David Lee

I figured this would be a good time to post something on the big guy, seeing as how he's getting a chance to shine in the national spotlight against the Lakers. I just have one question. How can you not love this guy's game? He handles the ball at any point in the court, makes great passes, eats up the boards, and shows great hustle. He's tremendously skilled and has very quick feet and body control. No, he's not a center because he doesn't blocks shots, but he's a very talented PF thats honed his skills and produces however he can. Definitely my favorite Knick on the team. Boy does work! I got the seen that Lee's skill were a product of the teams lack of ability, but I know he'd get a double double on many a teams, and does enough things well thatd he'd produce in any system. What I'm saying is Lee's worked himself into an all-star. Any thoughts?

As a Kings fan I hope and think they will go HARD after him this offseason. I think he'd be good on just about any team in the league, everyone can use talented bigs...

He's grown on me. I used to

He's grown on me. I used to think he was a product of the Knicks system and I was scared that a team would overpay for him, but he's clearly got a nice skill set and now is a big threat shooting jumpers. To the point you have to contest him hard from 20 feet in. Put that with him being a great rebounder and passer and you have a player playing All-Star basketball this season. The next step for him is to become a better defender, and that could come with him playing his natural position (PF). I like him alot..

I thought Lee would be this

I thought Lee would be this good.. he is pretty much doing what he did last year.  People are just now starting to understand it isn't all about simply being a product of D'Antoni's system.

I was talking about Lee a lot over the summer saying he was underrated. I told people he lead the league in double doubles last season.  Still, people didn't think that was impressive because he plays in that offense.

Quincy

Hansborough and Harangody aren't even in the same stratosphere in terms of the NBA level. Lee's athleticism and energy is in the top half of the league's big men.

I'm glad Lee is finally

I'm glad Lee is finally getting respect as a top big man in the league. He has been vastly underrated by most people on this site. It's something special when Kobe Bryant says Lee should be an allstar. Nobody remembers that Tim Duncan singled Lee out as his favorite player in the league a few years back. If Lee had a good PG to run the pick and roll with then the Knicks could be something special.

I remember I first seen him

I remember I first seen him in the rookie-soph all star game

I thought he was a natural 3

I was disappointed when he packed on the weight

and became a PF-C

he played good against the Lakers though, the Knicks just gave up too much length and quickness

to Gasol and Odom down the stretch

Should block more shots

His game has looked better in the Pro's than it did in college though he has been an all star this year.

Lee could never be a 3. He

Lee could never be a 3. He lacks the quickness and handles. Plus his jumper is pretty good now but his delivery is very slow. He is a great big man. If Hill can develop any kind of game then they could be a good frontcourt.

well he's not a natural

well he's not a natural three

he was an EFFICIENT mismatch ala Luol Deng

Larry Brown's idea not mine

"Lee was installed as the Knicks' starting small forward for a stretch of 13 games in December 2005 and January 2006. Lee posted 23 points on 10–11 shooting, along with 15 rebounds and three steals in 52 minutes as the Knicks went on to defeat the Phoenix Suns in triple overtime on January 2, 2006."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Lee_(basketball)

his rookie year he was quicker and more athletic

as a PF Who is his perfect center to play with?

His perfect center would

His perfect center would obviously be Dwight Howard who would help with Lee's only defense...interior D.
