Best 5 pg in the East

Who are the best 5 players at each position in each conference?

I'll break it down one position at a time..

1. Rajon Rondo
Ok, many people will say Rose here, and I understand why, to me, its a toss up, either one can go here.
But give me Rondo, his driving and finishing ability is fantastic, he is a great passer, and probably the best defensive pg in the NBA. If he develops a jumper, watch out CP3, the #1 pg spot could be up for grabs quickly. In my opinion, as he is finally an all star, Rajon Rondo has been the best player on teh Celtics this year, and I think that will continue in years to come.

2. Derrick Rose
Rose is the perfect combination of size, speed, strength and athletic ability.
He has so much talent its crazy, he can score and pass with the best of them, and is the leader of a playoff Chicago team at a young age. An All star in his second season, and there will be many more to come.

3. Gilbert Arenas
Despite the suspension, Gilbert Arenas is clearly a top 5 pg in the East.
Has such a great scoring and shooting ability, and is a huge clutch player.
Just imagine how good he could have been without the injuries and stupud suspensions.
Love him or hate him,Agent Zero has too much talent not to be in this spot.

4. Rodney Stuckey
Yes, the pistons suck
Rodney Stuckey does not.Despite the pistons struggles, Stuckey has put up some very good numbers for them. 18 points per game is a career best, and he has become the franchise player for the Pistons.
Many people may not agree, but hes in my top 5 for sure.

5. Devin Harris
This is where it gets hard.
This came down to Harris, Jennings, Nelson, and Felton
I gave the nod to Harris. Because of what he has done in the past, not this year.
I know the Nets suck, but Harris is a very good player. He may be the fastest player in theleague, and is a very good scorer. An all star last year, and a 20 ppg scorer. Despite the Nets being terrible this year, Harris takes the 5th spot.

Honorable mention:
Brandon Jennings, Jameer Nelson, Raymond Felton, Jarrett Jack.

Did I get it right? Wrong?

I don't know, I just don't

I don't know, I just don't see Stuckey as a true PG. If you put him on the list then Wade should be on it too.

I can see what you mean, but

I can see what you mean,
but Stuckey plays PG for Detroit, as Wade plays SG for Miami.

I think Mo is better than

I think Mo is better than Harris this year but i'm probably a bit bias. If Jennings wasn't shooting such a terrible percentage he would be 4 or 5.

i like the list

i like the list but i think rose is more valuable to chicago then rondo is 2 boston...... also rondo is not a franchise player.....he just plays with three potential allstars to where rose on the other hand plays with under achievers in deng, thomas, salmons and hinrich

Yes, then you have Aaron

Yes, then you have Aaron Brooks, Russell Westbrook, Baron Davis, Jason Kidd, Andre Miller
and Evans and Ellis (I think they are both SG)

West is much better..

Damn the east is pathetic at

Damn the east is pathetic at the PG. To see Areanas at 3 is just pathetic. I don't even consider him a PG because he plays like a SG more so than a PG. If Calderon were playing well I think he would be worthy of an honorable mention. I like Rondo over Rose because Rose has still yet to develop that jumper that commands respect, I think that is the one thing stopping Rose from being a top 3 or top 5 PG in the NBA. I would say top 5 in no order would be Paul, Williams, Billups, Nash, and either Rondo or Parker.

Toronto has the best PG combo

Toronto has Jarrett Jack and Jose Calderon whom are both above average PGs. Toronto has 48 minutues of quality PG play. I dont think any other team has this in the NBA.

PG combo

Are we talking about just the east?

Because Collison is a legit backup for Paul, and hes only a rookie

Not to mention Portland...Miller, Bayless, and Blake

Rondo

I think people need to give Rondo some credit. Personally, I can't stand him. I think a lot of his development has been because of what used to be the big 3, but in reality Garnett and Allen are nowhere near what they used to be. Allen's on the block and Garnett is hobbling on the court when he's not in street clothes. Pierce's numbers aren't the usual, but I think he is playing efficiently and he could do more if he had to. The big reason Boston is where they are now is because of the development of Rondo and Perkins. Even though Rondo isn't perfect the guy plays within himself, he gives you great defense, rebounds well from his position and takes care of the ball. Right at this moment he is probably better all around than Rose, but by next year Rose will be the best pg in the East.
