PF for the King

I just saw on Yahoo! Sports that the Cavs are looking for other options at the power forward. The obvious one, that everyone knows about, is Jamison. Mark Miller reported that they are also interested in Troy Murphy. I actually think he is the better fit. That is my question to you.

Who should the Cavs focus on, Murphy or Jamison?

Personally, I think Murphy.

Jamison is the better player

Jamison is the better player and I don't think it is that close. Neither is a particularly good defender, and it is hard to make the case that Murphy is better offensively. Murphy is younger and his contract doesn't extend as far as Jamison's but if the goal is to win a title then Jamison would help them more.

love both players

love both players and i think they are both underrated, but you are right if they wanna challenge the celtics for the east they go after jamison. I would love to see murphy play for a contender too but jamison would be a great addition

Murphy May Be 1 of the 10 Worst Defenders

Of those two I would lean towards A. Jamison. Having said that, I admire the fact that Murphy's one of those rare players who can both score and rebound. Most guys are usually good at one or the other but he gives you 100% on the boards.

Unfortunately with Murphy you get a guy who plays zero defense. Somebody may want to post a list of the ten worst defenders in the NBA, and if they do, Murphy's name is mandatory. I find it hard to believe that Jamison's defense could be any worse than Murphy's.

Jamison

I think that Jamison would be a better fit for th Cavs when they match up against The Magics. He'll be able to guard R. Lewis out at the 3 point line compare to Murphy. This makes the Cavs a mor versatile team.

Murphy is good but Jamison is key for match up.

Murphy. Too much talent that

Murphy. Too much talent that needs a jolt and Bron can get him in alignment. He's tough and almost bodyguard-like. Plus, him and Shaq would dominate on certain nights. Too much strength on their front-line. I remember Murphy was about to put Ty.Thomas on the ground.

The way I was looking at it

The way I was looking at it was the Cavs are going to have to give up one of their Cs for either of these guys. Right now, they play 3 centers in Verajo, Shaq, and Big Z. Murphy can slide to the C position and be productive when they need him to. Jamison is more of a PF/SF and thats not exactly what the Cavs need because they have a few of them. Murphy is a PF/C that can pull the big man away from the basket and open it up for Lebron to go to work. Imagine if they could put 5 guys on the perimeter that are all deadly from three.

I see where everyone is coming from with the defense thing but I still think Murphy is the better fit.

I love Jamison for the Cavs,

I love Jamison for the Cavs, he is what they need J.J. HIckson to be. A versatile 4 who can handle the ball and stretch the D. He also is a great lockerroom and character guy. He'll be able to check Lewis/Pierce even though he is a little small to bang inside. As a tar heel fan I would love to see Jamison go to a contender

Murphy... "Tough and

Murphy... "Tough and bodyguard like"... Ha ha lol... Are you kidding? Murphy wouldn't bust a grape in a fruit fight.

He's a good offensive player, a very good 3P shooter (especially at the top of the key) and a great defensive rebounder, but he's below average when it comes to offensive rebounds... Meaning he doesn't jumpstart many 2nd chance opportunities. He's a terrible defender and has little to no back to the basket game. As a longtime Pacers fan and season tickets holder, I'd love to see Cleveland trade Big Z's expiring contract to us for Murphy. I really think Hansbrough can give us close to the 14 and 9 Murphy is averaging.

I think Jamison is the better fit for Cleveland though. He's the more versatile offensive player. He can also stretch the floor and shoot the three. He's not a very good defender, but he can guard the post or the perimeter.

Would we even be having this

Would we even be having this conversation had the Cavs aggressively pursued Zach Randolph over Shaq???

no we'd be talking about how

no we'd be talking about how Lebron needs a physical big man to defend Dwight Howard and Andrew Bynum

catch-22 for Danny Ferry, I will say this

even Jordan didn't get this much talent so early in his career

@The_One They wanted Hickson

@The_One

They wanted Hickson to be that guy, the PF/SF type of player.

You are correct, Lebron is one, they use Moon as one, and Jawad Williams. Also, since Lebron is one, they dont need many more because he will play the bulk of the minutes there. IMO, either guy is a good fit for the team but I think Murphy is the better one. Just how I see it.

wow could you imagin zach

wow could you imagin zach randolph on that team. people say his defense is bad but when you do the research he doesnt give up many points. i think the fact that he wears his man out has something to do with it. as far as murphey and antwan...hmmmm thats a tugh one. neither is that good at defense both can shoot. i think i have to go with antwan because side show bob is a banger and you can put him in when you want to bang and keep antwan in when you want more options plus antwan can slide to the 3 and lebron to the 2 in some games
