Kobe Bryant

With all the injuries Kobe is getting you can only wonder how many more years can he play at a high level and after that what will his decline be like how will he play?

Too many minutes taking a

Too many minutes taking a toll on him I say 2 years at this level then he'll fall off some.
Lakers are locked in to a lot of long term contracts with Odom, Gasol, Kobe, Bynum though.
They are already over the cap of 2011-12 with just 5 players and thats without Kobe's extension whenever he signs it.
Farmar might lget traded becaz he doesn't seem to fit the system but they don't have a lot anyone else.
Shannon Brown has a 2.2 player option for next year you'd think he opts out and gets close a lot more in free agency.

I'm not going to even

I'm not going to even entertain this question. He broke his finger and he has some back spasms. Nothing serious. Kobe is going to be playing at this high of a level until he is about 35 or 36, and then he will do what Kareem did and really start saving himself for the playoffs. Kobe's drop off is not going to be anything serious and wont happen for about another 4 years

yeah its not even something

yeah its not even something to really talk about since its a finger injury. if it was something like knees then it could be a problem. with his work ethic and unmatched will i dont see a drop off anytime soon. especially since he still adds new things to his game ala MJ

I think a broken finger is

I think a broken finger is kinda serious even though he adjusted to it his body is going to begin to break down sooner or later thats just how athletes bodies work but i agree that his work ethic n new tricks will carry him through his final stages of his career n now that i think about it kobe dosent attack the rack as much as mj did this late in his career he relies on his post moves n mid range....good input everyone

kobe should be able to put

kobe should be able to put up at the very least 23-24 points until he is 35 or 36 years old. He has a lot of post omves now and his conditioning and the way he takes care of his body year round is second to none. Just a month ago people were calling him the best in the game, now this injury is making it appear that he as a player is slipping.

Kobe has been in the NBA

Kobe has been in the NBA since 1996... He was 17... He's only 31 now, but has a lot of miles on those legs. And he's pretty much played in the playoffs every season. It's hard for Laker fans to imagine life without Kobe or him slowing down, but I see it happening now. I see Kobe playing at a high level for one or two seasons max. He's probably one of the most well conditioned athletes ever, but a lot of people don't remember Kobe has already had knee surgery in the past.

I think the Lakers relied on him too much to start the season. He had to carry too much of the load with Pau out. Now, he's having back spasms and just isn't playing with that same energy. I don't think it's just the finger either. His shots are going short, which means his legs are tired.

I think this is the last season we'll see Kobe average in the high 20's.

i hope kobe is reading all

i hope kobe is reading all this so he can see those doubt him. he wont always be a 29ppg player but can easily ontinue at 25 for the next 5 years. just like mj he has been adding parts to his game to prepare for him getting older. the post game just like mj learned in his 30's and with bynum getting better he wont have to carry the load as much. if he wasnt a player that had the incredible work ethic id have my doubts but since it is kobe i have no doubts. he will learn to pick his spots and adjust

You do realize that Kobe has

You do realize that Kobe has already played as many NBA seasons as MJ did, right?

I highly doubt Kobe averages 25 the next five seasons. He'll play at a high level for two more seasons max and then start to decline. Kobe is a great competitor, but he's not going to beat time.

If Kobe averages 25 over the

If Kobe averages 25 over the next five seasons, he'll be the NBA's all-time leading scorer and break Kareem's record. I just don't see it happening considering this is already his 14th season in the NBA. That's saying Kobe will be averaging 25 during his 19th season in the NBA lol. Come on now...
