The Memphis Grizzlies have lost 10 games this season becuz of lack of defense..they could be 36-13

If the Grizzlies really want to make some noise this season...They're going to have to adjust 2 things..1st their lack of defensive hustle ..several times this season ..They've allowed teams to come back on them after having double digit leads..Next they're getting next to nothing from the bench in scoring..They're at the bottom in the nba in bench scoring..Rookie Sam Young leads them with a paltry 8 points..But they have to get better at playing defense....

1.November 1st Memphis trailed the Nuggets 67-66 at halftime but lost the game 133-123 Carmelo had 42
2.November 2nd.Memphis jumped off to a 17-4 lead to start the game. With 36 seconds remaining Gay hit a 3 pointer to tie the game.Memphis got the ball back after a Casspi turnover..And took the lead with 6 seconds left after a Randolph jumper..Udrih scored on an uncontested layup to send the game into overtime..Thats when Kevin Martin took over to lead the Kings to the win..127-116..We have to clamp down,Randolph said after the game.Once we get a team on their heels. We have to learn to put them away.
3.November 4th..Once again the Grizzlies blow a 3rd quarter lead ..Golden St. rallies to win behind the hot hand of guard Monta Ellis & undrafted rookie Morrow..113-105..We can't keep having defensive lapses and let teams come back to beat us,Gay said after the game..
4.November 6th..Against the Lakers there were 9 lead changes and Memphis lead 51-49
at halftime. But it was on the defensive end that had Memphis on the losing end..Kobe had several uncontested dunks against the undersized Mayo..He hits them against everyone, tonite i was that victim, Mayo said after the game..As a team, when a guy gets hot like that. We needed to double team..Coach didnt tell us to double team him..WTF!!!??
5.November 8th..Memphis lead 29-23 after the opening quarter..The Clippers fell behind by 11 twice before going on two 9-0 runs ..But the Clippers rallied in the 4th quarter behind 11 points from Butler,9 from Kamen and 7 off the bench from Smith..Clippers won 113-110
6.November 21st.Against Milwaukee..Memphis jumped out to a 29-19 lead after the 1st quarter..And lead 50-45 at halftime..But lost 103-98
7.November 29th..Clippers rally from a 25 point 1st half deficit to win...98-88
8.December 14th..Against Boston..The game featured 15 ties & 18 lead changes..Memphis lead by as many as 5 points in the 1st half..Before finally falling 110-105
9.January 9th.Against Charlotte..Memphis outscored the Bobcats 34-17 in the 2nd quarter ..But got no help from their reserves as Bobcats guard Flip Murray scored 12 of his 14 points to help lead them to a 89-87 win.
10.January 20th..Against New Orleans ..The Grizzlies lead by 10 points in the 3rd quarter and held the lead until 5 minutes until the 4th..Until a jumper by Paul gave them the Hornets the lead 103-102 with 2:57 left in the 4th..Memphis tied the game on a jumper by Mayo..But James Posey made a layup and got fouled with 1.1 seconds left..Sometimes you win....Sometimes you lose..But its how you lose that hurts..We were up by 10..We just didnt make our stops,Gasol said after the lost 113-111

I remember getting bashed

I remember getting bashed for saying that the Grizzlies can turn their 6-12 record around and compete for the 8th spot in the West. I'd just like to give a big thanks to everyone who "supported" me.

Anyways, a lack of defense is pretty common for a young, inexperienced team. I actually saw that New Orleans game where Posey won on the lay-up, and I still can't figure out for the life of me what DeMarre Carroll was doing on the perimeter, and what Marc Gasol was doing on the bench. O.J Mayo, who isn't a shot-blocking presence by any stretch of the imagination, came over on help D.

"Coach didn't tell us to double-team him."

When Kobe (or any other good athlete for that matter) smells blood, they're not gonna stop until that final whistle blows. They should have taken some initiative and double-teamed him themselves. Why wait for coach to give the orders?

Yeah ...I also was ridiculed

Yeah ...I also was ridiculed for say the Grizzlies were going to be good this year...But that comment by Mayo shows he still have alot to learn....When u're in the heat of the moment thats when true stars come thru..He should watch Peyton Manning ,PT is so calm during those times

Memphis reminds me of the

Memphis reminds me of the OKC thunder. Two of the younget teams in the league and should have better records if they played an D.

1. westbrook/conly 1 year apart
2.Thabo(defence)/mayo(ofence)
3. Durant/ Gay (two young superstars
4.Jeff Green/ Randolf
5.kristich/gasol (edge to memphis)

They need to bring in a

They need to bring in a defencive minded coach, someone that won't play you if you don't compete on defence. Or they need their key players to start playing hard defence, kind of a lead by example thing.
