The Guy Who Would Win the 3-point Shooting Competition, Except He Won't Be In It...

STEVE NOVAK! This guy is the best 3 point point shooter in the nba but can't do much else so he is cemented to the end of the clippers bench. I was watching him in 2nd half warm-ups the other day and he did not miss a single shot (95% of them 3's). I am not joking. It was just him and kaman shooting around early in halftime and he could not miss. the thing its always like that for novak. he has the best 3 point jumper in the league, except for he just doesn't play because he is a defensive liability and he usually just camps out behind the 3 point line. He is the guy who made this shot: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N7tsLkcJqO0&feature=related

I hope the league gets him in the competition, but i doubt he will due to his very limited exposure.

novak is good

novak is good in 3 point and that is pretty much it. and if a guy shots well in warm ups or in the game it doesnt mean that he is a competition shooter

thats what i was saying: he

thats what i was saying: he is only good at shooting 3's. he would be good in the competition. there is nothing that would make you think he wouldn't be. i said that hes good in warm ups because that shows he is a good shooter wide open which is what the format is in the competition. however, im not saying he is good just because of warm ups. i have actually seen him do very well in games with people in his face and he has always been regarded as an amazing shooter, but thats all he can do. thats why he would be perfect for the 3 point shooting competition.

i agree with clippers, Steve

i agree with clippers, Steve Novak is the best shooter in the league. I remeber when he was in houston TMac said he had never seen a better shooter then Steve. I think he wins the 3 pt shootout but Kapono and gallinari could both give him a run for his money.

You have officially made the dumbest claim ever by saying Korver was on Team USA

Korver

Korver was not on tea usa but was intived to one of their camps, and actually got kinda far in the selection process. so it is not the dumbest claim ever, and not very far off. The guy may not have done his research completely but he did a bit, if u do not believe me look at this

The Jazz's Ronnie Brewer and Paul Millsap, as expected, were among 25 players officially named today to take part next month in a USA Basketball mini-camp at Las Vegas.

The surprise joining them will be Kyle Korver, the Jazz's backup shooting guard

Didnt Novak do it in

Didnt Novak do it in college?? I think he was in it and he was in the final round. IDK if he won but Im about 90% sure he was in it. He is a good shooter but just seeing him in warmups is a bad way to judge it. I mean, everyone in the NBA can hit jumpers. There are videos of Boozer, Howard, Garnette, ect, hitting open jumpers all day long. However, that doesnt mean they are good shooters. To be in the NBA, you have to be able to shoot when open. These guys have nothing to do but play ball and they are in a gym all the time. Think about that. 9 hours a day is devoted to gym time. 2 hours for practice w/team and 7 hours to shooting/ball handling/conditioning/weight lifting/fundamentals. I am in college and we are only alowed 20 hours a week to practice. I know people will bash me for saying this, but I can hit jumpers all day long because when Im spend at least 6 hours a week by my self, shooting. Its not that crazy to hit them when they dont amount to anything. When the pressure is on and people are in the stands, its a little different.

All that being said, I would like to see him in it. What about Novak, Korver, Kapono, S. Stoudamire, D Cook, Wally Scerbialksjdfkajdsf... I cant spell that. All of these guys would be bench warmers that can just shoot. That would be an exciting shootout......

Anthony Morrow is the best

Anthony Morrow is the best shooter in the NBA IMO, but Novak is the best shooter to not be invited to the contest..

Yea... It's too bad Novak

Yea... It's too bad Novak doesn't play. I wanted to see him in the contest this year. I think he's the best catch and shoot 3P shooter in the NBA. He's a special shooter.
