New Orleans deals Hilton Armstrong to Sacramento

Yahoo Sports

The New Orleans Hornets have traded center Hilton Armstrong(notes) and cash to the Sacramento Kings in a salary-clearing move, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

The deal removes Hilton’s $2.8 million salary from the Hornets’ payroll, leaving them only a little more than $500,000 over the luxury-tax threshold. The Kings will send the Hornets a future, conditional second-round pick.

I was disappointed by the

I was disappointed by the play of Hilton this season. I kept hearing on how he was in elite shape this summer and worked with a top trainer to improve his game, but I guess it didn't translate. He is currently has career lows in almost every statistical category. Actually New Orleans went 0-3 for guys who were on the line of busting or bursting out in Julian Wright, Ike Diagu, and Armstrong. A good move for NO dumping his salary.

I really liked Hilton coming

I really liked Hilton coming out of UCONN. I thought he'd at least be a very good defender and rebounder. He's disappointed me, but I like the move for both teams. The Hornets clear cap and Sac picks up a player that might give them something on the defensive end.

Julian Wright, Hilton

Julian Wright, Hilton Armtrong, Cedric Simmons...damn, if 1 of those picks panned out to be solid, useful players the Hornets would be in a much better state of mind right now..

Hopefully they can eventually get enough cap space to get CP3 some help..

The Hornets can get a big

The Hornets can get a big just as limited from the D-league (Kurt Looby, Jared Reiner, Brian Butch, Michael Fey, Luke Nevill, Kevin Pittsnogle, Anthony Tolliver, Alade Aminu, Steven Hill, or Dwayne Jones) on a 10-day contract if they aren't content with Posey being the primary backup at the 4 or Songaila at the 5.

songala

I think luke nevill would be a better backup than songala. Nevell is utahs all time block shot leader and a nice soft touch.
