Jason Williams is a terrific

Jason Williams is a terrific ball handler, he is a classic example of someone, another example is Rafer Alston, who took his flashy showman ball handling skills which are very impressive and as he matured as a player was able to more successfully incorperate them into more legit ballhandling that works at an NBA level, someone already mentioned Rafer, but although Williams is not a top 5 point guard he is one of the best ball handlers in the game right now.

Depends

It depends how you define ball-handler. Alson and Crawford are flashy, no doubt. But I think a good ballhandler can get anywhere he wants on the floor by skill and skill alone.

D-Will and Nash are the best I've seen at getting anywhere they want to, not by elite quickness, but by handling the ball, hesitation moves, crossovers, etc...

Deron Williams
Steve Nash
Chris Paul
Rajon Rondo
Maybe Manu Ginobili???

Chris Paul to me is number

Chris Paul to me is number one. You have to remember that Paul isn't a freak NBA athlete. He's very quick, with great lateral burst and change of speeds. Do you remember his triple hesitation crossovers on I think Anthony Johnson? This guy never loses control of the ball, keeps his dribble low, keeps his eyes up, maintains his dribble through pressure, splits double teams with ease, and STILL keeps it at the ready for a pass from any position. If you measured how much time the ball is out of his hands on every bounce, I'm sure his would have the least. Nash is great, but his ball can float of some bounces, making it easier to swipe at. Deron is also fantastic, using his body to shield the ball at all times. He's very hard to strip because of it. Billups is also tremendous at it.

And I really cant believe no one even mentioned Jason Kidd. He doesnt score of anything but threes and still continues to play at a high rate, even as his minutes are being reduced.

edit: I just have to say... to me Chris Paul is a top 5 point guard of all time right now. Hes working on his 3rd straight season with 20 pts, 10ast, 4rebs, and 2 steals, breaking a tie with Isiah Thomas. This guys just like Isiah, except a better shooter, with better ball control and passing instincts. O_O I cant get over how little he turns the ball over despite the ball being in his hands for such a high percentage of the game. He has a usage level comparable to Lebron or Wade... Do you know what we'd be saying about those two if they averaged 2.5 turnovers a game with their numbers? He's starting his career as maybe the most underappreciated All World talent ever. Especially since so many people on this site feel players from the 70's couldnt hang in todays league, we should be talking about Paul as the future best PG ever, right?

Chris Paul isn't athletic?

Chris Paul isn't athletic? If by that you are saying he can't jump then yes but i consider speed, quickness, and agility to be parts of athleticism.

Steve Nash is the best.
Steve Nash is the best. Ball-handling isn't just about a killer crossover, though that helps. It's about being able to use each hand equally in both dribbling and passing. It's about not getting the ball taken from you. And it's about being unpredictable. Nash is all those things.

When I was talking about

When I was talking about Paul, he isnt in the Derrick Rose, John Wall, or even Rajon Rondo category in terms of quickness. Hes not substancially faster than Lowry, Conley, or Deron Williams. I'm saying that, even though hes a world class athlete, hes not unique among point guards. What separates him is his skill. He's like Carmelo and John Wall is Lebron.

And Adi, you know Paul has the ball in his hands just as much if not more than Nash. He sets his teammates up just as much as Nash, has worse teammates, and STILL turns the ball over at a SUBSTANTIALLY lower rate. What does he do thats better than Paul, except shoot? Which would count as shooting? Like I said before, Nash if stopped of a dribble has a tendency to let his handle get loose while looking for a teammate or readjust his handle, and has a propensity to get stripped if pressured well. Paul just splits those double teams.

Not to sound stupid

David Lee has great handles for a guy his size. I don't see many point forwards in the league, I would put Lamar Odom with David Lee as well.
