could be but gilbert was

could be but gilbert was doing work while at gs as well after his rookie year and his rookie year he was playing very good . i think the jury is still out on him. alot of players seem to put up good numbers when a coupleof good players are out. it makes others think they are more ready then they really are. what people dont realize is that if hes on a good teamchances are there will be at least 2 players who are better then him who can put up better numbers while everyone is healthy while the team is winning. he could put up very good numbers but i dont see him doing it on a real good team. honestly i just dont see him as a top or second option puttin gup very good numbers or arenas numbers with the team also winning

They arent really short they

They arent really short they are just bigger than those guy he has a stocky build. I also see him leaving and blowing up I think portland is really holding him back I know the pacers wish they had somebody like him right about now. If you switch him and rush i feel the pacers would be in the playoffs this year.

The only thing is he is in

The only thing is he is in the wrong situation because you can see the guy wants to be great and is a very hard worker. He has taken over games with Roy on the court he has shown he has that it factor and doesnt back down, thats what makes me think he will be a star because he is willing to take over games in the 4th quarter not many guys want that responsibility

Lol... As a Pacers fan, I'd

Lol... As a Pacers fan, I'd much rather have Bayless than Rush right now, but whoa... Bayless wouldn't make us a playoff team.

Bayless' arms are very short... He's 6' 3" with only a 6' 3" wingspan. His wingspan is poor when talking about NBA standards.

But you're right though... He wants to be a star and isn't afraid to take over. He has killer instinct. His future isn't with Portland. I think he'll blow up somewhat when he signs with another team. I really see him fitting that Arenas mold.

Like Charles Barkley said...

Like Charles Barkley said... "It took injuries for McMillian to play this kid... Ridiculous!"

McMillian just doesn't know what to do with him.

It doesnt effect his

It doesnt effect his shooting or finishing ability tho. The pacers are lacking somebody to get other teams in the penalty and a second scorer behind granger thats it. The big problem also is they dont give hibbert enough mins I wish that trade never went dont because I could see Rush as a 3 for the blazers being a defender and spot up shooter

The funny thing about that

The funny thing about that trade is it was pre-arranged. The Blazers actually wanted DJ Augustine and expected him to there when the Pacers picked. The Pacers had their eye on Rush, but they never thought Bayless would've been on the board. I'm sure they'd have picked him IF the trade wasn't pre-arranged.

You're welcome. I remember being seriously upset when they traded Bayless, but it was in the papers the next morning that the trade was pre-arranged.

True, which is why you have

True, which is why you have to pick and choose which quotes you use. What Barkley said actually makes sense... Jalen Rose on the other hand was off with this one. The Lakers bench has been terrible this season.

Bayless has played pretty well and it's clear he should've been playing. It shouldn't have taken injuries to get a player that can help you win games on the floor. He's one games for Portland this year and taken over in 4th quarters.

as far as our bench i d like

as far as our bench i d like to see how brown, farmar, odom stats match's up with other teams top 3 players. i use three because it seems that 3 players off the bench of each team are the main guys who lead the bench with some exceptions im sure

I've always been high on

I've always been high on Bayless. He's a very good offensive talent, and even though people don't bring it up he's a very good defender too for the most part. He's young, and he'd probably be better off with another team in terms of his own statistics, but he's clearly a big talent. If only he was about 2 inches taller, we'd be talking about an All-Star level player lol. He's a tweener which hurts him somewhat, but I think he can be a near 20 ppg player in the right situation.

on a bad team i can see

on a bad team i can see maybe 16ppg. like alot of other guards if they were on bad teams. people blame nate but look at it like this... he had a hard time playing ahead of blake and there a bunch of pg out there who i consider better then him. i think bayless could possible put up louis williams numbers. i dont think hes better then him even in the right situation though
