My newest team I hope it is better

I will use a 2k sports logic here. Trade away 3 future 2nd round pick for the top pick in the draft. Then I pick Anthony Davis and I still have that 3rd or 4th pick so I can get Harrison Barnes.

From this I have a stellar nucleus and I can hope to get some good shooters, rebounders, and defenders to surround them.

If I can, these would be my expansion picks:

Beaubois

Nick Young

Demarcus Cousins

Ramon Sessions

Redick

Korver

Ibaka

Greg Monroe

Dragic

James Jones

Korver

Faried

Yao

Miami Beasts would be team name

5 Guys Arena (Kind of like a better version of MSG)

Coach: Phil Jackson

Assisstants: Pat Riley, Spoelstra, Thibodeau, Marc Jackson, Frank Vogul

GM: MJ

colors: red, gold, silver, bronze, purple, brown, green, white, blue

^The players you selected

^The players you selected would still be wanted by their teams. Try guys like Ryan Hollins, or Earl Clark.

Team is The Las Vegas

Team is The Las Vegas Dicemen

Coach - Mike D'Antoni - the team will struggle but he'll play entertaining ball which the crowds will enjoy.

3rd pick - MKG - he'd be a good building block on the team and would bring leadership beyond his years.

33rd pick - Darius Miller - a team mate of MKG and so it helps to build a bond on a new team.

Roster based on players who are currently under contract - some may be FA's this summer.

Andre Blatche - the guy has issues but he may be one of the better players available and I don't think Washington protects him.

Raja Bell - reunites with Mike D'Antoni and becomes an assistant coach /player

Timofy Mozgov - with Denver needing to protect their younger players, I get my starting C here.

Eric Bledsoe- might be able to get him as a PG, again would fit the system.

Michael Redd - high character guy to be team captain and provide on court leadership as starting SG.

Jarrett Jack- veteran PG to help the younger Eric Bledsoe

Cole Aldrich - blue chip college guy does not get into the Thunder's rotation, I figure they would protect veterans like Nick Collinson over him.

Jared Jeffries - another D'Antoni favourite and can play a number of positions.

Xavier Henry - gets a chance to play major minutes around Redd at SG

Anthony Randolph - a favourite on this site gets to be a key rotation player.

Johnny Flynn - another young PG to compete for minutes

Hassan Whiteside - possible long term frontcourt prospect

Quentin Richardson - another SG option again a shooter

That is the maximum 15 man roster - Bell would not play much, Miller and Whiteside might be D-League giving a rough rotation of:-

PG - Jack/Flynn/Bledsoe

SG - Redd/Henry/Q-Rich

SF - MKG\Jeffries

PF - Blatche\Randolph

C - Mosgov/Aldrich

I'll do this but again pretending it is 2008 although it's 2012

Since I'm pretending this is '08:

Pick #3: Kevin Love

Pick #31Mario Chalmers

NBA Players:

Kevin Durant- He was young. Sephalosha and Wilcox would be protected over him that year. He was expected to be the star but he wasn't the star as a rookie.

J.J. Redick- Great Shooter.

Marcus Camby- Great Defender and rebounder.

Jamal Crawford- 6th man

Larry Hughes- Great overall scorer.

Michael Finley- Great player on both sides of the ball.

Al Harrington- Great role player. May fall unprotected.

LaMarcus Aldridge- In 08, Rudy, Oden, and Channing Frye would be protected over him.

Free Agents

Dikembe Mutombo- Great defender.

Alonzo Mourning - Another Great Defender.

Team Information:

Team Name: Miami Beasts

Arena: Five Guys

Head Coach: Phil Jackson

Asst Coaches: Pat Riley, Doc Rivers, Erik Spoelstra, Tom Thibodeau, Scott Brooks

Colors: Red, Brown, Purple, Green, Gold, Silver, Black, White, Blue

Year 1 Goal: Win 25-28 games and hopefull win lottery.

If you really think the any team in their right mind that any team would drop a 19 year old averaging 20 a game, you are definatly smoking somthing.

How is this

I trade both picks down to ok'd. I'll take m.c.w and patric young.

Azubuike (he is a great shooter and can be a superstar with the needed development and offensive system)
Cdr (heis a good wing than can be a great asset)
Kenyon Martin (great scrapper)
Boris diaw (he is a decent versatile player that can be an awesome player down the road)
Dion waiters ( can be my sixth man and give me great scoring off the bench.)
Shumpert (defensive stopper who can handle the ball on my second unit)
Novak (I don't think he is protected and will shoot the lights out of south beach where we will play)
Larry sanders (another good defensive player)
Vucevic (great rebounder)
Reggie Jackson (young potential player)
Jimmy butler (young defensive stopper)
Turiaf (last lineup energy)
Corey brewer

For all protected and

For all protected and unprotected players look at this website:
http://www.sactownroyalty.com/2013/1/25/3911506/expansion-team

Entry Draft (I trade my 2 original picks to Utah for 17, 18, 50.:

Shane Larkin (A great athlete at the point who flourish and become a star on my team)
Tim Hardaway Jr. (A key player for Michigan in the Big Dance in March, he will be able to develop into a player like his dad and also star in my back court)
Ryan Kelly (He will be sort of like a Dirk or Kevin Love as a stretch 4)

NBA Players:
Jeff Green (Can take over games and become the next LeBron or KD on my team)
Nikola Pekovic (Beastly center and double double machine.)
Patty Mills (Lets run when we have our bench in. He'll definitely be a perfect fit )
Landry Fields (He'll give Timmy Jr. a run at the starting 2 for sure, great player)
Terrance Williams (Versatile, athletic role player who can do it all for us)
Michael Beasley (Terrific southpaw who can shoot and drive very well and can hopefully cause match up problems because of his speed)
Spencer Hawes (A good center to back up Pekovic)
Eric Maynor (I like what Maynor brings to the table on both sides of the ball)
Jordan Hamilton (He should be a spark plug for us on offense)
Steve Novak (We'll need his 3s off the bench)
Brian Scalabrine (Good player and ill definitely keep the bench warm)
Gustavo Ayon (Ok Center that will have his moments)

Coach: Phil Jackson

Arena: 5 Guys Arena

Team: South Beach Orange Peanuts

Depth:

Larkin, Hardaway Jr., Green, Kelly, Pekovic

Mills, Fields, Williams, Beasley, Hawes

Maynor, Hamilton, Novak, Scalabrine, Ayon.

When you look at the beginning of this thread so many years ago, it's amazing how many people had Wesley Johnson as their first pick. Makes you wonder now, eh?

I think one guy had Hassan Whiteside there too.
