Wondering what would it be like if....

1..The Bulls had remained together after winning the title in 1998..how many more rings would they have?
2...If Magic Johnson hadnt contracted the hiv virus..he might've played until he was 45. and could his Lakers have won a ring during Jordan's reign? remember when Magic retired in 1996 at age 36
3.If referee Terry Donahy is correct when he says that other refs have fixed games..could that be the reason why The Heat won 4 straight to beat the Mavs for the title? Why Lebron and a bunch of role players made it to the finals in 2007? Why in the 2000 playoffs the Lakers came back to beat Portland after being down by 20 in the 1st half?
4,If Bill Russell played today would he be 1 of the best centers ever or would he be a role player?
5..What would Kobe's career been like if Charlotte had kept him?
6...If Shaq had stayed in shape..would he have all erased any doubt that he was the best center ever?
7..If Golden State had kept Webber, Hardaway, Mullin & Sprewell together, would they had won a ring in 1994 or 95?
8..Artest said he use to drink alcohol sometimes before games..was he drunk during the brawl in Detroit?
9.If the Knicks had won the lottery in 2003 and gotten Lebron, would they be more popular in New York than the Yankees?
10..If The Hawks had selected Chris Paul would they now be the league's best team?

1..The Bulls had remained

1..The Bulls had remained together after winning the title in 1998..how many more rings would they have? - That's tough to say because Phil Jackson started coaching the Lakers in 1999-2000. I'll say I think the Bulls could've won at least one more in 1998-1999, which was a shortened season due to the lockout. I think they could've beat the Spurs that season.

2...If Magic Johnson hadnt contracted aids.he might've played until he was 45. and could his Lakers have won a ring during Jordan's reign? remember when Magic retired in 1996 at age 36. - I doubt it. Once Jordan took it from Magic in 1991, he wasn't getting it back.

- No doubt about it. If Donahy is right, then I think that calls a lot of games into question.

4,If Bill Russell played today would he be 1 of the best centers ever or would he be a role player? - I don't think he'd be one of the best centers ever, but he'd be a very good rebounder and defender. I think he'd be more of a power forward in today's game. He was 6' 9" 220.

5..What would Kobe's career been like if Charlotte had kept him? - Interesting. I think Kobe would've been the starter at two guard on a playoff team. People probably won't remember, but Charlotte was a good team that season. They had a prime Glenn Rice and tough ass Anthony Mason. If they'd have kept Kobe, maybe they don't have to move to New Orleans later. I don't think Kobe would've won as many rings, but he'd have had better statistics earlier in his career and been the go-to player sooner rather than later. This is all pointless though because Kobe is the one who said he didn't want to play for the Hornets, which was a smart move on his part!

6...If Shaq had stayed in shape..would he have all erased any doubt that he was the best center ever? - Yes, I think so. He's missed a lot of games. That's a lot of missed points, rebounds, blocks, etc.

7..If Golden State had kept Webber, Hardaway, Mullin & Sprewell together, would they had won a ring in 1994 or 95? - No. Don Nelson was the coach.

8..Artest said he use to drink alcohol sometimes before games..was he drunk during the brawl in Detroit? Nope. He was playing way too well that game. The Pacers were giving it to Detroit and were clearly the superior team. I thought we had a chance to win the championship that season.

9.If the Knicks had won the lottery in 2003 and gotten Lebron, would they be more popular in New York than the Yankees? - No way would they be more popular than the YANKEES, but they'd be the most popular team in the NBA and LeBron would make the Knicks worth even more than they already are.

10..If The Hawks had selected Chris Paul would they now be the league's best team? - No, I don't think they'd be the league's best team, but they'd be an elite team. Chris Paul, Joe Johnson and Josh Smith would be great.

Wow

Magic Johnson never had AIDS. What an ignorant statement. He doesn't even have a high probability to get AIDS. He has a mild immune deficiency and probably doesn't even need medication.

In fact scientist today don't even know for fact if AIDS is related to HIV. There are MANY diseases being call HIV and many diseases being called AIDS. It depends on which one(s) a person has and what that person's medical situation is.

You must be 15 like everyone else on this site though--but it wouldn't surprise me if you were older either. So many people say ignorant things about HIV all the time, you should feel welcomed that you are amongst them...

daaaaaaaam dude..i made a

daaaaaaaam dude..i made a mistake...jeeeez ..let it go...lol...i know 1st hand about aids and the hiv virus..i asked several doctors about it and i read everything i could about it....when we 1st found out my cousin had caught it in 1999..my cousin died 6 years later in 2005...he said he didnt know he had it until 1 nite while he was taking a bath..he couldnt get out of the tub ..they called the paramedics and he was taken to the hospital..they ran several tests..thats when he was told he had full blown aids...he said he wish he had went to a hospital after noticing strange stuff coming out of his nose and often being tired for no reason..but he thought he only had a simple cold..so he didnt go see a doctor..some doctors say its stored in the body for 10 years before it causes people body to broke down..my cousin couldnt walk, make a fist, button his shirt or clean himself..we had to hire a nurse to feed him and change his undergarments..he couldnt even do a simple thing as turn himself over in the bed...becuz his muscles had went out..he was only 26 and his hair was starting to turn grey...he would sometimes wake up in tears becuz he was in so much pain...sometimes after he returned home from spending most of the day on dialysis.he'd be so weak all he could do was sleep & cry..sometimes he'd get into his wheelchair at odd times in the wee hours of the morning and sit outside praying & crying..we would give him time alone..but we kept an eye on him...i hate seeing him like that...it sicken me..i pray they find a cure for it...i cringe whenever i hear of someone dying from aids..becuz i remember whut my family went through...thats why i tell people to visit a doctor at least 4 times a year..to get a physical or routine checkup..it could save your life...if my cousin had been visiting a doctor..they couldve noticed it..and he couldve been given some medication before it turned to aids...

first off, gcb3, you are

first off, gcb3, you are acting like the kid on here. We all know what rudeboy meant and breaking down the medical apsect of it all and insulting people was not necesarry.

anyways, as for the topic at hand:

1- i say one more in the lockout shortened year the bulls would have won. But that team was getting older.

