Damion James's Updated Profile

Moments ago, a new scouting report on Damion James was added onto his profile. For his overally ratings, his quickness should be a 10 out of 10 especially that his sprint result in the NBA Pre Draft athletic testing was a 3.09. That time is better than Ty Lawson's and better than Mike Conley Jr. who's profiles had a 10 out of 10 for speed. I think that James's quickness rating should be a 10 out of 10 especially that he's a small foward/mini power foward.

I think whatever his ball

I think whatever his ball handling is should be raised as well (I'm sure it was pretty low)..and his shooting. James has cleaned up his perimeter skills now to the point that he's got the ability to be a full-time SF in the NBA....

damion james is definitely a

damion james is definitely a 1st round prospect in my mind...not only is he the best player on the best team in the entire country but hes a legimiately danny granger-esque type player..i think he has a high ceiling even though he will be a 23 year old rookie

He has improved a lot of

He has improved a lot of aspects of his game the last couple years. I think he is a top 25 player who is a beast on the boards for only being 6'7''. One area of his game he still needs a little work on is his free throw percentage which is 67% right now, not bad, but he has added range to his game so that is a good indicator he can improve his percent from the stripe too. I don't see Danny Granger, but I do see Gerald Wallace type potential, but unlike Wallace who only played one year of college ball, James (now the Big 12 conference's all-time rebounding leader) would be more ready to step in and contribute.

James is a stud, I thought

James is a stud, I thought he was the second most talented player on that Kevin Durant Texas squad, and now he's showing it. I like the Gerald Wallace comparison, but I think he will be an even better offensive player.

how good do you guys think

how good do you guys think hes gonna be? also what do you think his max potential is? I see him being a very good role player, like a 3rd option type of player that can have an all around rock solid game.

Yeah he will be a very good

Yeah he will be a very good 3rd option. Kind of like how Jeff Green is for OKC. James will be the type of player that gets u 15-17pts, 8-10rebs, and about 3 assists during his prime. He will be a very good NBA player

Comparison

Damion James is going to be a very good role player IMO. I think a player he best compares to is Gerald Wallace ( a notch below athletically). Both are terrific rebounder's at the small forward position, not very good shooters (yet can knock down the occasional shot) and don't have much handle. They get most of their points on fast breaks and put backs. In his prime I can see him averaging around 13-15 points and around 8 or maybe even 9 boards. With his length and athleticism I see him developing into an above average defender.

James

James is a VERY good shooter. He just doesn't have very good range. He is excellent from mid-range.

For the record, you can't put too much stock into the pre-draft combine. Damion James is very quick for a player of his size, and he excells on the fast break, but he is not quicker than Ty Lawson.

Disagree

Calling James a VERY good shooter is an understatement. At best he is a slightly above average shooter. True, he is shooting 36% from 3pt land and even shot 41% his sophomore season, but he is a low volume shooter he only takes "good shots" (which is a VERY good thing) but to call someone who hasn't even shot better than 70% in a single season "very good shooter"? I have to disagree. And I am not just basing all this on percentages, but I do happen to watch every Texas game that shows on national TV; and he's just not that great of a shooter IMO (though he has improved greatly that area). I doubt he'd be anything more than an average shooter at the NBA level.

Mid-Range

Mid-range. He is a VERY good mid-range shooter. I said not very good range, so the implication was he doesn't shoot great from three (or he doesn't shoot many, like you said). I didn't think to mention that he wasn't a good free-throw shooter. I meant to say, he is a very good mid-range shooter.

Sorry

Sorry I have to do this.

"Calling James a VERY good shooter is an understatement."

The correct term would have been overstatement.

I know what you meant, but I'm just a jerk like that.
