STEPHEN CURRY DESERVES SOME RESPECT

I just thought of this while writing in another post. i remember during the summe rhow alot of people dogged this guy and still wont give him his props even though he is playing very well

"im not sure what some people want out of the guy but hes shooting 46 percent while putting up 14ppg and shooting 44% from 3 not to mention about 4reb and 5 ast. hell hes only one off in both from evans while 6 points off from ppg despite being smaller, skinner and he is ranked 6th in the nba in steals. i mean really what more do some of ya'll want from this guy?"

he also takes 5 less shots a game then evans and jennings.

attempts so far this season

evans-643 games played-39
flynn-555 games played-45
jennings-707 games played-42
curry-481 games played-42

hes also the third most efficiant rookie in the class. people mention flynn over him alot but other then scoring a lil less then a point more hes not playing as well. i think people need to give this man his due because he has earned it

Yea he is flying under the

Yea he is flying under the radar a bit. I would have thought that Flynn would have produced more statistically than he has.

Someone said that Curry

Someone said that Curry would be this drafts Eric Gordon and they look to be right. Starting off just trying to find his game in the NBA and then starting to put up bigger numbers and showing how capable he is.

Also like Gordon has rookies of to great starts overshadowing him (Evans and Jennings - Rose and Mayo) and what he is doing now.

I see Jennings starts to

I see Jennings starts to play little better in last couple games but if he continues playing at something like 14/3/6 30%fg Curry would have a chance to up to #2 in rankings...but this is big IF i still believe we will see some more crazy games from Jennings this year.

as for Flynn i like him alot i like his scoring but for the guy who avg 6 assists in college he should be better there, until he starts to pass like Jennings or even like Reke/Curry i have Curry slightly over him

Shame

Shame he got drafted by the Warriors. He is a big time clutch player.

I got clowned heavily for

I got clowned heavily for saying that Curry would be a star and maybe be like a poor mans Arenas and now i look like the genious. I had people say that he could not play point after i said he could and look at what he is doing playing next to a ball hog and trigger happy Ellis. I really wished the Knicks got him even though Hill is looking nice but a 4 is not as hard to find as a good shooting one who can also pass well. When I said he could be like Steve Nash in the Knicks system, people acted like i was high. You see the numbers and imagine in a offense that gave him more control and a green like to shoot when he wanted.

Good post. I was going to

Good post. I was going to post something similar to this.

Curry doesn't get enough respect on here. There were quite a few people on here who said he'd be a role player at best and that he didn't have the quickness to get to the rim or defend. They said they didn't see him as a starting caliber point guard. They also said he wouldn't be able to get his own shot. He's been able to do all that and has proven that he's a point guard on the NBA level... Which is REALLY impressive considering he only played the position one year in college. I've never been one of those doubters, but he's impressed me. He's really improved at the defensive end as of late too. He's the real deal.

I was high on him before the draft

He gets a lot of steals and will only get better. Look for all his shooting percentages to rise for the end of the year and continue to rise next season. He is a legit point guard of the future not a combo. He is a point who can play the 2.

he is like westbrook some

he is like westbrook some people are basketball players and can play more than 1 position and succeed more than players who have been playing the same position much longer. How about holiday i said he was really talented and would succeed if given the chance and he produces every chance he gets and same with derozen there is just people who just hate on this site and dont know a lot about hoops they just fall in love with players because of the media

He's playing very well and

He's playing very well and has exceeded expectations in his rookie year, but he's more Mike Bibby than Gilbert Arenas...That's not bad considering Bibby was a top PG when he played for Sacremento back in the day...He does need to defend better though

now where all the &$#%#&@! haters? i posted basically the same thing the first week into the season, this kid is for real, defensively as well. i see an all star potential in this kid and dont see y he cant help to turn GS completely around. also, i saw a post the other day on this site, something about the warriors winning the lottery. I say, trade monta, then u have curry and wall in ur backourt for the next 10 years, holy &$#%#&@!

I said everything I said

I said everything I said before the draft. Also i said poor man's Arenas not saying he is exactly like Arenas but that was early on. I think he has rounded out he game so different now that he is in the NBA and actually is more of a playmaker than the scorer/ passer i thought he would be and still could but with Ellis he is more of a playmaker.