2-magic would have played a lot longer, but the lakers were clearly not the same team anymore and they would have needed to rebuild regardless if magic was there.

3-i don't believe donaghy when he accusses other refs of fixing games. In fact i believe he said he "thinks" refs fixed games, but has no proof other then his own speculation.

4 bill russell might have been able to adapt his game like anyone else if he grew up in todays era, but if you just took him form his prime and stuck him into todays game, he would not even make an nba squad, i have no doubt about that. I was watching a lakers knicks game from the 70's the other day, and guys like Jerry west and elgin baylor could not make a squad today. Tottally different era's.

5-kobe would have been great regardless, impossible to know if he would have a title or not. I'm sure they could have built a very competitive team and maybe challenged for some rings especially since the eastern conference didn't have any great teams after the bulls dynasty. If AI could lead the sixers or kidd could lead the nets to the finals, then why not kobe leading the hornets to the finals.

6-if shaq had the work ethic of a kobe, jordan or karl malone, he would have been unstoppable and easily the greatest center of all time in my opinion.

7-no. Hardaway had some injuries, mullin was on the down side of his career and webber was still very young. The warriors would have won 50-60 games and been very competitive, but hard to say chmaps, i don't see it but not impossibble.

8-artest might have drank during some games, but i seriously doubt he was ever drunk, especially not by the end of the game where he would have run all that buzz off by the time the brawl happened.

9-i don't live in NY, but it's hard to imagine anyone being more popular then the yankees.

10-hard to say how good the hawks would be. They still lack a big man, so no i dont think they would be the best.

Lil Perez Hilton 22,

Perez, I have to completely disagree with you. I dont think you know the severity of spreading this type of misinformation around. Its not like he got a basketball jersey number incorrect. Yet we should all be ok with that for we know what he "meant"?

Its "insulting" when people say ignorant things. If you dont know something dont spread the misinformation. Acquired ImmunoDeficiency Syndrome is not HIV. Its associated with it, yes, but associations and assumptions are harmful. Let me explain, here is the history of what HIV has been called over the years because of its associations:

* Gay-related Immune Deficiency (GRID)
* Gay cancer
* The 4H Disease (Haitians, homosexuals, hemophiliacs, and heroin users)
* AIDS

There are many diseases that cause the Human immunodeficiency virus. I will repeat, there are many diseases that cause the Human Immunodeficiency Virus. And then there are many other diseases that cause Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndromes.

There is not one HIV or one AIDS. So to interchange them as another in reference to somebody (Magic Johnson) is like gossiping about someone who has a non lethal squamous cell skin carcinoma (aka skin cancer) as having pancreatic cancer stage 4--they are two totally different conditions and do not deserve to be called anything other than what they are.

HIV is NOT the Acquired Immunodeficieny Syndrome no matter what. And too assume what someone "means" with using the wrong terminology is the same logic that is used in perpetuating stigmas, hate-crimes, violence, ignorance and fear.

I really dont care how brass or childish I come off when acknowledging disparities and innocuous ignorance.

dear gabby c bey.........

GCB3..u're on the wrong site......this is about basketball..u bringing your dr. phil insight isnt needed...u're looking stuff up online then using big words to make yourself look smart..hahahaha...When Magic 1st retire he stated himself that it was becuz of the hiv virus he had...look it up Gabby..Now u're going to far by telling me to keep the story about my cousin's life private..i feel better talking about his final days of dying from aids..instead of holding it in..He asked us to film his difficulty trying to live with aids..to show our younger family members and other kids to practice safe sex...i've been invited to several schools to talk to students about aids..before i went ..i 1st had to talk to doctors and learn more about it myself..Now i'm in the process of writing abook about my cousin's struggles..I remember watching tv when i was 7 and hearing how Len Bias dying from using drugs..It might sound corny but seeing that scared me..And made me vowed to never do drugs...So if me telling people about my cousin can help 1 person...I think that is great... .Now u talking about hate crimes, gay cancer and violence..i'm thru talking to u

What big words did I use?

What big words did I use? Innocuous? Terminology? Misinformation? Its called a 6th grade reading level, you should get one.

And Rudeboy, I believe you are a liar. You happen to be writing a book about your cousin, and you talk to schools about aids yet you dont know the difference between HIV and Aids?

And If you actually read my email its not about hate crimes, its about misinformation and how its harmful. Sorry if your ego is too large to learn, but its true rudeboy.

gcb3-yes i read your email.

gcb3-yes i read your email. I have no problem with you encouraging the further growth of learnig about the disease and helping educate people. There is nothing wrong with that and it is a good thing that you take it seriously. However, you are picking the wrong battle here. This is a bsaketball site. Rudeboy is talking about things that have to do with basketball. No one was gonna learn anything (right/wrong) about diseases of any kind because he said "what if magic didn't get aids". And if you felt his words were neceassary to correct, then you should have done it in an adult manner instead of insulting people. I tried to call you out on that respectively, but instead you called me "perez hilton" and now you are calling rudeboy a liar over something that might be true and very personal to him.

Either way, this is a basketball site. So as rudeboy said, I'm done with this conversation.
